The Binghamton Rumble Ponies invite fans to their annual Meet the Rumble Ponies Dinner on Tuesday, April 3rd at the Holiday Inn in Downtown Binghamton. Tickets are on sale, at the Starting Gate Box Office at NYSEG Stadium. On the night of the dinner, Rumble Ponies players will arrive at 5:30 PM for the “Meet the Rumble Ponies” autograph reception. Dinner will be served at 7:00 PM followed by a special event including an interview with returning Rumble Ponies manager Luis Rojas and introductions of the new coaching staff and players. The Rumble Ponies kick off the 2018 season at home on Thursday, April 5 against the Portland Sea Dogs at 6:35 PM.

NYSEG has restored power to nearly all of the more than 203,000 customers that were impacted by the 2 winter storms that hit the region over the past week. The storms had heavy, wet snow and high winds that caused severe damage to electrical infrastructure through the Northeast. NYSEG crews, tackled more than 3,000 downed wires and hundreds of broken poles in the hardest hit areas of The Catskills.

Former Binghamton Mayor Juanita Crabb and former Binghamton Triplet Jerry Coleman will be inducted into Binghamton’s Baseball Shrine in a ceremony at NYSEG Stadium before the Binghamton Rumble Ponies game tonight at 7:05 PM. Crabb was instrumental in bringing professional baseball back to the Southern Tier in the 90’s, Coleman was a member of the 1946 Binghamton Triplets, he played for 9 seasons in the Major Leagues with the New York Yankees, appearing in 6 World Series, he was MVP in the 1950 Fall Classic. Coleman also spent more than 4 decades calling games for the San Diego Padres. Binghamton’s Baseball Shrine has 65 members currently.

The Binghamton Rumble Ponies announced that the Eastern League has selected Binghamton to host the 2020 All-Star Game at NYSEG Stadium. The multi-day event will feature the top prospects in the Eastern League Additional information about the events comprising Binghamton's 2020 Eastern League All-Star Game will be made available at a later date. Binghamton hosted the Double-A All-Star Game in 1994, but has never hosted the Eastern League classic.

The Binghamton Rumble Ponies announced that former New York Met great Darryl Strawberry would be at NYSEG Stadium on July 2nd. The team announced that they will have a special Meet and Greet Picnic that guarantees fans a photo, an autographed item, and a raffle ticket to win a Strawberry event worn jersey. The Binghamton Rumble Ponies have rescheduled their Prevention Night for tonight. No alcohol will be served during the Rumble Ponies' game this evening, as they have teamed up with the Broome Opioid Abuse Council Drug Free Communities for the event. Tickets from previosu rain outs for this event will be honored tonight at 6:35 PM @ NYSEG Stadium.

Binghamton police are investigating the fatal shooting of 24-year-old Tyquan Gumbs at 10 Fayette Street in the city Friday night. Gumbs was found at the rear of the building, anyone with information is asked to contact the Police Department at 772-7080.

The Binghamton Rumble Ponies announced a partnership with Broome Opioid Abuse Council Drug Free Communities to provide a Prevention Night at NYSEG Stadium tonight. no alcohol will be served during the Rumble Ponies’ game, as part of this year’s “We Care Wednesdays”. For the 3rd time in the past 4 NFL seasons, football goal posts manufactured by Sportsfield Specialties in Delhi, will make an appearance framing the playing field at the Super Bowl. This year’s game will be hosted at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas on Sunday. Company officials reported that their goal posts were also used at MetLife Stadium in 2014 when the Seattle beat Denver & again in 2015 when the New England beat Seattle at University of Phoenix Stadium & also in 2008, when Sportsfield's goal posts were 1st used in a Super Bowl as the New York Giants upset the New England Patriots.

NYSEG is conducting a routine inspection of transmission lines by Drones this week. Inspections began last month in the Broome county area, they will begin in the Oneonta today through FEBRUARY 8th.

The Binghamton Rumble Ponies are getting ready for their inaugural season with the new team name, they will be holding a talent contest later this month for on field activities between innings. Team Spokesman Ed Saunders explains:

Saunders also said that construction is underway at Nyseg Stadium, for a 2.5 million dollar renovation, which includes a new party deck, as well as underground facilities for the players for training purposes. The season gets underway in April.

State and Local Leaders, as well as Binghamton Rumble Ponies officials announced this afternoon their plans for 2.5 Million dollars in upgrades to NYSEG Stadium. Plans call for new efficient lighting, new ticket Kiosks, & a new family fun zone, Nyseg Stadium first opened in April of 1992.

On Thursday, November 3, a new team name for the Binghamton Double A baseball team will be unveiled at NYSEG Stadium. Fans voted on a new team name all season, the new name, logo and colors will be revealed in a ceremony on the field starting at Noon. The 6 names selected from a pool of over 1,500 fan submissions, are: the Bullheads, Gobblers, Rocking Horses, Rumble Ponies, Stud Muffins or Timber Jockeys. The Double-A Mets affiliate will open the 2017 season on the road in New Hampshire on April 6, the home opener at NYSEG Stadium will be on April 13th.

The 2016 Little League World Series Champion Maine-Endwell team will be honored in a ceremony on Saturday at 6:30 PM prior to the Binghamton Mets game against the Erie Sea Wolves. The 11 players, along with manager Scott Rush and his coaching staff will be recognized for their 24-0 season that finished with the championship last Sunday. Maine Endwell Little League is headed to the USA Finals in Williamsport, after defeating a team from Bowling Green Kentucky yesterday in the latest action of the Little League World Series. The Binghamton Mets announced that NYSEG Stadium would host the Official Watch Party for the Championship Game on Saturday at 3:30pm on the stadiums big screen. Parking will be free and there will be no admission charges. Limited concessions options will be available. Maine Endwell's team will play the winner of today's Tennessee Kentucky match up in Saturday's game.

The National Baseball Hall of Fame's 2016 Induction Ceremony with Mike Piazza & Ken Griffey Jr. drew about 50,000 people to the Clark Sports Center in Cooperstown Sunday. Ken Griffey Junior's father, Ken Griffey Senior was an outstanding player in his own right. Junior discussed being able to play in Seattle with his dad briefly, and for his dad taking him the see the Cincinnati Reds "Big Red Machine of the 70's" as a young boy:

Griffey wrapped up his speech by putting on Hall of Fame Baseball cap, and turning it around backwards like he did during his playing days, at the last minute urging of Hall Of Famer Frank Thomas. Taylor Spink Award winner Dan Shaughnessy honored for their broadcasting & writing about Baseball.

NYSEG Reminds area residents to report any downed trees or power lines due to strong summer thunderstorms. Residents are also reminded to never touch downed power lines, call Nyseg & law enforcement immediate if you pot downed power lines. Last Monday , a Town of North Norwich resident was arrested for Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs and Driving Across Hazard Markings following a Motor Vehicle Accident in the Town of Norwich. Deputies arrested 30 year old Robert Youngblood following a one car motor vehicle collision on State Highway 12 in the Town of Norwich, he was found to be operating a motor vehicle while being in an impaired state due to drugs. Youngblood was issued tickets to appear in the Town of Norwich Court at a later date. The collision caused a utility pole to be severed, State Highway 12 had to be closed for 8 ½ hours while NYSEG worked on the lines.

The Binghamton Mets announced NYSEG Stadium would go tobacco-free starting in the 2017 season. Inside the gates, fans will no longer be allowed to use cigarettes, cigars, smokeless tobacco, e-cigarettes nor vaporizers. Tobacco users will have a special smoking area at all games outside the gates of the stadium. The tobacco-free policy will go into effect on Opening Day in April 2017.

Syracuse University’s efforts to connect with Alumni & Sport team fans comes to NYSEG Stadium tonight. The 'No Huddle Tour' will have new SU Football coach Dino Babers and Basketball coach Jim Boeheim participating in a Meet and Greet with fans on the right field line in the stadium beginning at 5:30 pm, prior to tonight’s Binghamton Meets game..

The Binghamton Senators & the Binghamton Mets announced that they will offer a “Downtown Doubleheader” ticket package for their game on Saturday, April 9th, that will include a ticket to both team’s games and a specialty dual logo t-shirt. The B-Mets will host the New Hampshire Fisher Cats on Saturday at 1:05 p.m. at NYSEG Stadium before the B-Sens host the Albany Devils at 7:05 p.m. in the Floyd L. Maines Veterans Memorial Arena.   The Binghamton Mets players will be at the B-Sens game Saturday night to sign autographs on the concourse and interact with fans. The ticket package is only $23 prior to the games, and can be purchased online through the B-Sens website, or by calling the B-Sens offices at 722-7367.

NYSEG reported that thousands were without power due to high winds late Saturday night into Sunday afternoon. about 2000 were without power in Broome & Chenango Counties this morning, This afternoon, about 100 customers were without power in Delaware & Otsego Counties. NYSEG Crews are working to restore power as quickly as possible.

Binghamton Mets New Owner John Hughes announced that the team would remain as a New York met Affiliate, but he is soliciting ideas from fans to rebrand the team & give it a new name synonymous with the Greater Binghamton Area. Hughes revealed the Double-A affiliate of the New York Mets would play at NYSEG Stadium under a new name starting in 2017. The team will launch a “Name the Team” contest on Opening Day, April 7. Submissions will be accepted through April 25th, when the top 6 possible team names will be unveiled. Fans can vote for their favorite name for two weeks via the team website. The new official name of the Double-A Mets will be revealed in October 2016.

The Binghamton Mets announced that the annual "Welcome Back B-Mets" Dinner is Wednesday, April 6 at the Holiday Inn in downtown Binghamton. B-Mets players and mascots will arrive at 5:30 PM for the "Meet the Mets" autograph reception. Dinner will be served at 7:00 PM followed by a special baseball program with team and manager introductions. The Binghamton Mets have formally announced a new owner; Buffalo area businessman John Hughes & his group are the new owners of the team.

Hughes is the head of Evans Street Baseball, Incorporated, they will honor the player development contract with New York Mets through 2020, and the NYSEG stadium lease through 2022. General Manager Jim Weed and staff have been retained.

Starting November 30th, the Binghamton Mets will be accepting toy donations at NYSEG Stadium for the "Toys for Tots" drive this Christmas season. All fans that donate a new toy will receive one free ticket to the Binghamton Mets game on Opening Day in April 2016. Fans can bring new, unwrapped donations to NYSEG Stadium during business hours Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM to claim their free 2016 Opening Day ticket. Donations will be accepted until December 18th.

The Binghamton Mets secured their playoff spot with the Divisional Round Best of 5 series beginning tonight at NYSEG Stadium at 6:35 pm; game 2 will be Thursday night at 6:35 pm with Post game Fireworks scheduled. If the B-Mets advance, the Championship Round Best of 5 series would begin on Tuesday, September 15th at 6:35 pm and continue on Wednesday, September 16th at 6:35 pm at NYSEG Stadium.
