Broome County Sheriff's Office responded Wednesday, afternoon to a work zone accident on the I-88 westbound bridge north of I-81. The investigation found that after a heavy downpour, an employee exiting a port-a-John was struck by a passing water truck traveling within the construction area in reverse, which ran over the worker’s legs and lower torso. The victim remained conscious was transported to Wilson Hospital. The investigation revealed a questionable placement of the portable facility, no charges have been filed, the accident report was sent to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.

Officials with Spiedie Fest announced that all events at Otsiningo Park today are canceled, due to the storms in the area, The Meet & Greet with Kurt Angle is going on until 6:00 PM at the Visions Veterans Memorial Arena, followed by the concert with John Waite & Tommy DeCarlo. All activities at Otsiningo Park will begin again tomorrow at 6:00 AM.

37 year old Michael Salamey of Frankfort appeared in Delaware County Court Wednesday & a 2 Count Indictment was unsealed Salamey was charged with Grand Larceny for allegedly stealing over $360,000, by entering into a contract to improve property in the Town of Roxbury. The Indictment said that the owner of the property paid Salamey the money to install a septic system, underground electric utilities, foundations, and small homes & that the work was not performed & her stopped communicating with the property owner. Salamey was released & a conference is scheduled in Delaware County Court on August 21st.

Bassett Healthcare Network will be holding a COVID-19 vaccination clinic open to community members, including children, on Saturday, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Bassett Medical Center’s outpatient clinic building in Cooperstown. O’Connor Hospital in Delhi is holding a COVID-19 vaccine booster clinic on Saturday, from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM, with the Moderna vaccine only. Appointments are required at 746-0525. Also, the FoxCare Center in Oneonta is holding a COVID-19 vaccine booster clinic on Saturday from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, that clinic will provide boosters for Moderna, Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson vaccines. State Police have issued an AMBER Alert for a child abduction in Cattaraugus County this morning. 12-year-old McKenzie Wilson was abducted at about 5:00 AM in Lyndon by 18-year-old Joshua Monette and 16-year-old John Harvey, they are believed to be armed with handguns, & are driving a stolen red Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck heading east, with New York license number CXA 5836. McKenzie Wilson is a White female, is about 12 years old, with straight, blonde hair and blue eyes, about 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs about 100 pounds. The suspect Monette is a White male, approximately 18 years old with short, black hair and brown eyes, approximately 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighs about 140 pounds, Harvey is a White male, approximately 16 years old with brown hair. Anyone with any information is asked to call (866) NYS-AMBER or 911.

The Broome County Sheriff’s Office arrested 26-year-old Jennifer Hinman of Sidney following a burglary investigation in the town of Sanford. Hinman is accused of unlawfully entering a home & taking property from the home on May 18th. Hinman was charged with 2nd degree burglary, she was arraigned in Fenton town court and released on her own recognizance.
