U.S. Senators Chuck Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand announced $5.4 Million dollars in federal funding for 3 Central New York and Southern Tier airports. Greater Binghamton/Link Field will get about 2.2 Million Dollars to reconstruct airfield guidance signs and to reconstruct or replace the airport lighting vault.

Haynes said that every year, thousands of puppies from out of state puppy mills are sold to unassuming consumers at astronomical prices. The dogs are bred in factory like facilities, and are physically, mentally, and medically compromised puppies sold at retail outlets, the bill has not yet been signed by Governor Hochul.

Artifacts from the Washington Nationals’ first-ever World
Series title are headed to the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum. Artifacts donated by the Nationals include
n The ball hit by Howie Kendrick off the
right field foul pole for the go-ahead home run in Game 7, A jersey worn by
World Series MVP Stephen Strasburg, A
cap worn by starting pitcher Max Scherzer in Game 7 & a bat used by Anthony
Rendon. The artifacts will be featured
in the Autumn Glory exhibit, which will be on display in Cooperstown through
the 2020 Postseason.

The have been some changes made within the Sidney Fire Department, as the MacDonald Hose Company was closed & the equipment was moved to the Main River Street location, which then forced a move by the Sidney Emergency Squad. Sidney EMS Spokesman Ray Baker explains:

Governor Cuomo defeated Cynthia Nixon easily for the Democratic Party Primary for Governor, also winning statewide Primary Elections were Kathy Hochul for Lieutenant Governor, & Letitia James for Attorney General. Local State Assembly incumbents Cliff Crouch & Bill Magee won their Primary challenges by large margins. Otsego County Sheriff Richard Devlin Jr. won his Primary election for the Republican nomination over challenger Robert Fernandez.

The Village of Sidney will hold their 23rd annual Sidney Arbor Day program on Friday, April 24 at 10:00 AM at Bill Ray field, behind the Moose Lodge off East Main Street. This year’s Arbor Day award will be in memory of Bill Ray; a Crimson King will be planted at the Bill Ray field in memory of Bill’s years of service and dedication to the Sidney Recreation Commission and the community.
