Delaware County Sheriff's Office arrested 41 year old Gerald Johnson of Oneonta on an Sealed Indictment Arrest Warrant issued by the Delaware County Grand Jury. On April 16th, the Delaware County Criminal Investigations Unit and Road Patrol division, Otsego County Sheriff’s Office and State Police responded to a residence in the Town of Oneonta, Johnson was located and arrested in Lantern Hill Mobile Home Park in the Town of Oneonta. Johnson was charged with 3 counts of Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument, 2 counts of Grand Larceny, and 1 count of Petty Larceny, he was arraigned & was remanded to the Delaware County Correctional Facility on $30,000.00 cash bail Or $100,000.00 secured bond. Johnson is scheduled to appear in the Delaware County Court at a later date.

State Police responded Friday to a 3-car crash on State Highway 23 near the intersection of Regan Way in the town of Davenport. An investigation revealed that a Pontiac driven by 56 year old Kevin Johnson of Windham was stopped waiting to turn left into the Mirabito when he was rear ended by a Hyundai driven by 20 year old Shaun Jones of Davenport, which caused the Hyundai to then enter the westbound lane of traffic and into the path of an ambulance traveling west on State Highway 23. The ambulance then struck a guiderail. Jones was transported to Albany Med and was treated & released, Jones's passenger, a 19-year-old female of Otego was transported to Bassett Medical Center. The driver of the ambulance, 41 year old Gerald Brown of Milford was transported to Fox Hospital, his passenger; a 21-year-old male of Sherburne was also transported to Fox Hospital. The crash remains under investigation.

State Police arrested 2 men on drug charges following a routine traffic stop. 24 year old Tyler Force of Oneonta was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance & unlawful possession of marijuana, 21 year old Jesse Johnson of the town of Maryland was charged with unlawful possession of Marijuana and failure to use signal lights, both face court action shortly.
Gerald Althiser pleaded guilty in Otsego County Court to attempted arson, for the fire that destroyed the Milford United Methodist Church last March. Althiser was sentenced to 5 years probation, to be served at the Homer Folks Facility in Oneonta, where he will receive counseling. A judgment of $1 million was also placed against him.

State Police arrested 51 year old Gerald Ackerman of Andes for Criminal Obstruction of Breathing and Blood Circulation, and Harassment, after troopers responded to a dispute in the town of Andes. Ackerman is accused of grabbing a woman by the throat and threatening her; he was arraigned in the town of Andes court and was remanded to the Delaware County jail on $1,500 cash bail or $3,000 property bond. His next court date is September 26, 2017.

61-year-old Gerald Porter of Binghamton was found guilty today in Broome County Court of burglarizing the apartment of a deceased resident's body was removed. The jury convicted Porter for 2nd-degree burglary & criminal possession of stolen property, he faces sentencing on September 7th.
Delaware County Sheriff's Deputies investigated a 1-car accident Tuesday evening on State Highway 206 in the Town of Tompkins that resulted in a Walton woman being air-lifted to the hospital. The driver of the vehicle, 30-year-old Joshua Crisell of Walton lost control of his vehicle when he reached for an item in the vehicle causing the vehicle to run off the roadway, strike a number of small trees and overturn. A passenger in the vehicle, 29-year-old MistyBlue Crisell, sustained back and head injuries and was airlifted to Wilson Hospital in Johnson City. Crisell was charged with failure to keep hands on the steering wheel, moving from lane unsafely and operating a motor vehicle out of license class, he would face action in Town of Tompkins Court at a later date.

State police responded to the report of an accident in the town of Deposit early Saturday morning. 52-year-old Gerald Kamp of Deposit drove his Mercedes Benz off of airport road & into a tree, at about 6:00 AM Saturday, when he failed to make a sharp left curve in the road. Kamp was pronounced dead at the scene, the investigation is ongoing.
43-year-old Darren Steele of Harpursville has been charged with 3rd degree assault, obstructing governmental administration, resisting arrest, 2nd degree harassment & 3rd degree burglary following a domestic depute in Johnson City. Police accuse Steele of hitting his wife and another woman who tried to intervene; he was apprehended after he returned to the area a short time later. Steele was arraigned and was sent to the Broome County jail pending future court action.

Following a 5-month investigation by the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office, Sealed Indictment Warrants were handed down by a Delaware County Grand Jury Friday. 8 people were arrested Friday on a variety of drug charges. Charged were 23-year-old Miguel Santiago of Stamford, for allegedly selling Heroin in the Village of Stamford, & 30-year-old Gerard Johnson of Walton for allegedly selling Heroin in the Village of Walton. Sidney police arrested 45 year old Nancy Tomao of Sidney was arrested for allegedly selling a prescription controlled substance in Sidney, she was turned over to Delaware County Deputies pending arraignment. State police arrested 20-year-old Jordan King of Unadilla for allegedly selling a prescription controlled substance in Franklin; he was turned over to Delaware County Deputies pending arraignment. Chenango county deputies arrested 56-year-old Kim Chlad of Sherburne for allegedly selling a prescription controlled substance in Sidney; she was turned over to Delaware County Deputies pending arraignment. Delaware county deputies arrested 25-year-old Sande Lower of Oneonta, for allegedly selling a prescription drug in Franklin; & 24-year-old Mandi Stratton of Walton, for allegedly selling Heroin in Walton having a child present. All were arraigned today in Delaware county court and they are being held without bail pending court action. 26 year old Jessica Woodcock of Walton, was arrested for endangering the welfare of c child for allegedly allowing her child to be present during a heroin transaction, she was arraigned Friday and was released on recognizance pending further court action. The Investigation is continuing and more arrests are pending.
