The Otsego County Sheriff's Office announced the arrest of 50 year old James Smoot of Harmony North Carolina, as part of the investigation into the theft of firearms in the Town of Middlefield. Smoot was charged with Grand Larceny, & weapons charges following a larceny investigation of multiple firearms in the Town of Middlefield, Smoot was arraigned in Town of Middlefield Court, he was remanded to the Otsego County Jail on $3,000 cash bail or $6,000 bond and is scheduled to reappear in Middlefield Court on a later date.
State Police arrested 58 year old Susanna Zock of Laurens for Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, after Troopers responded to a complaint of an erratic driver traveling at 10 to 15 miles an hour in a 55 mile an hour zone on State highway 205 in the town of Laurens. Troopers located the vehicle and observed Zock swerving all over the road, she was arrested and released on appearance tickets returnable to the town of Laurens Court on December 20th.

State Police arrested 41 year old Brian Larson of Masonville for Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana, after Troopers observed the vehicle Larson was operating with an equipment violation on State Route 7 in Bainbridge. Larson was arrested then arraigned in the town of Bainbridge Court pending future court action.
State Police arrested 38 year old Ronald Wright of Unadilla for DWI with BAC of .17%. A trooper observed a male urinating at the gate to Wadler Brothers on State Highway 28 in the town of Middletown. After an investigation, the trooper determined that Wright was impaired and unable to operate a vehicle safely. He was subsequently arrested and later released on appearance tickets returnable to the town of Middletown court on December 18th.
State Police arrested 43 year old Jason Rude of Oneonta for Grand Larceny, following a complaint that Rude allegedly took a victim’s vehicle without permission then sold the vehicle to Otsego Auto Crushers. Rude was arraigned in the town of Middlefield Court where he was released on his own recognizance.

The Delaware County Board of Supervisors passed their 103 million dollar budget at their meeting Wednesday in Delhi. The tax levy increase was held to about 1.4%, the board also approved of forming the substance Abuse Prevention Task Force which will include members of several County Agencies to try to combat the ongoing Heroin & Opioid problem.

Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 39 year old Michael Allen of Delhi with disseminating indecent material to minors and endangering the welfare of a child. Allen is accused of electronically sending pornographic material to a minor. Allen was arraigned at the Town of Delhi Court, where he was later remanded to the Delaware County Correctional Faculty in lieu of $5,000 cash bail. Allen is set to appear in the Town of Delhi Court at a later date for further court proceedings.

The National Weather service has a Winter Storm Warning Weather Advisory in effect until 10:00 AM Friday.
The Otsego County Sheriff’s Office arrested 33-year-old James Carey Jr. of Oneonta for disseminating indecent material to minors and endangering the welfare of a child. Carey is accused sending and receiving nude photographs” between himself and a 12-year-old girl, he was sent to the Otsego County Correctional Facility and is scheduled to appear in Town of Otsego Court on November 28.
State Police arrested 34 year old Donald Shurock of Oxford for Resisting Arrest and 2 counts of Criminal Mischief, Troopers were dispatched to a domestic dispute on Lucas Lane in the town of Oxford, where Shurock damaged property and also took the victim’s phone while the victim attempted to call for help the previous day. After an investigation, Shurock Jr. was arrested. He was arraigned in the town of Oxford Court where he was remanded to the Chenango County Jail on $2,500 cash bail or $10,000 bail bond. An order of protection was issued by the judge.
State Police arrested 53 year old Michael Kane of Bainbridge for DWI, after a trooper monitoring traffic on State Highway 7 in the town of Unadilla observed the vehicle that Kane was operating to have an equipment violation. After a traffic stop was initiated, Kane was arrested and released on appearance tickets returnable to the town of Unadilla Court on November 19th.
Delaware County Sheriff Deputies’ responded to a physical domestic dispute on Dry Brook Rd in the Town of Tompkins in August, upon completion of the investigation 65 year old Gerald Brundege of Tompkins was arrested for Harassment, 53 year old Mary Brundege of North Branch, NY was arrested for Harassment, she was released on a Criminal Summons. 64 year old Erpherd Brundege was arrested on an Arrest Warrant issued by the Town of Tompkins Court for Harassment, Reckless Endangerment & Assault; he was arraigned in the Village of Walton Court and released on his own recognizances. All parties are to appear in the Town of Tompkins Court at a later date to answer the said charges.
State Police arrested 43 year old Arzou Hami of Coventry for Menacing a Police Officer, Menacing, Criminal Possession of a Weapon and Resisting Arrest. A trooper was dispatched to a residence on State Route 235 in the town of Coventry that Hami was allegedly breaking property, allegedly threatened the victim with a Barbecue skewer. When the trooper entered the residence, Hami was sitting on the floor; she displayed a knife and threatened the trooper several times. Hami was tased and was taken into custody. She was arraigned in the town of Afton Court where she was remanded to the Chenango County Jail on $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bail bond. She will return to Afton Court on November 14th.

State Police Responded to an apparent Murder Suicide in the town of Stamford Tuesday, after 57 year old Christopher German of South Kortright failed to show up for work in Cooperstown. Troop C BCI Captain Scott Heggelke Explains:

Captain Heggelke said that the incident occurred after 9:00 PM Monday; The Delaware County Coroner's Office ordered the bodies removed for autopsies, which were being performed at Lourdes Hospital in Binghamton this afternoon, the official cause and approximate time of death is expected to be in the final Autopsy report, which may be released later today.
The Trial for Ernest Franklin of Guilford has been delayed again, until early next year. Franklin & his wife Heather are accused of killing their developmentally disabled son & setting fire to their house to cover up the murder in the town of Guilford in March of 2017. Ernest Franklin is being held without bail pending the start of his trial; Heather Franklin was released on bail.
State Police arrested 25 year old Taylor Nelson of Afton for 2 counts of Criminal LOUDESPossession of a Controlled Substance, Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument, Operating a Motor Vehicle while Impaired by Drugs, & Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia. Troopers were dispatched to the Sunoco on County Route 39 in the town of Bainbridge to check the welfare of a male slumped behind the wheel of his vehicle. Troopers determined that Nelson was impaired and was in possession of a counterfeit $100 bill, methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and items used to measure drug quantity. Nelson was arraigned in the town of Bainbridge Court where he was remanded to the Chenango County Jail on no bail.
State Police arrested 51 year old Marianne Stanislawski of Chenango for Grand Larceny, for allegedly taking advantage of a 75-year-old man who suffers from Alzheimer’s. An investigation revealed that Stanislawski knew the victim for several years; she would visit him weekly at his residence and help him run errands. The investigation further revealed that Stanislawski was making cash withdrawals that the victim did not approve of. Stanislawski was arrested and arraigned in the town of Oxford Court and released on her own recognizance and is to appear in court at a later date. An order of protection was issued by the judge protecting the victim.
The Southern Chenango County Community Listening Session, Hosted by Truth Pharm, will be held this evening in Bainbridge. The main topic of discussion will be the local drug abuse problem; the event will begin at 6:30 PM at Bob’s Diner in Bainbridge.
The results are in from the State Board of Elections in the U.S. Senate seat, Democratic incumbent Kirsten Gillibrand by a 2 to 1 margin over Republican Chele Farley, in local Congressional races, in the 19th District, Democrat Antonio Delgado defeats incumbent John Faso by about 3%. In the 22nd District: Democrat Anthony Brindisi defeats incumbent Claudia Tenney. In State Office races, Incumbent Democrat Andrew Cuomo defeated all challengers to win a 3rd term as Governor, State Comptroller Tom DiNapoli easily defeats all challengers for another term., and the new Attorney General will be Democrat Letitia James. In the race for the 6th District State Supreme Court seat, Republican Joe McBride wins. In area State Senate races, in the 42nd district, Democrat Jennifer Metzger wins over Republican Ann Rabbitt for the seat previously held by the retiring John Bonacic, in the 51st district, Republican Incumbent Jim Seward wins re-election for a 17th term, in the 52nd district , Incumbent Republican Fred Akshar was unopposed. In local State Assembly Races, in the 121 District: Republican John Salka defeats longtime incumbent Bill Magee, in the 122 District: Incumbent Cliff Crouch easily defeats Conservative Nicholas Libous, in the 123rd District: Democratic incumbent Donna Lupardo was unopposed & in the 102nd District: Democrat Aidan O’Conner wins by a slim margin over incumbent Republican Christopher Tague. Rich Devlin is re-elected as Otsego County Sheriff & David Harder is re-elected as Broome County Sheriff.

Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 18-year-old Devon Dority of Hamden for Menacing and Attempted Assault. Dority is accused of attempting to cause physical
injury by throwing a knife at a person during a domestic dispute. Dority was arraigned at Hamden Town Court and was remanded to the Delaware County Jail on $1000

State Police at Deposit arrested 28 year old Rio Myers of Damascus for Driving While Intoxicated, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, & Unlawful Possession of Marihuana. A trooper on patrol was on the lookout for a vehicle operating erratically, a description was provided. The trooper was able to observe the vehicle in the town of Hancock unable to maintain a lane. A traffic stop was initiated and Myers was arrested, he was also found to be in possession of THC wax. He was released on appearance tickets returnable to the town of Hancock Court on October 22.
State Police arrested 25 year old Eric Frank of Oxford for Assault & Criminal Possession of a Weapon, Menacing and Reckless Endangerment, Troopers were dispatched to a residence on County Road 32 in Oxford for a report of a dispute. A complainant told troopers that Frank pointed a shotgun at the complainant then fired it in the air. He’s also accused of punching the complainant in the face then with the stock of the gun. Frank allegedly then struck the mailbox with his vehicle. Frank was arraigned in the town of Oxford Court and remanded to the Chenango County Jail on $15,000 cash bail or $30,000 property bond.

The fire was reported at around 1:00 PM, with occupants escaping the fire, fire fighters from Sidney, Wells Bridge, Sidney center, Bainbridge & Franklin responding. State Police arrested 37 year old Gary Sullivan Jr. of Hancock for DWI, after a trooper was dispatched to a 1 car accident on State Route 17 in Kirkwood. The trooper located Sullivan’s vehicle on its side and Sullivan had with minor injuries. Sullivan was arrested & was released on appearance tickets to town of Kirkwood Court on October 16th.
Chenango County Sheriff's Department investigated a robbery Tuesday Night on Royal Avenue in the Town of Norwich, after a male victim went to Chenango Memorial Hospital with missing teeth, head lacerations and additional trauma. The investigation revealed that the victim was lured to the Royal Avenue address by 19 year old Jade Orlando, who requested marihuana to be delivered to her, Brenden Gager, Hunter Speenburgh and Landon Cummings were hiding nearby, they allegedly assaulted and robbed the victim. All 4 were arrested & were charged with Robbery & Assault; they were arraigned and remanded to the Chenango County Correctional Facility. The City of Norwich Police Department assisted with the investigation. The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are expected.

Chenango County Sheriff's Deputies arrested 55 year old James Miles of Norwich for 3rd degree Assault, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance and Resisting Arrest. Miles is accused of subjecting the victim of a domestic dispute to physical injury and for resisting officers upon being placed in a marked patrol unit, he also was found to be possessing methamphetamines at the time of the arrest. Chenango County Sheriff's department arrested 39 year old Zachariah Zwickel of Endicott on an active arrest warrant issued out of the Lackawanna County Sheriff’s Office in Pennsylvania. Zwickel was wanted as a fugitve from justice for escape, he was spotted in a car in the Town of Norwich. Zwickel was taken into custody without incident following a traffic stop and was arraigned & was remanded to the Chenango County Jail until extradition back to Lackawanna County.
State Police arrested 34 year old Zachary Hearn of Mooresville, North Carolina for Aggravated DWI with a Child 15 or Under As Passenger. Hearn was arrested after he was stopped at a sobriety checkpoint on State Highway 12 in Norwich. A 23-month old child was also in the vehicle. Hearn's B.A.C was .19%, he was arraigned in the town of Norwich Court and released on his own recognizance. He was ordered to reappear on September 20th..

Governor Cuomo announced a joint effort by state agencies to crack down on underage drinking on college campuses and in college towns as the fall semester begins. The State Liquor Authority and the State DMV, working with local law enforcement agencies, will conduct statewide sweeps of locations holding liquor licenses, including bars, restaurants, liquor stores and grocery stores, looking for fake IDs and illegal sales to minors. The combined enforcement effort will begin immediately, Persons under the age of 21 found to be using fake IDs or false documents with the intent of purchasing alcohol can be arrested and have their license revoked for a minimum of 90 days or up to one year. Businesses charged by the State Liquor Authority with underage sales face civil penalties of up to $10,000 per violation, and repeat offenders also face potential suspension or revocation of their liquor licenses.

Walton Central School Superintendent Roger Clough has been placed on administrative leave, the High School Principal Rob Knuschke & Assistant Principal Mark Lamoreaux & Middle School Principal Andy Gates have all resigned in recent weeks, following alleged misconduct by Clough while serving as Superintendent since 2013. Clough has hired a Syracuse Law firm; they have begun the process to sue the District, the Board of Education, and Board President Ronda Williams. The Walton School Board released a statement to WCDO today, first the stated that personnel matters cannot be discussed, secondly, 3 of the Walton Administrators accepted positions in other districts, the Board will consider all options to quickly work on replacements, & they are confident that they will have capable staff in place for their opening day events.

State Police arrested 30 year old Noelle Otto of McDonough for Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance. A trooper was dispatched to the Speedway on State Highway 12 in Norwich for a report of a woman who fell out of her car while at the gas pump, Otto was also found to be in possession of heroin. Otto was released on appearance tickets, and then turned over to a sober third party; she is due in the town of Norwich Court on September 6th.
State Police arrested 64 year old William Lindeborn of Windsor for 2nd degree Menacing, following a complaint of a man chasing another man with a baseball bat in the town of Windsor. Lindeborn is accused of raising a baseball bat at a male who was mowing lawns in the area. He was subsequently arrested and arraigned at Central Arraignment. Lindeborn was released on his own recognizance; an order of protection was issued to the victim.
New Yorkers have until this Sunday to register to vote in the primary elections on September 13th. For those registering in person to the board of elections offices, the application must be submitted by Sunday, those registering by mail must have their application postmarked by August 19th and the County Board of Elections must receive it by Friday August 24th. State Police arrested 36 year old Joseph Burke of Lenox Dale, Massachusetts for Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated with a reportable B.A.C. of .38%. Troopers who responded to a 3-car motor vehicle crash. After an investigation, troopers determined that Burke rear ended a vehicle which then caused that vehicle to strike the rear of a third vehicle. The operator of the second vehicle suffered neck and leg injuries and was transported to Chenango Memorial Hospital. Burke was released on appearance tickets returnable to the town of Columbus Court on September 5th.

Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 32 year old Bradley Wallace of Delhi for 3rd degree assault, Criminal Obstruction of Breathing or Blood Circulation, and unlawful imprisonment, following an investigation of a domestic dispute in the Town of Delhi. Wallace was arraigned in Town of Delhi Court and remanded to the Delaware County Jail in lieu of $500 cash bail or $1000 secured bond.
State Comptroller Tom DiNapoli released the results of an audit of the village of Deposit today. The Audit found that the Board did not ensure all disbursements were approved before payment and listed on an approved abstract & did not ensure all disbursements were supported and for proper purposes. The audit found that the board began to enforce the collection of delinquent real property taxes in March 2016, but $172,900 remains outstanding. DiNapoli's report recommended that the board Review, audit and approve all disbursements before payment, unless otherwise allowed by law, Ensure disbursements are adequately supported and for proper purposes & that they should audit the Clerk-Treasurer’s records and report at least once a year.
Delaware County Sheriff Deputies arrested 34 year old Otto Mullen of Cobleskill for Unlawful Possession of Marihuana, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation and other traffic infractions, after a traffic stop where Mullen was observed traveling at a high rate of speed on State Highway 10 in the Town of Hamden. Mullen is accused of operating a motor vehicle while his driving privileges were suspended & possessing marihuana. Mullen was processed and released with appearance tickets to appear in the Town of Hamden Court at a later date.

Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 26 year old Christina Vitale of Arkville, on an Arrest Warrant Issued by the Delaware County Family Court for a violation of the Family Court Act, and also 1 Count each of Obstructing Governmental Administration, Resisting Arrest, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation. Deputies observed Vitale operating a motor vehicle in the Town of Middletown, they attempted to conduct a traffic stop, Vitale exited the vehicle and fled on foot into a wooded area where she was located and taken into custody. Vitale was arraigned & was remanded to the Delaware County Jail pending action by the Delaware County Family Court; she is scheduled to return to the Town of Middletown Court at a later date.
State Police at Sidney arrested 44 year old Thomas Hewitt of Worcester for Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs, it was also discovered he had an active warrant in Cobleskill. A trooper observed Hewitt operating at a high rate of speed on State Route 8 in Sidney, the vehicle was stopped, Hewitt was arrested and arraigned in the town of Sidney Court. He was turned over to the Cobleskill Police Department to answer to the charges on the warrant. His next court date in the town of Sidney Court is August 23rd.
State Police arrested 20 year old Paige Hendee of Bainbridge for Endangering the Welfare of a Child. A trooper was dispatched to County Route 38 in Bainbridge Saturday after a report of toddlers in the roadway unattended; Hendee was unaware that the children left the residence because she was sleeping. She was subsequently arrested and released on an appearance ticket to the town of Bainbridge Court returnable on August 16th.

State Police investigated an accident Thursday night at county roads 21 & 23 in the town of Walton. A vehicle operated by an unidentified 18 year old female from Lake City Florida, was traveling north on Route 21 when she began to enter Route 23 but then she swerved to stay on Route 21 and she struck an SUV driven by 26 year old Briar Jeffrey Lee Holt of Rock Hill, South Carolina; which was southbound on Route 21, The driver of the first vehicle was ticketed for failure to keep right, she complained of ankle and chest pain & was taken to Delaware Valley Hospital. A 17 year old female passenger in the 1st vehicle had multiple facial lacerations and contusions, & was also taken to Delaware Valley Hospital, and 18 year old male passenger from Sidney Center, who was also in the 1st vehicle, suffered a broken leg and chest pain he was airlifted to Wilson Memorial hospital in Johnson City. 2 people in the Holt SUV were uninjured.
State Police arrested 58 year old Harold Reid of Mount Upton for Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs and 2 counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance. A trooper was dispatched to a report of a male behaving strangely in his vehicle at the Mirabito on East River Road in Bainbridge, Reid is accused of possessing heroin and suboxone, and he was released on appearance tickets for town of Bainbridge Court on August 16th.
State Police arrested 37 year old Jarred Cutting of Masonville for Driving While Intoxicated and felony Aggravated Unlicensed Operation, after a trooper was dispatched to the area of Route 991J in Otego. Cutting was located and arrested, he was arraigned in the town of Hartwick Court and remanded to the Otsego County Jail on $2,500 cash bail or $5,000 bond, he will appear in the town of Otego Court today.
State Police arrested 45 year old Gregory Croft of Sidney for DWI with a BAC of .17%, and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation. State Police & the Broome County District Attorney’s Office, arrested 30-year-old Serina Madden of Nineveh on a warrant for 2nd-degree murder, 1st-degree manslaughter and 2 counts of endangering the welfare of a child after she was indicted by the Broome County Grand Jury. Madden was arrested Monday in Endicott & she was arraigned in Broome County Court this morning. Madden was indicted following a lengthy investigation into the death of her 10-year-old daughter, BellaDonna Loke, who was found deceased in her bedroom in the Town of Colesville on February 18th. Madden is being held at the Broome County Jail and awaiting further court proceedings.
54 Baseball Hall of Fame members are expected to return, July 27 to the 30th, to celebrate the induction of the Hall of Fame Class of 2018. This year's inductees are Vladimir Guerrero, Trevor Hoffman, Chipper Jones, Jack Morris, Jim Thome and Alan Trammell, they will be inducted on Sunday, July 29, with the Induction Ceremony beginning at 1:30 PM at the Clark Sports Center in Cooperstown.
State Police arrested 40 year old Jason Lowe of Greene for DWI & Unlawful possession of marijuana. A trooper patrolling State Highway 206 in Greene observed Lowe traveling at a high rate of speed. After a traffic stop was initiated, the trooper determined Lowe was intoxicated and possessed 13 grams of marijuana. Lowe was released on appearance tickets returnable to the town of Greene Court on July 19th.
Delaware County Sheriff's Deputies are currently investigating the theft of heavy duty York rake owned by the Town of Hancock Highway Department. The orange, heavy duty tow behind York brand rake was stolen from a highway pull off near the intersection of Charles Medlar Road and Bert Medlar Road in the Town of Hancock between Tuesday, July 3, and Monday, July 10. West has been charged with 2nd-degree sexual abuse, forcible touching, & 2 counts of endangering the welfare of a child. Broome County Sheriff’s Office responded to the intersection of Colesville Rd and Sanitaria Springs Rd. in the Town of Colesville at about 6:10 last night for a 2-car motor vehicle accident. A pickup truck driven by 42 year old Christopher Condon of Binghamton collided with a Subaru driven by 56 year old Edson Kitchen of Bainbridge, Deputies determined that the Condon vehicle had the Right Of Way. Kitchen & his wife Mary were pronounced deceased at the scene. Condon sustained minor injuries and was transported to Lourdes Hospital, where he was treated and released. The accident is under investigation.
State Police arrested 26 year old Kayla Burch of Rhinebeck for DWI after Troopers observed a vehicle speeding on Main Street in the village of Unadilla. Burch was arrested and released on appearance tickets returnable to the town of Unadilla on July 9th.
The State Comptroller's office completed an audit of the Village of Afton. The Audit found that the village Board did not properly manage fund balance levels, did not provide proper oversight of the Clerk-Treasurer’s cash receipts and disbursements & did not ensure that water rents and penalties were properly billed. The audit suggestes that the Village Develop a fund balance policy that should be maintained to meet the Village’s needs, Segregate the Clerk-Treasurer’s financial duties or establish sufficient compensating controls to provide additional oversight & Ensure that all system users are properly charged for water use and penalties.
State Police arrested 24 year old Demario Reed of Guilford for DWI with a reported B.A.C of .17%. Troopers were dispatched to a one car crash into a guiderail on State Highway 7 in the town of Otego, where Reed was arrested; he was released and will appear in the town of Otego Court on June 21st.

Delaware County Sheriff’s Office’s arrested 47 year old Shawn Maynard of Randolph, at the Champaign County Jail in Illinois. This arrest followed an investigation of a January 2015 accident on State Highway 30 in the Town of Colchester where a woman suffered serious injuries. Maynard was returned to Delaware County, he was arraigned for Driving While Ability Impaired by a Combination of Drugs and Alcohol, Vehicular Assault & 2nd degree Assault, and he was remanded to the Delaware County Jail pending further court proceedings.

Johnston attempted to turn into a private drive, when another vehicle failed to stop in time and struck Johnson's vehicle, Johnston was arraigned in the Edmeston Town Court and released on his own recognizance. He is scheduled to reappear on June 4th.
State Police arrested 41 year old Joseph Blaylock of Lake Harmony, Pennsylvania, for allegedly possessing unlicensed firearms. Troopers were dispatched to a residence on State Highway 8 in the town of Deposit; a trooper witnessed 2 men around a campfire with a handgun and a shotgun near them. Blaylock was charged with criminal possession of a loaded firearm, criminal possession of an assault rifle and possession of a large capacity ammo-feeding device, he did not have permits for the weapons. 58 year old Robert Catania was issued a ticket for possession of marijuana. Blaylock was arraigned in the town of Deposit and remanded to the Delaware County Jail on $10,000 cash bond pending court action Friday.

The Delaware County Sheriff’s department announced that a man, who crashed his ATV in the town of Hamden Saturday, has died from his injuries. 30 year old Michael Armstrong of Roxbury had crashed his ATV into a tree; he was not wearing a helmet & sustained head injuries and was eventually taken to Basset Hospital in Cooperstown where he succumbed to the injuries Sunday night. A passenger on the Armstrong ATV was wearing a helmet & suffered only minor injuries, 2 others were injured when they crashed into the damaged Armstrong ATV. Deputies believe that alcohol was involved & the investigation is continuing.
Delaware County Sheriff's Office responded to a personal injury, rollover UTV accident on Bloomville Hill Road in the Town of Meredith. the driver; 27 year old Nicholas Santomero, of Brewster, suffered a medical emergency and lost control of the side-by-side UTV which subsequently rolled over, ejecting Santomero and his passenger, 26 year old Cody Petrucci of Harrison. Deputies reported that neither one was wearing a seat belt or a helmet, they were transported to O’Connor Hospital, Petrucci was later transferred to Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown, for treatment of a serious head injury. Nicholas Santomero was treated at O’Connor Hospital and released. The investigation is continuing.
Rehabilitation work on the Route 12 Bridge over Fly Meadow Creek in the Town of Oxford is underway. The $1.1 million project will replace the deck and perform additional structural work to improve the overall condition of the bridge. Work on the bridge is expected to be completed by the end of November 2018.
The Unadilla Town Board will be holding a Special Board Meeting today at 6:30 PM. The board will be making an appointment for the position of Special Police Officer for the Town of Unadilla, the meeting will be held at the Unadilla Town Hall on State Route 7.
The American Cancer Society Tri-Town Relay for Life “PAINT THE TOWN PURPLE” event is being held today, and more Relay For Life events are being held in the Tri-County Area in the coming months, Spokesperson Heather Brewster told WCDO News that they need volunteers and they also need donations:

Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to State route 10 near Beers Brook Road in the Town of Walton to assist the Walton Fire Department following a grass fire. The Investigation determined that the fire was caused by a projectile firework; Deputies arrested 26 year old Brett McLaughlin of Hancock, with Unlawfully Dealing with Fireworks, and for violating the State’s Burn Ban. DEC Law prohibits open burning between March 16th to May 14th. McLaughlin was issued an appearance ticket for Town of Walton Court at a later date.
Delaware County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a reported theft of a road sign in the Town of Delhi that led to the recovery of numerous highway signs & Coldwell Banker/Timberland Properties real estate signs. Deputies reported that they recovered more than 30 signs and charged 18 year old Russell Storey of Andes, 18 year old Dylan Reed of Margaretville, NY, and an unidentified 17 year old Roxbury male with Grand Larceny & Criminal Mischief & they also charged 20 year old Darian Scudder of Halcottsville with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property. All 4 suspects were issued appearance tickets for Town of Middletown Court at a later date.
The Jericho Arts Council will hold their Annual Meeting Today, at 6:00 pm in the gallery of the Town Hall Theater in Bainbridge. The Council board will elect new officers, discuss new initiatives and answer any questions.

State Police were dispatched to 741 Hawleyton Road in the town of Binghamton for a report of a fatal accident involving construction equipment operated on private property. The deceased was identified as 56 year-old Anthony Gawlinski, he was removed to Wilson Hospital for an autopsy, The Investigation is continuing
State Senator Jim Seward announced senate passage of legislation to preserve voter choice in Otsego County. Seward's bill was developed following a minor administrative oversight where Otsego County Board District 10 Representative Dan Wilber inadvertently overlooked the requirement to sign his oath of office within 30 days of his swearing-in triggering an automatic vacancy. While he has been legally reappointed to the position by the county board, his office will be open for election again this November to fill the final year of the term. The new bill, if signed in to law, would allow Wilber to complete the two-year term he was elected to serve. The bill has been forwarded to the state assembly.

Construction is underway in the town of Franklin, where a roundabout is being placed at the intersection of State Route 357 & 28. The construction is expected to be completed by the end of November, Traffic at the North Franklin intersection of Route 357 and Route 28 will be controlled by flaggers with a daily lane closure and alternating traffic, while work is being done between 7:00AM & 5:30 PM, and after work is done for the day, the area will be reopened to two lanes of traffic.
