State Police arrested 44 year old Rodney Oakley of Plymouth, for Scheming to Defraud, 5 counts of 4th degree Grand Larceny & 8 counts of Petty Larceny. State Police received a report last November that Oakley, who was the town Highway Department Superintendent, was allegedly using town money for his own personal use, it was determined that since December 2020 Oakley allegedly had been using town funds to purchase various car parts, tools and materials for his own personal use, he was issued an appearance for the town of Plymouth Court on February 22nd.

Firefighters from Norwich, North Norwich, Plymouth & Sherburne responded to a structure fire at 145 Morgan Acres north of the City of Norwich Monday morning. Norwich Fire Chief Jan Papelino told WCDO News that a neighbor removed a dog, firefighters kept the fire from spreading further into the structure, which sustained sufficient damage, the investigation is continuing.

Chenango County Sheriff's Office arrested 36 year old Daniel Rice of Plymouth for allegedly attempting to have sexual relations with a 15 year old female. Deputies responded following a complaint of a man making arrangements to perform sexual acts with a 15 year old victim in the Town of Norwich. Rice was charged with Attempted Rape & Attempted Dissemination of Indecent Material to a Minor, he was arraigned in the Town of Norwich Court and remanded to the Chenango County Correctional Facility on $20,000 cash bail. Rice is due back in the Town of Norwich Court at a later date.

Norwich Firefighters responded Saturday night to a fire at an apartment building at 32-34 Silver Street. one person was found unresponsive & was airlifted to Upstate Hospital's Burn Unit in Syracuse, 1 dog died in the fire. The Norwich Fire Department was assisted at the scene by the Plymouth and North Norwich Fire Departments. 7 people were displaced by the fire, the cause of the blaze is under investigation.

Sidney Police Department conducted a traffic stop for an equipment violation today that resulted in the arrest of 2 people. Sidney Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle due to its rear license plate lamp not working, the driver, 23 year old Colin Stanton of Sidney was charged with Aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, the passenger 36 year old Tina Bremner of Plymouth was charged with 2 counts of Criminal possession of a controlled substance, both were released on appearance tickets for Village of Sidney Court at a later date.

State Police reported that the crash occurred when a 22-year-old male from Plymouth, lost control of his vehicle stuck a minivan, driven by a 31-year-old male of Norwich, the mini van was overturned in the accident & the driver was transported to AO Fox Hospital's Tri-Town Campus for treatment. State Police arrested Chenango County Sheriff Candidate Debra Cubbedge of Norwich on Tuesday, along with 21 year old Kymani Frazer of Yonkers, they were both arrested for 2nd degree criminal trespass, after Troopers were dispatched to a dispute at a residence on County Road 44 in the town of Plymouth. State Police said that Frazer and Cubbedge entered the residence without permission and remained inside unlawfully; they left prior to the trooper’s arrival and were located in the City of Norwich. Cubbedge & Frazer were released, and will return to Plymouth Town Court on October 27.

Chenango County Sheriff’s Deputies responded Sunday to an address in the Town of Plymouth to locate 26 year old Chelsey Hendricks on an Arrest Warrant. Deputies located a Hendricks sitting in the driver's seat of a vehicle, While Deputies were taking Hendricks into custody, Drugs and Drug Paraphernalia were located & the vehicle was seized. The investigation revealed that Hendricks possessed Methamphetamine, she was arraigned on the Warrant and for Criminal possession of a Controlled Substance & Criminal Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and she was remanded to the Chenango County Correctional Facility without bail pending future court action. The investigation is ongoing & more charges are anticipated.

Chenango County Sheriff's Office arrested 43 year old Robert Mohammed of Plymouth for DWI and false personation, following a traffic stop on State Highway 12 in the Town of Oxford. Mohammed is accused of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol & providing a false identity to the investigating Deputy. Broome County District Attorney Michael Korchak announced today that 38 year old Derrick Cervini of Binghamton has been sentenced to 13 years in New York State prison and 20 years parole for 1st degree criminal sexual act. Cervini was arrested for allegedly performing sexual acts with an underage female.

27 year old Zachary Ketchum, who was charged with 2 Counts of Reckless
Endangerment & menacing & 1 Count Criminal Mischief. Ketchum was arraigned, released, &

County Jail on $50,000 cash bail, the male suspect has charges pending, the investigation

Street. Residents chased the Nichols into a wooded area, Nichols allegedly
stabbed one of the people pursuing him, & biting another person. The
stabbing victim was hospitalized for 10 wounds to the head and torso. The biting
victim was treated and released from the hospital. Nichols was charged with 1st-degree assault,
3rd-degree assault, criminal possession of a weapon and petty larceny &
trespassing.

Demuth was located hiding in his residence in the Town of Plymouth, he was arraigned in the Town of North Norwich Court and remanded to the Chenango County Correctional Facility on $5,000 cash bail. The investigation is ongoing and additional arrests are expected.

Chenango County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Town of Plymouth man for 3 counts of Grand Larceny, Scheming to Defraud, and Issuing a Bad Check, in Sherburne and Plymouth. 48 year old Russell Davis of Plymouth was arrested after he allegedly stole three separate vehicles from three separate victims using checks with insufficient funds. 2 of the vehicles were recovered & returned, the 3rd was sold for scrap. Davis was arraigned & was remanded to the Chenango County Correctional Facility without bail. The investigation is ongoing and more arrests are expected.

Delaware County Sheriff Deputy’s arrested 22 year old Cecil Garcia of Plymouth, Pennsylvania and 22 year old Miguel Cordoba of Roselle, New Jersey for Unlawful Possession of Marihuana after a traffic stop for failure to dim headlights on State Highway 10 in the Town of Hamden. Garcia was also arrested for Aggravated Unlicensed Operation after learning that his privileges in the state of New York were revoked. Cordoba and Garcia are to appear in the Town of Hamden Court at a later date.
