34-year-old Jason Pantone of Hyde Park in Dutchess County
has been picked up by Federal Authorities, in connection with envelopes
containing a suspicious white powder being delivered to several buildings in
New York and Connecticut, including 2 in Binghamton last week.   Pantone was charged with conveying false
information and hoax, he is accused of sending envelopes containing a powder
and a typed note that said "ANTHRAX." one of those was sent to the
Social Security Administration office at 2 Hawley Street in Binghamton, another
was sent to the United States District Court office at the Binghamton Federal
Building at 15 Henry Street.  Binghamton
fire department hazmat unit determined that the white powder in the envelopes
was not hazardous.


State Police report that 2 people were arrested after a golf
cart from Fire Fox Resort in the town of Nanticoke was located in the town of
Maine on July 3rd 2018.   An
investigation revealed that 23 year old Jordan Preston of the town of Union and
27 year old Amanda McGovern of Whitney Point took the golf cart joy riding
before abandoning it in the town of Maine.
Preston was located on September 24th and was arrested for Criminal
Possession of Stolen Property; McGovern was located February 21st and
was also charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property, she was issued an
appearance ticket returnable to the town of Maine Court on March 13th.


Animal Adventure in the town of Colesville announced that
the name of Tajiri’s girlfriend is Johari, which means jewel in Swahili.  Animal Adventure Park once again held a
public vote to name the giraffe; she is 14 years old and will be the mating
partner of Tajiri once he matures.
Tajiri is a little less than two years old, his birth was viewed by
millions through the park's YOUTUBE channel, his mother, April’s has another
calf due this month


Hospice & Palliative care of Chenango County will hold
their annual "Camp-4-Seasons" on Saturday March 23rd from 9am - 3pm,
at the Stanford Gibson Primary School in Norwich.   Grief Services Coordinator Rachel Barletta

Governor Cuomo admitted that he
is still trying to get Amazon to reconsider their recent decision to back out
of their plans to open a 2nd headquarters in Queens.  Cuomo said that he talked to CEO Jeff Bezos
& other top officials with the internet giant; he said that so far they
have not moved from their most recent decision to back out of the New York City
deal after local political pressure.

Governor Cuomo launched a Tax Fairness for the Middle Class
Campaign to make the property tax cap permanent and cut middle class taxes
again:

Cuomo said that he wants to reduce the rate for incomes up
to $150,000, the rate is now 6.85, and this would bring that down to 5.5%. And
up to $300,000, the rate is 6.85%; bring that down to 6%.


State Police arrested 32 year old George Odbert of Laurens,
for 3 counts of Menacing, Resisting Arrest and Obstructing Governmental
Administration.  Troopers were dispatched
to a report of a physical dispute at a residence in the town of Laurens.  Odbert is accused of physically restraining
the victim, who sprayed Odbert with pepper spray and left.  Odbert became disorderly with the troopers
and refused to comply, Odbert told his large dog to attack troopers, He was
pepper sprayed by a trooper and ultimately arrested.  Odbert was arraigned in the town of Hartwick
Court and remanded to the Otsego County Jail.


The next Delaware County Chamber of Commerce Breakfast will
be held this morning from 8:30 to 10:00 am at the Meredith Inn on Turnpike Road
in Delhi.  More information about this

A fundraising “Sock Hop” will be held Saturday at the Sidney
Elks Lodge to raise money for the Delaware Valley Humane Society, Spokespe4rson
