Springbrook will receive $5 million from Tom Golisano as part of a $360 million donation to over 80 nonprofit organizations. In 2010, Golisano provided funds to establish the Golisano School, which expanded services for children with autism. In 2012, the organization completed the $22.5 million Coming Home Campaign, opening the Tom Golisano Center for Autism, a state-of-the-art facility offering specialized care and support for people with autism.

Local government sales tax collections totaled $5.6 billion in the January to March Quarter, an increase of 1.6%, compared to the same quarter last year. State Comptroller Tom DiNapoli said that this was the lowest rate of growth since the first quarter in 2021, with several upstate regions experiencing a year-over-year decline. Locally, Delaware County had 1 of the steepest declines at -6.4%.

35 year old Dimitri Escrich of Deposit pleaded guilty to Possessing a Sexual Performance by a child, in Delaware County Court, an indictment alleged that Escrich possessed a video depicting a child participating in a sexual performance, he pleaded guilty & will be sentenced to 10 years felony sex offender probation, and 20 years at minimum of being a registered sex offender on June 10th in Delaware County Court.

Carro is charged with multiple counts of Criminal Tax Fraud, Offering a False Instrument for Filing and Repeated Failure to File Personal Income Tax Returns, if convicted, he faces 10 to 20 years in state prison. Carro was arraigned in the village of Sidney court and was remanded pending a bail hearing.

Pound of Port Dickinson claimed he was held at gunpoint by unknown males and
forced into a vehicle, it was determined
that a robbery did not take place and the incident was actually an unsuccessful
marijuana drug deal. Pound was charged
with making a false written statement and processed at the Sheriff’s Office and
released. He is to appear in the Town of Dickinson Court on a later date to

39 year old Jason Phoenix of Walton was arrested by State
Troopers for DWI with a BAC that was almost twice the legal limit. Phoenix was stopped during a road check on

and was taken into custody without incident.

Arts Council hosted the 2019 Chenango Area Student Art Show, Lucy Funke and
Chenango Music Scholarship awards ceremony last Friday. The Lucy Funke
Scholarship was awarded to Riley Webster of Sherburne Earlville & Andrea
Dempsey of the Oxford Academy, the Chenango Music Scholarship goes to Matthew
Ryan of the Sherburne Earlville district, The Chenango Area Student Show
winners in a variety of categories were Riley Webster of Sherburne Earlville,
Guin Warren of Norwich, Ashley Spooner of Afton, Samantha Emerson of Oxford,
Shanee Baker Bush of Oxford & Madisyn Stowell of Sherburne Earlville. All eligible pieces will be entered in
Congressman Anthony Brindisi’s Congressional Art Show in Utica; the winning
entry will have a chance to be displayed in Washington for a year.

County Department of Public Works will be closing County Route 44 in the Town
of Sidney to through traffic on Monday at 7:00 am for bridge repairs. The road
will be closed at Bridge 44-1 which is located 0.25 miles north of the
intersection with State Route 357. It is
expected that the road will be remain closed until Friday, April 19th. The
detour will be Covered Bridge Road to State Route 357.

5th annual Spring Fest on May 4th from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The cost for a 12-foot by 12-foot space is

State Attorney General Letitia James will host a round-table discussion regarding the opioid epidemic in Binghamton this afternoon. James has invited local Elected Officials, Treatment Providers, Addiction Experts & Impacted Individuals. campaign to raise awareness of the addiction services available in New York
State for women who are pregnant. The campaign reminds women that it is OK to
ask for help, and that they should talk to a healthcare professional about the
services and medications that can help treat their addiction and support a

program history at the Floyd L. Maines Arena in Binghamton yesterday. The Hawkeyes Defeated Middle Early College, a
Charter School from Buffalo 71-61 in the title game, Cooperstown’s Jack Lambert
was named tournament MVP after scoring a combined 76 points in 2 games at the
Final 4, John Kennedy was named to the All-Tournament Team for
Cooperstown. The win came 1 day after a

The Delaware county emergency services department announced that Delaware County sent 5 crews to Ulster County this morning. Bloomville, Delhi (2 crews), Sidney and Walton. They all arrived safely at their staging area, had a morning briefing meeting and were sent to the woods shortly after 8am. They are now out working the fire lines.
On Saturday, May 7th from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM, the Town of Hartwick will hold its annual Clean Sweep event. Please note the change in hours. Volunteers are needed to pick up roadside trash and to help at the Town Hall the day of the event. Any individual or group interested in volunteering at the Town Hall on the day of the event or in cleaning up a section of road should call 293-6654.
