Governor Cuomo announced that the U.S. Small Business Administration has granted his request for a Physical Disaster Declaration for businesses and households in several Counties, including Broome, Chenango & Delaware Counties that were affected by severe storms and flash flooding on August 13th through the 15th. The assessment confirmed that there was major damage to 20 homes and 7 businesses in Broome County totaling $717,000, and minor damage to 205 homes and 14 businesses totaling $1,228,000. The SBA low-interest loans can help affected residents and businesses make timely repairs & remove debris. State Police at Troop C in Sidney announced that an elderly woman Otsego County woman, who had been reported missing, was found safe Wednesday afternoon. 89-year-old Belle Lord of the town of Otsego had left in a Toyota convertible with North Carolina plates, she was found in good condition and was returned to her family.
