The giveaway will be from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at the Boys & Girls Club on the 2nd floor of the Sidney civic center today.
Country artist's Jamie O'Neal, Andy Griggs and Ty Herndon will perform tonight at 7:00 PM at Damaschke field in Oneonta. The concert will go on rain or shine under the large tent. Continuing with shows throughout the weekend, the “All Star Jam," featuring some of the areas premier musicians, will take to the stage throughout the day Saturday, followed by Three Dog Night performing Sunday. Governor Cuomo signed legislation to Expand and strengthen services for veterans, active service members and their families. The new law eases the transition to a new school for children of military families that relocate, lowers the cost of higher education for Veterans receiving benefits under the GI bills, & offers military family members greater flexibility with professional licenses received from other states or jurisdictions. The new law also strengthens the supplemental burial assistance provided by the state to military families when a service member dies in combat or as a result of injuries sustained on the battlefield.

The new Senior Center opened today on the 2nd floor of the Sidney Civic Center, which will be tied into the recreational facilities at the Sidney Boys & Girls ClubClub Director Trish Tyrell said that many area organizations and businesses have supported this project:

The Oneonta Police Department announced the arrests of 3 juveniles, in connection with the vandalism at Doc Knapp Field, Riverside Elementary School, the Swart –Wilcox House and a vehicle last weekend.  Police officials said the tips provided by the public led to these arrests.  All 3 suspects are under the age of 16, their identities will not be released, and the investigation is still continuing.
Federal Authorities closed down Lyn’s Leisure Tyme Gun Shop in Davenport last Thursday, when the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco & Firearms raided the establishment on state route 23.  The Bureau has not released details of the raid Thursday, the Delaware county sheriffs department were not involved in the raid.

The Parole Hearing for convicted murderer David Dart of Milford Is scheduled for today.  Dart was convicted of the 1989 murder of Gillian Gibbons in her car in the lowest level of the Oneonta municipal parking garage. Dart has been held in a prison downstate since his conviction in Otsego county court.

State police in Oneonta arrested 22-year-old Cassandra Richardson of Hartwick for criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marihuana.  Richardson was found to unlawfully possessing prescription drugs and marihuana after being pulled over for using a cell phone while driving, she was issued tickets for Town of Oneonta Court on January 28th.
