Local counties will get more than $185 million in state and federal homeland security grants, to support infrastructure protection, sustain anti-terrorism programs, and enhance emergency preparedness and response. Otsego County will receive $500,000 for improvements and enhancements to merge 911 public safety-answering systems, and fund the implementation of new technologies for data sharing, greater operating efficiencies, and regional consolidation. Otsego, Delaware, Chenango and Broome counties, will share in $108,000 in a Hazardous Materials Grant program.

THE NBT BANK SUMMER FREE CONCERT SERIES, PRESENTED BY THE CHENANGO BLUES ASSOCIATION. WILL BE HELD IN EAST PARK IN NORWICH. THE CONCERT WILL BE THE 'CRIS JACOBS BAND' PERFORMING AT 7:00 PM.
