15 years after 9/11, the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum will pay tribute to baseball’s role in the healing process with a 6-month exhibit, & a special recognition during Hall of Fame Weekend. On Saturday, June 18, the Museum will cut the ribbon on “Baseball After 9/11” which will feature will be the Mets jersey 2016 Hall of Fame electee Mike Piazza wore on Sept. 21, 2001, in the first game played in New York after 9/11. Additional artifacts include both the “NYPD” hat worn by Mets manager Bobby Valentine and the “FDNY” hat worn by Mets pitcher John Franco on Sept. 21, 2001, as well as a game ticket to the scheduled Sept. 11 game at Yankee Stadium between the Yankees and the Chicago White Sox.
The Congressional Candidates for the 19th district will debate tonight in Oneonta. Republicans Andrew Heaney & John Faso will debate each other at 7:00 PM, Democrats Will Yandik & Zephyr Teachout will debate at 8:30 PM both will be at the Foothills Performing Arts Center, The debate is sponsored by the League of Women Voters.

Oneonta Police have charged a Hartwick College student with Assault. 20-year-old Nabill Maiyaki of Mohegan Lake is accused of stabbing an unidentified male victim during an altercation on Elm Street at about 1:00 AM Saturday, he has been charged with 2nd-degree assault & criminal possession of a weapon. The injured male was stabbed in a leg and in the abdomen, and was taken to Fox Hospital with non- life threatening injuries Maiyaki was held being held on bail pending court action
The Oneonta City Environmental Board will hold their next meeting this evening. The meeting will begin at 7:00 PM at the Common Council Chambers at City Hall.
