The Chenango County Sheriff’s Office arrested 51 year old Thendara Hartwell of Plymouth for Making a Terroristic Threat and Falsely Reporting an Incident. On August 5th, the County's 911 Center received a call from Community Bank in Norwich stating that they received a bomb threat from an anonymous phone number. The Sheriff’s Office responded & evacuated multiple businesses, a State Police Explosives Detection Canine and bomb technician conducted a search of the entire premises and did not locate any signs of explosive devices & the businesses re-opened. After an investigation and execution of a search warrant, it was found that Hartwell made the threatening phone call from a blocked phone number and caused public alarm and inconvenience. Hartwell was taken into custody today & was arraigned & she was
remanded to the Chenango County Jail on $1,250 bail.

18 year old Kenneth Santiago-Pepin of Johnson City, was convicted of Criminal Possession of a Weapon, and was sentenced to a state prison term of 6 years, followed by 5 years of post release supervision. On January 30th, Johnson City Police responded to 22 Sanford Street for a report of shots fired, Santiago-Pepin approached the residence, produced a handgun, and fired at the building multiple times, officers apprehended Santiago-Pepin after a brief chase on foot, Police found that he possessed a 2nd weapon.

Chenango County Sheriff's Office arrested 38 year old Justin Quakenbush of Oneonta Monday for Grand Larceny, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property, Unlawful Fleeing a Police Officer and Reckless Endangerment. Deputies arrested Quackenbush following a report of a stolen vehicle, Deputies were able to locate the stolen vehicle in the City of Norwich, they initiated a traffic stop and Quackenbush failed to comply and led Deputies on a pursuit through the City and into the Town of New Berlin. Quackenbush stopped in South New Berlin where he was taken into custody, he was transported back to the Chenango County Sheriff's Office for processing and was arraigned & he was remanded to the Chenango County Jail on $10,000 bail.

Norwich Police Detectives successfully concluded an investigation Wednesday into the distribution of counterfeit U.S. currency and the illegal sale and possession of controlled substances, including fentanyl and methamphetamine. Police arrested 34 year old Zachary England of Norwich, for 1 count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Sell, 18 counts of Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument, plus Tampering with Physical Evidence among other charges, England was found in possession of $1,800 in cash upon arrest, along with fentanyl and methamphetamine. England was arraigned and was held without bail due to prior felony convictions, the investigation remains ongoing.

Sidney Police Department responded to a domestic dispute Saturday at a residence on West Main Street, where a man was destroying property. Officers located 45 year old Arthur Cotten in the garage, he began dousing the floor and the garage with gasoline, Officers attempted to stop him, he was able to ignite the gas can with a lighter, Officers were able to physically restrain Cotten and pull him and themselves away from the fire, which was quickly extinguished. Cotten was charged with Aggravated family offense, Reckless endangerment, Attempted Arson, Criminal possession of a weapon, Attempted Assault, Criminal mischief, Resisting arrest, Menacing and Obstruction of governmental administration, Cotten was arraigned at the Delaware County Central Arraignment court where he was released on $1000 cash bail to appear back in court at a later date.

Dick Allen, Dave Parker, CC Sabathia, Ichiro Suzuki and Billy Wagner will be enshrined, More than 50 Hall of Famers are expected to return to honor the newest members. The Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will be held Sunday, at 1:30 p.m. on the grounds of the Clark Sports Center, The Induction Ceremony will be shown live on MLB Network, or at MLB.com.
