Chenango Sheriff Office arrested 47 year old Andrew Harris of Plymouth for Obstructing Fire Fighting Operations, Reckless Endangerment of Property, Unlawful Imprisonment. Harris was arrested after deputies determined he would not let fire department personnel extinguish a house fire in the Town of Plymouth. Harris was found standing in his driveway in close proximity to a fully involved house fire, he aggressive yelled at emergency personnel and failed to obey lawful orders, Deputies also determined that Harris committed crimes the night before against his girlfriend during a domestic incident, he was arraigned & released on his own recognizance.
Chenango Sheriff office arrested 38 year old Nicholas Partis of Cortland for Grand Larceny, after a complaint was filed by a local business. Deputies were dispatched to a local business, they obtained a license plate number and vehicle description. While deputies were reviewing camera footage, the Village of Oxford Police Department located the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop. Deputies responded to Oxford and positively identified Partis, he was arrested & was released on an appearance ticket and is due to appear in the Town of Norwich Court at a later date.

49 year old Keith Audette of Hamden pleaded guilty to Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs, in Delaware County Court Tuesday, Audette admitted that he had been previously convicted of Operating a Motor Vehicle While Intoxicated in Chenango County in 2015, he also admitted that he drove a motor vehicle in the Village of Walton on April 9th while under the influence of methamphetamine. Audette is expected to be sentenced to 5 years of felony probation supervision, and his license will be revoked, he will also be required to pay any fines and surcharges imposed by the Court.

Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 31 year old Eduardo Torres Jr. of Walton for Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a motor vehicle, following a traffic stop on State Highway 10 in the Town of Hamden. Deputies allege that Torres's vehicle was stopped on a dangerous turn on State Highway 10, impeding traffic, and that he had his license suspended. Torres is scheduled to reappear in the Town of Hamden Court at a later date.

Hunters will know immediately whether or not they are selected to receive their deer management permits. Oneonta city Police arrested Nicholas Cartelli of Oneonta following a traffic stop on Chestnut Street. Cartelli is accused of giving police a false name, officers determined his real identity & he is accused of using a stolen credit card, for driving with a suspended license & for a 2012 domestic incident. Cartelli was charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property, False Personation, Criminal Obstruction of Breathing and Endangering the welfare of a child.

Delaware County Sheriff's Office arrested 2 men Friday, in connection with a Town of Delhi burglary and a traffic stop in the Town of Kortright. 37-year-old Patrick Burnside of Bloomville and 43 year old George Robinson of Delhi, were charged with 2nd degree Burglary, 3rd degree Grand Larceny plus Conspiracy & Criminally Possessing a Hypodermic Instrument. Robinson was also charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle as Deputies observed him operating a motor vehicle in Kortright with a suspended license. Both men are accused of entering a Town of Delhi residence on July 17th and stealing a safe containing cash and jewelry valued at $6,000, they were arraigned and were remanded to the Delaware County Jail on Bail pending further court action. The Investigation is continuing.
Governor Cuomo announced new free sport fishing days on Veterans Day, the weekend preceding Presidents Day, and National Hunting and Fishing Day, the fourth Saturday in September. During these designated free fishing days, New York residents and non-residents are permitted to fish for free without a fishing license. Governor Cuomo issued a warning to college students returning for the fall semester that purchasing fake IDs is not only illegal, but also increases the chances of becoming a victim of identify fraud. Investigators from the State DMV have found dozens of examples of underage license holders becoming victims of identity theft after purchasing fraudulent identification online from overseas companies. According to the Federal Trade Commission, 18% of identity theft victims were ages 20 to 29; about 6% were 19 years old or younger, these age groups are less likely to regularly track bank account and credit card activity, pay for identity theft monitoring services, and use discretion when sharing information on social media. Nearly 16,000 identity theft complaints were logged last year in New York State.

Governor Cuomo today unveiled the newest license plates in the I LOVE NY Adventure Custom Plates series, which will make available for motorcycles nine designs that include hunting, fishing, and parks insignia. The motorcycle class plates are available to anyone holding a valid Department of Environmental Conservation sporting License or Parks Empire Passport, & can be ordered by mail, MV 414 form, which is available online. State Police at Oneonta arrested 43-year-old Ramnarine Baldeo of Schenectady for False Personation and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation.  The arrest resulted from a stop for not wearing his seatbelt on I-88 in Oneonta; Baldeo is accused of giving the Trooper a false name and date of birth, to keep his suspended driver’s license from being found out.   Baldeo was arraigned and was remanded to the Otsego County Jail in lieu of $1,500 cash bail.

Licenses for the upcoming hunting, fishing and trapping seasons are now on sale at sporting outlets across New York.  Licenses can be purchased at one of the DEC license sales outlets statewide as well as through the DEC website, dec.ny.gov.  The 2013-2014 sporting licenses are valid beginning October 1st. The DEC will issue about 18% more deer management permits which will allow for the hunting of antlerless deer.
