Sidney Police Officer Morgan Smith today received a national award from Delaware County Acting District Attorney Shawn Smith for her diligence in removing drunk & drugged drivers from local roads, Sidney Police Chief Eric Oliver commented about officer Smith:

Chief Oliver said that Officer Smith achieved this award while still on her probationary period with the Sidney Police Department.
The Co-Ed Sidney Slow Pitch Softball Tournament will be held tomorrow at Keith Clark Park in Sidney, with teams from around the state competing, the day will also be coupled with a fundraiser by the American Legion, to help Sidney's league play at Keith Clark Park & pay for lights & other assorted costs, according to tournament organizer Matt Walsh of Sidney:

Sidney Police are investigating a round of thefts of cash & items from vehicles, most recently around Willow Street Friday. Sidney Police Chief Eric Oliver comments:

Chief Oliver said that there could be an arrest relating to vehicle thefts shortly, he also said that people should not leave any valuables in their vehicles in plain sight.

The Village of Sidney Police Department announced that K9 Riggs has become certified to sniff out crime in Sidney, Chief Eric Oliver explains:

Chief Oliver said that initial testing with Riggs prior to certification went well, and they are looking forward to working with K9 Riggs to positively effect slowing down the drug crimes in the village.
