Delaware County Sheriff Deputies arrested 63 year old Alan
Brown of East Meredith for Criminal possession of a controlled substance &
promoting Prison Contraband, Brown is accused of possessing cocaine while being
processed into the Delaware County Jail on unrelated charges. Brown was arraigned in the Town of Delhi
Court and remanded to the Delaware County Jail on $10,000.00 cash bail. Brown
is to reappear in the Town of Delhi Court at a later date.

The state budget is due to be passed April 1st, and is
expected to be around 175 Billion Dollars.
Rockland County ranked 1st among New York's Counties in a
ranking from Smart Assets on effective spending by County Governments of the

at 6:30 PM, on a proposal to fine city residents that feed feral cats. The public hearing will take place at 1 City
Court Plaza in Norwich.
A presentation for the public will be hosted by the Unatego
Central School District Board of Education at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 27,
on a future capital building project. The meeting will be in the high school
cafeteria at 2641 State 7 in Wells Bridge.
A Free 7-Week Smoking Cessation Course will
start on Tuesday April 2nd at the O’Connor Hospital Board Room in Delhi. The weekly class will run from 1:30 to 3:30
PM, registration, or more information is available at 431-5692 or

State Police issued 13,038 tickets and arrested 259 people
for impaired driving during the St. Patrick's Day weekend impaired driving
crackdown. The STOP-DWI initiative started on Friday, March 15 and continued
through Monday, March 18th. During the
2018 campaign, Troopers issued nearly 12,959 total tickets and arrested 243
motorists for impaired driving.
Governor Cuomo reiterated that he will not sign a new State
Budget Plan unless there is a permanent 2% Tax Cap. He made the announcement yesterday on Long Island;
the budget is due April 1st.
The next Bainbridge United meeting will be held this
evening. The meeting will begin at 7:00
PM at Bob's Diner, Bainbridge residents are urged to attend & participate.

Norwich fire fighters responded to 99 Borden Avenue for a
structure fire at a warehouse last night starting at about 6:00 PM. Fire fighters from North Norwich & Oxford
also responded, the fire was under control in about 45 minutes, some vehicles
& part of the building suffered heavy damage, no injuries were reported.
State Senator Fred Akshar released 2 new questions this week
as part of a series of online surveys polling questions constituents of the
52nd Senate District on issues that may come before the New York State Senate
this year. Akshar is asking his
constituents to weigh in on two of his own proposed pieces of legislation. The first question is about Increasing the
volunteer firefighters' and ambulance workers' credit. The 2nd is about the
Community Heroes Protection Act which designates targeted offenses against 1st
responders, Firefighters, EMS Personnel, & Police Officers as Hate Crime.

that certain county roads are temporarily closed to any vehicle with a gross
weight in excess of 4 tons. Some of the
roads affected include county route10 from state route 28 to county route 12,
County Route 16 from State Route 10 to Treadwell, County route 23 from county
route 21 to Sidney center, County route 35 from county 23 to state route 205,

events" Carnival For A Cure" today at the Sidney Elks Lodge on River
Street. The event will run from 5:30 to
7:30 PM, The Relay For Life event will be held on June 7th at General Clinton
park in Bainbridge.

Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle, following an investigation
into a report of a motor vehicle accident on Feak Hollow Road in the Town of
Hamden. Spencer was also issued tickets for unlicensed operator and uninspected
motor vehicle. Spencer was later released on traffic tickets returnable to
Hamden Town Court at a later date.
The Center for Agricultural Development and Entrepreneurship
and SUNY Cobleskill will offer a free legal workshop this evening from 7:00 to
9:00 PM in Oneonta, for farms and food businesses. The workshop is part of a
2019 Farm and Food Business Incubator Workshop series covering essential topics
in business planning and management, it will be held at the Center’s Oneonta
