The American Red Cross is facing a severe blood shortage & they will hold 2 area blood drives today. A Blood Drive in Oneonta will be held from 2:00 to 7:00 PM at Hillside Commons, at 150 Blodgett Drive, a blood drive in Gilbertsville will be held from 1:00 to 6:00 PM at the Christ Episcopal Church, on Marion Avenue. Blood donors of all blood types, especially type O, are urged to make an appointment to donate at RedCrossBlood.org or by calling 1-800-RED CROSS.

The Otsego County Chamber of Commerce, & the Newman Development Group will celebrate the grand opening of Hillside Commons in Oneonta’s today from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. the Hillside Commons is the newest student housing development, today's event is open to the public, at 150 Blodgett Drive, Oneonta.

The Oneonta city planning commission will meet today, to continue its review of the long environmental assessment form submitted by Newman Development Corporation, regarding their proposed Hillside Commons student housing development.  The meeting will be held in the common council chambers on the 2nd floor of Oneonta city hall at 7:00 PM.  More information is available at 432-6450.

The city of Oneonta planning commission will meet this evening, to consider the Hillside Commons Application and take public comment on the project.  The meeting will be held in the science wing of the Oneonta high school starting at 6:00 PM.

The Oneonta planning commission meeting for this week has been cancelled, after a review by Delaware Engineering of the controversial Hillside Commons development found the application to be incomplete.  Engineers requested information regarding fire equipment access, environmental studies and property access before any plans would be submitted to the Planning commission.
