The autopsy of Melina Frattolin was performed Monday, the preliminary results are that the 9 year old died from Asphyxia due to drowning & Homicide. State Police are asking for the public's help in gathering additional video evidence or eyewitness accounts of the Toyota Prius driven by 45 year old Luciano Frattolin as they traveled from July 11, until July 19, on the I-87 Northway between Exits 28 through exit 20 during the evening hours of July 19, the evidence can be sent by email to crimetip@troopers.ny.gov. Luciano Frattolin was arrested and charged with Murder and Concealment of a Human Corpse, he is being held in the Essex County Jail.

Chenango County Sheriff's Office arrested 27 year old Austin DeMuth of Guilford following a vehicle pursuit Monday afternoon with a motorcycle, from the Town of Smithville & into Cortland County & Broome County. DeMuth was taken into custody, following a pursuit on foot in Whitney Point, he was transported to Wilson Hospital with minor injuries, & he was charged with Unlawful fleeing, Obstruction of Governmental Administration, Resisting Arrest and numerous traffic violations. DeMuth also had a warrant out of the Town of Norwich Court, he was arraigned in the City of Norwich Court and was remanded with no bail and is to return to court on a later date.

Chenango County Sheriff's Office responded Wednesday to a report of a trespass in progress at a Town of Norwich residence. A male and two females were found and detained at the location, the vehicle driven to the residence was reported stolen from New Hartford in June. Deputies Arrested Aaron Gabriel, Tami Lyn Gray of Norwich and Jennifer Pollock of Norwich, for 2nd degree Burglary, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property and Conspiracy, all are being held at the Chenango County Correctional Facility.

The Greene Fire Department reported last night that they responded to a bridge washout at Wylie Road & Paradise Valley Road.  Greene, Afton, McDonough & Coventry fire Departments were also responding today to reports of downed trees & power lines from last night's storms.  NYSEG reported about a dozen Chenango County customers were without power this morning.

Hartwick College Athletics officially renamed their annual Golf Tournament after coach and alumnus, Nick Lambros, from the class of 1959.  “The Classic Nick Lambros Golf Tournament” will be held on Saturday, September 25 at Oneonta Country Club with a 1 p.m. shotgun start.  For more information or to register for the tournament, go to hartwickalumni.org, or call 431-4431.

Cameron Beckman is the 2021 DICK'S Sporting Goods Open tournament champion.  Beckman carded a 68 and finished the tournament 12 under at the En-Joie Golf Course in Endicott this weekend.

State Police are investigating a fatal hit and run crash that killed 37 year old Michael Vargas of Laurens, Friday Night to State Route 205, for a crash involving a vehicle and bicyclist, the vehicle left the scene, & Vargas was pronounced dead at the scene.   State Police arrested 22 year old Michael Goodspeed of Mount Vision, for Vehicular Manslaughter & Leaving the Scene of a Fatal Motor Collision.   Goodspeed was transported to Otsego County Central Arraignment and Processing.

The Rotary Club of Sidney and the Cullman Developmental Center are teaming up to create a series of events for children this summer, this 1st is this Sunday at Sidney Veterans Memorial Park from 1:00 to 3:00 PM, Rotary Spokesman Larry Halbert explains:

The Chenango County Sheriff's Office responded to a car
& motorcycle accident Saturday night at about 9:25 PM at State Route 206
& Moran Road in the Town of Coventry.
Investigators said that 22 year old Vincent Corbo of Marathon was
operating a 1998 Suzuki motorcycle on State Route 206, when 19 year old Sean
Snyder of Afton was making a left turn from Moran Rd onto State Hwy 206, &
the vehicles collided.  Corbo was
transported to Wilson Hospital, where he later died from his injuries, Snyder
sustained a head injury was also transported to Wilson Hospital.

The Delaware County Chamber of Commerce monthly 1st Friday
Eat & Meet Networking Breakfast will be held on Friday, October 4th from

State Police arrested 38 year old Michael Sullivan of Agawam, Massachusetts & 30 year old Gabrielle Graham of Pittsfield, Massachusetts for criminal possession of a controlled substance, Sullivan was additionally charged with Unlawful Possession of Marihuana. Troopers received a complaint of a disabled vehicle on I-88 in the town of Afton; they located marijuana and a smoking pipe with residue. Sullivan and Graham were arraigned in the town of Afton Court and remanded to the Chenango County Jail on $1,000 cash bail or $2,000 bond. Their next court date is scheduled for April 23, 2018 in the town of Afton Court.

Democratic Congressional candidate Gareth Rhodes will appear in Sidney today. Rhodes will appear at the Sidney Golf & Country Club this morning at 9:00 AM, he is one of 7 announced candidates running for the Democratic Party Nomination for the right to face incumbent Republican Congressman John Faso for the 19th District.

Village Elections will be held in several local villages tomorrow. Locally in Afton, Sally Muller & Cynthia Burnett are running for Mayor, in Walton, Bruce Dolph, Stephen Condon, Gregory Miller & Joseph Cetta are running for 2 seats on the village board, In Unadilla, Paul Baldwin, Matthew Glynn & Jeff Jones are running for 2 seats on the village board. Country music star Blake Shelton was announced today as this year's concert at the DICK’S Sporting Goods Open. The Golf Tournament will run from August 13th to August 19th at En-Joie Golf Club in Endicott. The concert will be held the evening of Friday, August 17th, tickets go on sale March 28th through Ticketmaster.

State Police arrested 39 year old Jillenia Murphy of Afton for DWI, Obstructing Governmental Administration and several traffic infractions. Troopers were dispatched to Oak Hill Road in the town of Afton for a 1-car accident, they located Murphy and her vehicle stuck in the snow. Murphy refused to submit to a breath sample or allow troopers to take her fingerprints and was charged with obstructing governmental administration. Murphy was arraigned and remanded to the Chenango County Correctional Facility on $500 cash bail or $2,000 bond; she faces court action in the town of Afton Court & Town of Unadilla Court on March 26th.

The Chenango County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported burglary Tuesday at the Canasawacta Country Club, a suspect had stolen cash and a golf cart; a second golf cart had been stolen previously. Deputies discovered a golf cart in a ditch in the area of Owens Road in Plymouth. 21 year old Jeremiah Garbett of Plymouth was arrested, The stolen cash and both stolen golf carts were recovered, Garbett was arraigned in the Town of Norwich Court and remanded to the Chenango County Correctional Facility on $10,000 to reappear at a later date.

The Afton Chamber of Commerce will hold the formal recognition of Rich Cuthbertson as "Citizen Of The Year" and Liz Dawson’s "Main Street Grill and Bakery" as the Business of The Year. The dinner will take place on Sunday, May 15 at the Afton River Club from 3-6 p.m. Presentation of this year’s honorees will be performed by State Senator Fred Akshar. The annual Big Wheels Golf Tournament, held at the Delhi College Golf Course, will take place on Friday, May 13, 2016, according to the Big Wheels tournament committee. The event serves as a primary fundraiser for programs and services which provide assistance to Delaware County senior citizens. The entry fee this year will be $60, which will be all inclusive, covering greens fees for 18 holes of golf, cart use, guaranteed prizes and a post tournament dinner.
