Chenango County Public Health released their latest COVID 19 numbers today, they report 194 total cases since March, with 145 Active Quarantines, no Active Hospitalizations, 7 deaths, 168 Recoveries, and they have performed 15157 tests.  Isaiah Sutton of Chenango County Public Health said that a latest positive test showed that the individual was at 2 Norwich Bars recently, & ignored Pandemic protocols:

Sutton said that all of the local counties have been seeing increases again, largely due to larger summertime gatherings; he urges that people continue to practice socially distancing, wear a face mask properly & avoid large gatherings wherever possible.

The Broome County Health Department announced Friday that they are up to 906 positive cases of COVID 19, with 63 deaths, 695 recoveries and 610 are being monitored by the Health Department.
State Senator Jim Seward announced that Diane Munro of Roxbury has been confirmed by the state senate as a member of the Olympic Regional Development Authority.  Munro has held positions as a teacher, principal, and superintendent, & while a Sidney resident Years ago, she was a co-founder of Sidney Area Youth Advocate Program, and the Tri-Town Boys and Girls Club, she currently serves the board of directors of the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Council of Delaware County, and is a member of the Delaware County and Central Catskills Chamber of Commerce, the appointment runs through June 19, 2024.

Governor Cuomo stated Thursday that New York State has one license for bars & restaurants, and people are misunderstanding the concept of outdoor dining;

The State Police & State Liquor Authority will look into as many cases as they can of violating of the state laws, local police agencies are also being asked to enforce the law.
Delaware County received 2 new positive test results for COVID-19 Thursday and no additional recoveries. The known active cases in the County as of today is 7,   To date there have been 91 confirmed positive cases of COVID-19 in Delaware County, with 56 people under mandatory quarantine and 10 people under precautionary quarantine, 6 people are isolated at home and 1 is in the hospital, 6 people have died and 78 have fully recovered.
Police are looking for a 93 year old Rockland County man with dementia, who may be driving in the local region.  Joseph Buffamento is described as a white man, 5'5" about 135 pounds, with gray hair, Brown eyes, driving a 2002 Toyota Rav 4 with license plate number 556823, he was last seen driving on Oquaga Lake Road at about 7:30 PM last night.  Anyone with information is asked to call 911.  (Buffamento was located safely at home Friday morning)
State Senator Jim Seward announced Senate passage of legislation to assist a retired teacher from Otsego County who was being forced to repay the State Teachers Retirement System nearly $64,000 due to multiple accounting errors.  Katherine Sweeney retired from teaching from the Richfield Springs school district in 2004, in 2018 & again in 2019 she was informed that she was overcompensated & had to reimburse the State Retirement System.  Sweeney contacted Senator Seward, the issue was corrected, legislation passed both houses & the bill will now go to the governor for final approval.
