Otsego County Department of Health reported 16 new COVID cases reported Wednesday, they report 91 active cases, 11 are hospitalized, they've had 1340 total confirmed cases with 8 deaths, and 766 cases are linked to SUNY Oneonta & 71 confirmed cases linked to Hartwick College.

The Delaware County Chamber of Commerce & Delaware Opportunities have teamed up for the annual Toys for Tots campaign, Area drop off points include Delhi Telephone Company, Arc of Delaware County, Beaver Mountain Log Homes in Deposit, Mirabito Energy Products on Steiner Road in Sidney & the Sidney Airport. The campaign runs through tomorrow when Chamber staff will pick up the toys from member businesses, more information is available at 746-1600.
Broome County Health Department reported 3 more deaths from COVID 19 Wednesday, they have had 134 deaths since March; they've had 5395 cases so far, with 4693 recoveries and over 4000 are being monitored by the department.

Governor Cuomo announced that Hospitalizations from COVID 19 have dropped to 576, the lowest number since March 17th. The number of patients on respirators has dropped to 70; there were 5 deaths from the virus Thursday statewide, the death toll is up to 25,150. 644 people tested positive Thursday, about .9% of all tested, bringing the Statewide Total to 415,014.
Chenango County Public Health announced that they have had 206 total confirmed cases of COVID 19 since March, with 162 Active Quarantines, 1 current Hospitalization, 7 deaths, and over 16,200 Tests have been performed.

The testing site is limited to people who are NOT sick, but want to be tested for the Coronavirus, The testing will be by a nasal swab. The testing site will be drive up only, individuals are required to stay in their vehicle & wear a face mask. Pre-Registration is required at 547-4279.

The State Health Department reports that the total number of Coronavirus cases is 391,220 after 805 new positive tests on Thursday, there were 14 deaths attributed to the virus, the state death toll since March is 24,814. The number of hospitalizations dropped below 1,000 Wednesday, for the first time since March 18, the highest total was 18,825 hospitalizations on April 12th.
The death of 37-year-old Casie Weese of Glen Aubrey back in March has been ruled accidental. Weese died of hypothermia, there was no trauma or sexual assault, Weese went missing March 1st, after she left her husband behind after their vehicle suffered a flat tire, she was found March 5th in a wooded area near I-86 & State route 434 near the Broome-Tioga County line.
The Arc Otsego has been awarded $60,000 in grants from the Trustee Management Board of NYSARC Trust Services to support The Arc Otsego’s guardianship* and recreation programs for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities who would not otherwise have a legal guardian or advocate. Governor Cuomo welcomed the Floating Naval Hospital to New
York City today, giving the city added help for its beleaguered Hospitals at
the epicenter of the Coronavirus outbreak.
Cuomo said that the number of positive cases statewide is 66,497, the
number of deaths jumped to 1,218, the number Hospitalized is now over 9500, the
number of ICU Beds occupied is 2352, & the number discharged from hospitals
is now 4202. The statistics also showed
that the rate of increase is slowing down:

the "Stay At Home" mandate like it was optional:

Local officials have expressed concern that too many people
are leaving the most affected areas and are coming to Otsego & Delaware

threatening the local population and healthcare systems.

Delaware/Otsego will receive $5,000, the Food Bank of the Southern Tier will
get $7,500 for meal delivery programs, Delaware Opportunities receives $15,000
for meal delivery programs, Chenango United Way gets $15,000 for their
community response, Opportunities for Otsego receives $15,000 for their
community response to COVID-19, & ARC of Delaware County receives $2,500
for the Walton Food Pantry. More
