The Sidney Police Department reports that on Saturday officers became aware of multiple incidents of graffiti vandalism affecting both Village property and private property within the Village of Sidney. The graffiti consisted of derogatory phrases directed at President Donald Trump and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Officers apprehended 3 individuals, arrested were 19 year old Mara Van Kingsley of Sidney, 21 year old Harley Riglioni of Unadilla, & 20 year old Saaniah Small of Afton, for 1 count each of Criminal Mischief, Making Graffiti, Conspiracy & Possession of Graffiti Instruments, All 3 defendants were processed by the Sidney Police Department and transported to the Delaware County Court for arraignment, the investigation remains ongoing, and additional charges may be filed as further information becomes available.

Otsego County Sheriff's Office arrested 53 year old Donald Lane Jr. of Milford, for 3rd & 4th Degree Grand Larceny, following an investigation into the complaint of in the Town of Milford where a motor vehicle had been unlawfully taken from the victim’s residence. Lane was processed, and was being held in the Otsego County Jail on unrelated charges.
Governor Hochul updated New Yorkers on the “You’re Hired” campaign to hire federal workers that have been fired by the Trump Administration. In 3 weeks, state agencies have received over 1,300 applications, hired 28 former federal workers and interviewed over 100 individuals, over 250 individuals have signed up to attend a career webinar or receive career resources by completing the survey on ny.gov/wewantyou. Since the launch of the campaign, the State’s Jobs website has been viewed over 4 million times.
U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand is calling on VA employees and vets to contact her office with concerns they may be having regarding the Trump administration demanding they return to in person work, cutting staff, and making it more difficult for mental health professionals to administer confidential help to vets.

New York Attorney General Letitia James and 19 other attorneys general are suing the Trump administration for cutting nearly half of the Department of Education’s staff and shifting its responsibilities to other agencies. The lawsuit claims that the administration ignored the law to fire government workers, so states couldn’t administer grants, manage student aid, or enforce civil rights laws. She is approximately 4 feet 6 inches tall, with green eyes, and weighs about 90 pounds. Charlotte was last seen wearing an orange tie-dye Pokemon shirt, dark blue pants, black crocs, gray bike helmet. New York Attorney General Letitia James announced that the State Supreme Court ruled that Donald Trump, Donald Trump, Jr., and Ivanka Trump must all appear for sworn testimony, and Donald Trump must produce additional documents in compliance with subpoenas from the Office of the Attorney General. The judge ordered the Trumps to appear for testimony within 21 days, and ordered Donald Trump to produce additional documentation within 14 days.

State Comptroller Tom DiNapoli is urging New Yorkers to read the fine print for details about fees and expiration dates, and to spend the gift cards in a timely fashion. If gift cards expire, the money would get turned over to the Office of Unclaimed Funds. Governor Cuomo today announced that he will propose legislation to further decouple New York State's tax code from the federal code if President Trump moves forward with a plan for a $100 billion capital gains tax cut for the rich. The Governor also called on Congress to immediately block any attempt by President Trump to unilaterally cut taxes for the nation's wealthiest 1% in violation of the Constitution. State Attorney General Eric Schneiderman released a statement today following EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt’s announcement that the Trump Administration will repeal the Clean Power Plan. Schneiderman said that the Trump Administration is putting energy industry special interests ahead of New Yorkers’ and all Americans’ safety, health, and the environment. Lawmakers from both major parties were not pleased with President Trump's statements to the Wall Street Journal this week. Trump was quoted as saying that Upstate New York residents should just leave, and head to states where there are not enough people for existing manufacturing jobs, like Wisconsin. Local Congresswoman Claudia Tenney, who normally supports Trump, released a statement, saying that she hoped Trump’s comments were taken out of context, that Upstate has a rich history of manufacturing, and policies must be implemented to revive the region.
