NYSERDA’s NY-Sun PV Trainers Network and the Otsego County Planning Department invite all local public officials to attend the Land Use Planning and Zoning for Solar Workshop tonight. The workshop will cover information on current solar topics, including relevant property tax topics related to solar development and agricultural assessments. The presentation will take place at the ETC Room, at the Milford BOCES at 1914 County Route 35, tonight from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM

The Bainbridge-Guilford Central School will hold a Board of Education Meeting on Tonight in the District Conference Room at 6:30 PM. The business portion of the meeting will start at 7:00 PM.

The Sidney Veteran’s Memorial Park Association will hold their dedication ceremony for the Sidney Veterans Memorial Park on Saturday at the State Route 8 & River street location. Association Spokesman Dane Woytek comments:

Woytek said that Congressman Chris Gibson, Assemblyman Cliff crouch & Sidney Mayor Andy Matviak will maker remarks at the dedication Saturday, the Keynote Speaker is US Army Brigadier General Peter Palmer, who is also a Sidney School graduate.

The State DOT will hold a public meeting Today, regarding plans to rehabilitate a bridge on State Route 28 in the town of Milford, The meeting will be held at Milford Central School, the Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and a formal presentation will be conducted at 7 p.m. The bridge was built in 1985 and carries State Route 28 over State Route 7 and the Norfolk Southern Railroad Main Line. The purpose of the meeting is to share and exchange information with the public regarding the project and its potential impacts, including proposed work zone traffic control options to manage traffic during construction.

Red Cross Blood Drives will be held today in the region. In Bainbridge, the blood drive will be held from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, at the Greenlawn Elementary School, from 4:00 to 8:00 at the Harold BOCES campus in Masonville & in Oneonta from 1:00 to 6:00 PM at the St James Episcopal Church, 305 Main Street. The meeting will be held at Milford Central School, at 7:00 PM. The bridge was built in 1985 and carries State Route 28 over State Route 7 and the Norfolk Southern Railroad Freight Main Line. All Area School Districts had their school budget propositions passed by their voters yesterday. Several area districts that exceeded the tax cap requiring a 60% super majority vote also passed. Capital Reserve Propositions Passed IN Bainbridge Guilford, Gilbertsville Mount Upton, Laurens, Unatego & Unadilla Valley; bus propositions passed in Afton, Bainbridge Guilford, Laurens, Oneonta, Oxford Unadilla Valley & Walton, & library Propositions passed in Milford, Norwich, Walton & Sidney.

The Afton Central School Board of Education meeting that was scheduled for Thursday has been changed to today. The meeting will begin at 7:00 PM in the boardroom.

The Sidney Central School District will be holding its Budget Hearing Tuesday night at 7:00 pm in the high school library. Dr. Christensen will be presenting the 2016-17 school budget. The public is invited to attend.

The Otsego County District Attorney's Office reported the arrest of 45-year-old Kevin Blush of Milford for 2nd degree rape & child endangerment. Blush is accused of performing sexual acts with a female under the age of 15; he was arraigned in the Town of Hartwick and remanded to the Otsego County Correctional Facility on $5,000 bail. He faces court action on May 11th. A temporary order of protection was issued for the victim.

The Otsego County Conservation associaiton will host their annual Earth Festival in Milford tomorrow. The event is an environmentally-focused, interactive event featuring exhibits, activities, vendors and entertainment, It will be held in from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Milford Central School gymnasium.

The Oxford Academy and Central School District is adding a new life skill to its educational curriculum with NBT Bank’s Strive® Financial Literacy program. Classes will be offered twice per month throughout the current spring semester, students get an introduction to checking and savings accounts, budgeting, and understanding credit; as well as a special focus on auto financing, student loans and paying for college, and protecting against identity theft by NBT Bank of Oxford Branch Supervisor Jill Eddy.

State Police arrested 23-year-old Dylan Debrock of the town of Maryland, for DWI. The arrest occurred after a trooper responded to an erratic vehicle spinning its tires on Valley View Estates Road in the Town of Milford. The trooper located the 1995 Ford Thunderbird stuck just of the roadway with Debrock standing on the hood. An investigation determined that he was driving while intoxicated when his car slid off the roadway became stuck. Debrock was issued tickets returnable to the Town of Milford on February 16,
