State Police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying an individual in connection with an assault, On June 30, 2026, at approximately 11:35 a.m., at the Dollar General on State Route 12 in the town of Norwich. The investigation determined that a white male approached another male as he was exiting the store, yelled at him, and punched him in the face, causing the victim to fall to the ground and strike his head. The victim sustained a laceration above his eyebrow and was treated at the scene by members of Norwich Ambulance. He declined transportation to a hospital. The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 6 feet tall, with a muscular build and short light brown hair, the suspect left in a blue SUV. Both teens were last seen together on the evening of October 21, 2025, at Sierra’s residence in Oneida County. They are believed to be traveling in an unknown vehicle, Police believe they may be traveling to New York City or Pennsylvania. The New York State Department of Health today released a new report showing a continued decline in tobacco use among high school students across the state. The report, shows that 1 in 6 Youth Still Use Tobacco, the lowest since tracking began in 2000. Cigarette smoking remains low, with just over 2% of students reporting current use, E-cigarette use has declined sharply to about 13%, however, Nicotine pouch use is rising, doubling from 1.5% to 3.0% since 2022.

Delaware County Sheriff's Office arrested 18-year-old Kayden Wilcox of East Meredith, in June, Deputies received a complaint that a male subject was in possession of child pornography, Investigators responded to a residence in the Town of Kortright to seize electronic evidence. Wilcox was in possession of obscene sexual material of a child, the Sheriff’s Office arrested Wilcox on 1 count of Possessing an Obscene Sexual Performance by a Child, he was released on an appearance ticket and directed to return to the Town of Kortright Court at a later date.

State Police & State Parks Police continue the search for 20-year-old Jonathan D'Agostino, who is described as approximately 6’ tall, 210 pounds with a Shaved head, dark beard and mustache. Police reported that D'Agostino was spotted on Video footage as he was leaving Ithaca College on Sunday, Wearing blue jeans, gray sweatshirt and a green knit hat, his vehicle was located at lower Buttermilk Falls State Park in the Town of Ithaca and his cell phone was in the vehicle, with a note within the vehicle suggesting self harm. 27 year old Alison Ward of Randolph, New Jersey appeared in the Town of Colchester and pleaded guilty to Driving While Intoxicated, Ward was sentenced to a 1-year conditional discharge, she will have to attend a Victim Impact Panel, complete an Impaired Driver Program, her license was revoked for 6 months, and an ignition interlock device will have to be installed on any vehicle she drives for a minimum of one year, if she violates the terms she could be re-sentenced to 1 year in jail. On July 14, 2023, Ward was pulled over by Town of Colchester Police after she crossed the double yellow line on State Highway 206, nearly striking a pickup truck head on, she failed Field Sobriety Tests at the scene.

Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies responded last Thursday to the report of a vehicle traveling on the wrong side of the road on State Highway 23 in the Town of Davenport. Deputies observed a vehicle matching the description parked in front of the Tractor Supply, they made contact with the driver, 36-year-old Marie Schneider of Oneonta, she was charged with DWI, aggravated driving while intoxicated with a BAC greater than 0.18%, a, among other charges, She was released on traffic summonses and is to appear in the Town of Davenport Court at a later date.
50 year old Andras Kasuba of Brooklyn appeared before the Delaware County Court this week and was sentenced to time served to be followed by 5 years’ probation supervision for Aggravated Vehicular Assault and Driving While Intoxicated. On March 18, 2023, Kasuba was the driver of a vehicle in a crash where 3 individuals suffered serious injuries. Kasuba had a BAC 2.5 times the legal limit, he fled Delaware County and he was also the subject of a deportation proceeding in which he also failed to appear. Kasuba was eventually apprehended in Brooklyn by New York City Police & was returned to Delaware County for sentencing, he may still face deportation to Hungary.

The Chenango County Sheriff’s Office is currently looking for 40 year old Donald Shurock Jr. A Chenango County Deputy was called to a State Highway 26 in Pitcher Thursday for a suspicious vehicle complaint, the Deputy identified one of the occupants as Shurock, who has active warrants for his arrest. Shurock resisted arrest and fled the scene on foot, causing the Deputy to sustain physical injury. The Deputy was transported to a local hospital and was treated & released. Shurock is described as a white male, approximately 5’8” tall, weighing approximately 165 pounds, balding with short brown hair, brown beard and mustache, wearing a black winter hat, blue/gray Carhartt jacket, jeans, and boots. In addition to the active arrest warrants, Shurock is now wanted on charges of Assault on a Police Officer and Resisting Arrest. Early Sunday, Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a fatal, 1 car motor vehicle accident on State Highway 23 in the Town of Davenport, that claimed the life of a Davenport resident. An investigation revealed that at approximately 1:03AM, 18 year old Jayden Aviles of Tarrytown was traveling Eastbound on State Highway 23, he was unable to maintain control of the vehicle on a curve, left the roadway, crashing into a private home, 2 sleeping people in the home were seriously injured, 34 year old Larry Vankeuren succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased. This investigation is ongoing.

On September 4, the Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team, executed a no knock search warrant at a residence on State Highway 10 in the Town of Walton, they arrested 43 year old Benjamin Pankiewicz, 22 year old Gage Pankiewicz & 37 year old Ashley Calabrese, all of Walton on a number of drug charges, A quantity of Methamphetamine, Fentanyl, drug packaging & processing equipment were seized, as well as a firearm and approximately $1,000 in cash. The driver and passenger of the second vehicle involved self-extricated and were transported to Wilson Hospital for evaluation. The investigation revealed that Smith was traveling West bound on County Road 35 when another vehicle operated by a juvenile was traveling south bound on State Highway 220 and failed to stop at the intersection, striking the passenger side of Smith's vehicle. The investigation is continuing.

On February 14th a Deputy initiated a traffic stop for a speeding on I-88 in Milford, Conville began to flee while dragging the injured deputy approximately 300 feet across the highway. The deputy was able to disengage and was later transported to Bassett Hospital. 5 hours later, State Police and the Massachusetts State Police located Conville and took him in to custody, he was transported back to the Otsego County Sheriff’s Office Friday, he was held for arraignment, the deputy has recovered and returned to duty.

State Police BCI are asking the public’s assistance in identifying a man who entered Delaware National Bank of Delhi on September 29, 2023 and used a fraudulent ID to withdraw a large sum of money from a customer’s bank account. The male left the bank walking south on Main Street, he is described as a man in his 50’s, bald and wearing a blue long sleeve shirt with black pants. The Broome County Sheriff’s Office released the name of the victim killed in a fatal motor vehicle accident on Monday. 17 year old Makai Wilkinson of Harpursville was driving a pickup truck with 2 passengers on Welton Street in the Town of Colesville when the vehicle left the roadway and collided with a tree. The two passengers were transported Wilson Hospital, one for minor injuries and the other for serious injuries, but Wilkinson was pronounced dead at the scene. This is an ongoing investigation.
