DeMuth was taken into custody, following a pursuit on foot in Whitney Point, he was transported to Wilson Hospital with minor injuries, & he was charged with Unlawful fleeing, Obstruction of Governmental Administration, Resisting Arrest and numerous traffic violations. State Police are investigating a fatal hit and run crash that killed 37 year old Michael Vargas of Laurens, Friday Night to State Route 205, for a crash involving a vehicle and bicyclist, the vehicle left the scene, & Vargas was pronounced dead at the scene. State Police arrested 22 year old Michael Goodspeed of Mount Vision, for Vehicular Manslaughter & Leaving the Scene of a Fatal Motor Collision. Goodspeed was transported to Otsego County Central Arraignment and Processing.

The Chenango County Sheriff's Office responded to a car
& motorcycle accident Saturday night at about 9:25 PM at State Route 206
& Moran Road in the Town of Coventry.
Investigators said that 22 year old Vincent Corbo of Marathon was
operating a 1998 Suzuki motorcycle on State Route 206, when 19 year old Sean
Snyder of Afton was making a left turn from Moran Rd onto State Hwy 206, &
the vehicles collided. Corbo was
transported to Wilson Hospital, where he later died from his injuries, Snyder
sustained a head injury was also transported to Wilson Hospital.

State Police arrested 38 year old Michael Sullivan of Agawam, Massachusetts & 30 year old Gabrielle Graham of Pittsfield, Massachusetts for criminal possession of a controlled substance, Sullivan was additionally charged with Unlawful Possession of Marihuana. Troopers received a complaint of a disabled vehicle on I-88 in the town of Afton; they located marijuana and a smoking pipe with residue. Sullivan and Graham were arraigned in the town of Afton Court and remanded to the Chenango County Jail on $1,000 cash bail or $2,000 bond. Their next court date is scheduled for April 23, 2018 in the town of Afton Court.

State Police arrested 39 year old Jillenia Murphy of Afton for DWI, Obstructing Governmental Administration and several traffic infractions. Troopers were dispatched to Oak Hill Road in the town of Afton for a 1-car accident, they located Murphy and her vehicle stuck in the snow. Murphy refused to submit to a breath sample or allow troopers to take her fingerprints and was charged with obstructing governmental administration. Murphy was arraigned and remanded to the Chenango County Correctional Facility on $500 cash bail or $2,000 bond; she faces court action in the town of Afton Court & Town of Unadilla Court on March 26th.

The Chenango County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported burglary Tuesday at the Canasawacta Country Club, a suspect had stolen cash and a golf cart; a second golf cart had been stolen previously. Deputies discovered a golf cart in a ditch in the area of Owens Road in Plymouth. 21 year old Jeremiah Garbett of Plymouth was arrested, The stolen cash and both stolen golf carts were recovered, Garbett was arraigned in the Town of Norwich Court and remanded to the Chenango County Correctional Facility on $10,000 to reappear at a later date.
