The Binghamton Rumble Ponies invite fans to their annual Meet the Rumble Ponies Dinner on Tuesday, April 3rd at the Holiday Inn in Downtown Binghamton. Tickets are on sale, at the Starting Gate Box Office at NYSEG Stadium. On the night of the dinner, Rumble Ponies players will arrive at 5:30 PM for the “Meet the Rumble Ponies” autograph reception. Dinner will be served at 7:00 PM followed by a special event including an interview with returning Rumble Ponies manager Luis Rojas and introductions of the new coaching staff and players. The Rumble Ponies kick off the 2018 season at home on Thursday, April 5 against the Portland Sea Dogs at 6:35 PM.

The storms had heavy, wet snow and high winds that caused severe damage to electrical infrastructure through the Northeast. Former Binghamton Mayor Juanita Crabb and former Binghamton Triplet Jerry Coleman will be inducted into Binghamton’s Baseball Shrine in a ceremony at NYSEG Stadium before the Binghamton Rumble Ponies game tonight at 7:05 PM. Crabb was instrumental in bringing professional baseball back to the Southern Tier in the 90’s, Coleman was a member of the 1946 Binghamton Triplets, he played for 9 seasons in the Major Leagues with the New York Yankees, appearing in 6 World Series, he was MVP in the 1950 Fall Classic. Coleman also spent more than 4 decades calling games for the San Diego Padres. Binghamton’s Baseball Shrine has 65 members currently.

The multi-day event will feature the top prospects in the Eastern League Additional information about the events comprising Binghamton's 2020 Eastern League All-Star Game will be made available at a later date. $2.5 Million Dollars in renovations are underway at NYSEG stadium in Binghamton, for the inaugural season as the "Binghamton Rumble Ponies". Team Spokesman Ed Saunders explains:

The team announced a full schedule of Promotional events at Nyseg Stadium this season, details are available at BINGRP.COM.
For the 3rd time in the past 4 NFL seasons, football goal posts manufactured by Sportsfield Specialties in Delhi, will make an appearance framing the playing field at the Super Bowl. This year’s game will be hosted at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas on Sunday. Company officials reported that their goal posts were also used at MetLife Stadium in 2014 when the Seattle beat Denver & again in 2015 when the New England beat Seattle at University of Phoenix Stadium & also in 2008, when Sportsfield's goal posts were 1st used in a Super Bowl as the New York Giants upset the New England Patriots.
NYSEG is conducting a routine inspection of transmission lines by Drones this week. Inspections began last month in the Broome county area, they will begin in the Oneonta today through FEBRUARY 8th.

Fans voted on a new team name all season, the new name, logo and colors will be revealed in a ceremony on the field starting at Noon. Last Monday , a Town of North Norwich resident was arrested for Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs and Driving Across Hazard Markings following a Motor Vehicle Accident in the Town of Norwich. Deputies arrested 30 year old Robert Youngblood following a one car motor vehicle collision on State Highway 12 in the Town of Norwich, he was found to be operating a motor vehicle while being in an impaired state due to drugs. Youngblood was issued tickets to appear in the Town of Norwich Court at a later date. The collision caused a utility pole to be severed, State Highway 12 had to be closed for 8 ½ hours while NYSEG worked on the lines.

The Binghamton Mets announced NYSEG Stadium would go tobacco-free starting in the 2017 season. Inside the gates, fans will no longer be allowed to use cigarettes, cigars, smokeless tobacco, e-cigarettes nor vaporizers. Tobacco users will have a special smoking area at all games outside the gates of the stadium. The tobacco-free policy will go into effect on Opening Day in April 2017.

The Binghamton Senators & the Binghamton Mets announced that they will offer a “Downtown Doubleheader” ticket package for their game on Saturday, April 9th, that will include a ticket to both team’s games and a specialty dual logo t-shirt. The B-Mets will host the New Hampshire Fisher Cats on Saturday at 1:05 p.m. at NYSEG Stadium before the B-Sens host the Albany Devils at 7:05 p.m. in the Floyd L. Binghamton Mets New Owner John Hughes announced that the team would remain as a New York met Affiliate, but he is soliciting ideas from fans to rebrand the team & give it a new name synonymous with the Greater Binghamton Area. Hughes revealed the Double-A affiliate of the New York Mets would play at NYSEG Stadium under a new name starting in 2017. The team will launch a “Name the Team” contest on Opening Day, April 7. Submissions will be accepted through April 25th, when the top 6 possible team names will be unveiled. Fans can vote for their favorite name for two weeks via the team website. The new official name of the Double-A Mets will be revealed in October 2016.

Starting November 30th, the Binghamton Mets will be accepting toy donations at NYSEG Stadium for the "Toys for Tots" drive this Christmas season. All fans that donate a new toy will receive one free ticket to the Binghamton Mets game on Opening Day in April 2016.
