Delaware County District Attorney's Office announced a 7 count indictment against 46 year old Arthur Cotten of Sidney. Sidney Police responded July 19th to a domestic dispute, where Cotten is accused of damaging a property and attempting to set it and responding officers on fire. The Indictment charges Cotten with Attempted Arson, Attempted Assault, Reckless Endangerment, Criminal Possession of Dangerous Weapon, Resisting Arrest, Obstructing Governmental Justice & Menacing.

Mohawk Valley Gives, an annual one-day on-line fundraiser, returns on September 19, 2025, Hosted locally by the Community Foundation of Otsego County, Mohawk Valley Gives this year will provide more than 80 participating Otsego County nonprofits a fundraising opportunity by using a secure online platform. Community Foundation Director Jeff Katz explains some can start to donate earlier than Friday:

The State DOT announced that I-88 westbound will be closed near Exit 8 in Bainbridge for pavement repairs, today from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Drivers should follow the posted detours, utilizing the off-ramp at Exit 8, then crossing State Route 206 to the ensuing on-ramp, back onto Interstate 88 westbound. Flaggers will be stationed at the intersection to control traffic.

The Gilbertsville-Mount Upton’s Board of Education announced that they have offered Heather Wilcox the position of Superintendent, at Monday night’s community forum presentations at the GMU Auditorium. Wilcox is a Gilbertsville native and GMU graduate who has spent the last 13 years with the school district, Pending the successful negotiation of a contract, the Board of Education will appoint Wilcox as GMU’s next superintendent during an upcoming Board meeting. Her anticipated start date is August 1st, 1 day after Annette Hammond is set to retire as GMU’s superintendent.
