George Wang of Lawrence Kansas was sentenced in Otsego County Court Monday, to go to a state run Psychiatric Center for the treatment of a mental disease. Wang was originally charged with Attempted Murder after the car he was driving veered off of State Route 28 in Hartwick on November 18th of 2020, striking a pedestrian in a parking lot, and then left the scene. Wang pleaded not guilty by reason of mental disease or defect recently, he will stay in a facility until he is deemed to be not a danger to himself or the public.

The City of Oneonta Common Council will hold a special Zoom meeting Thursday evening, to discuss & possibly vote on their Police reform & Reinvention plan.  The Plan is posted on the City’s website.

Norwich Police & State Police are seeking the public’s help in locating a sexual assault suspect.  On March 23rd, an individual was attacked at around 2:30 PM while walking along the railroad tracks downtown.  The attacker forced the victim into the brush & attempted to remove clothing, when the victim managed to break free & ran for help.  The suspect is described as a white male, in his mid-20 with dirty blond hair, wearing a gray colored tank top & holding either a red belt or handkerchief, anyone with information is asked to contact Norwich police at 336-TIPS.

Otsego County Health department reported 18 new Positive COVID 19 tests results, giving them over 3800 total cases & 55 deaths since the pandemic began.  Chenango County today reported 120 active cases with 414 quarantined, they have had over 2700 cases so far.  In Delaware County, there are 132 active cases, 354 in quarantine and 1888 total cases with 45 deaths.

A Rochester woman becomes the latest person to accuse governor Cuomo with inappropriate advances.  Sherry Vill said that the governor kissed her several times, while he was examining her home for flooding in 2017.  Lawmakers from both parties are calling for the governor to resign following several accusations of sexually harassing behavior.

23 year old George Wang of Kansas pleaded not guilty to attempted murder in Otsego County Court.  Wang is accused of driving off of state route 28 in the town of Hartwick in front of the Tops Market & Striking a pedestrian last November, he then sped off.  Wand was charged with operating a motor vehicle while impaired by drugs & alcohol he is free after posting $300,000 bond, he is due back in court may 24th.

Trout Season begins in New York State tomorrow.  The State DEC is stocking 1.8 million trout in waters across the state.

The Sidney Elks Lodge will hold their annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday April 3rd at 11:30 AM.  The hunt will be held outside & Masks are required, the Easter Bunny will be available for pictures.

The Murder Trial of Dylan Robinson of Oneonta will begin in Otsego County Court on April 14th Robinson is accused of murdering his father, along with several others, and then setting the house on fire  in October of 2019 in Worcester.

Anyone with any unused, outdated or unwanted medication can safely dispose of it at the date, time and place listed below. The Helio Health Center announced 50 new stabilization and rehabilitation beds in Binghamton, in the fight against the ongoing opioid crisis.  The $13 million investment will add 50 more beds to the current 50 bed facility on Glenwood Road.

Otsego County Sheriff's office arrested 23 year old George Wang of Lawrence Kansas for Attempted Murder, Vehicular Assault, DWI & Operating a vehicle while impaired by drugs, after intentionally striking a pedestrian with a motor vehicle in the Town of Hartwick Wednesday afternoon.  Wang allegedly drove off the roadway and shoulder into a grassy area in front of TOPS Plaza, where he struck a pedestrian, Witnesses aided the victim, Wang fled at a high rate of speed south on State Route 28.  State Police stopped Wang at State Route 28 and the I-88 interchange; he was arraigned & is being held at the Otsego County Jail on $300,000 bond.  The victim is listed as in stable condition and is being treated for multiple injuries sustained during the incident.

Governor Cuomo announced that individuals travelling from 3 additional states will be required to quarantine for 14 days upon arrival to New York State.  The states of Delaware, Kansas and Oklahoma have met the Metrics to Qualify for the Travel Advisory.  The State Health department announced that 588 people tested positive statewide for the Coronavirus that was about 1% of those tested Monday.  There were 10 COVID-19 Deaths in New York State Monday, the total Number of cases since March is up to 398,237.

Magic City Music Hall announced today that Saturday evening’s concert with Rusted Root would be the venue’s final show. Over the past year the Music Hall has produced more than 2 dozen major concerts, including by REO Speedwagon, Kansas, and Third Eye Blind, among others. Ticket refunds for shows with Chase Rice and Josh Turner remain available at the place of purchase, including the Magic City Music Hall Box Office, as are refunds for any other previously postponed or cancelled concerts. The Music Hall Box Office will be open for refunds through 6:00 PM on Monday, after that, refunds may be obtained by sending a stamped, self-addressed envelope to Magic City, P.O. Box 462, Endicott.

The Kansas City Royals captured their second-ever World Series title and first in 30 seasons after a 5-game Series with the New York Mets. Artifacts from Royals will arrive in Cooperstown to take a permanent place at the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum, among the Artifacts, a Jersey worn by Royals first baseman Eric Hosmer, a Glove used by Royals catcher and World Series Most Valuable Player Salvador Perez, Spikes worn by Royals center fielder Lorenzo Cain, a cap worn by Royals closer Wade Davis, & a bat each from Mike Moustakas, & Alcides Escobar. additional artifacts from the 2015 Postseason will be featured in the Autumn Glory exhibit, which will be on exhibit through the 2016 Postseason and is scheduled to open in later this month.

The national baseball Hall Of fame & Museum in Cooperstown announced that beginning Monday, they will document the San Francisco Giants’ most recent World Series title through a their annual tribute to the World Series Champions. The Museum acquired several artifacts from the champion Giants as well as from Kansas City Royals, including items used in the series by the Giants Buster Posey, Pablo Sandoval, Hunter Pence & manager Bruce Bochy, as well as items from the American League Champion Royals from Yordano Ventura, Brandon Finnegan, & Royals manager Ned Yost.

Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 39-year-old Keith  DeGraw of Kansas City, Kansas & Walton  on a bench warrant issued by Walton Town Court for failure to appear.  DeGraw was arraigned in Walton Town Court and remanded to the Delaware County Jail on $5000 cash bail or $1000 bond.  He is scheduled to reappear in Walton Town Court at a later date.
