The Delaware County Chamber of Commerce is continuing with their "Leaderful Delaware" classes starting in October through May of next year, where participants learn what is takes to develop leadership qualities in their work & in their communities, according to chamber president Ray Pucci:

The 2024-2025 program will start on October 10 with an in-person session in Delhi. We will continue to meet on the second Thursday of each month through May 2025. A graduation recognition will be celebrated at the Chamber’s Business and Breakfast event in June 2025. State Officials announced this week that Shooting Incidents Decreased By 29% In New York State, after the state received reports from law enforcement agencies, that were taking part in New York State’s Gun Involved Violence Elimination or "GIVE" initiative. Hochul's office also announced a 21 percent decline in the number of individuals killed by gun violence in the same period, the initiative supports 28 police departments in 21 counties, Nassau, Suffolk & Yonkers had the steepest declines of almost 60%.

State Police arrested Chenango County Sheriff Candidate Debra Cubbedge of Norwich on Tuesday, along with 21 year old Kymani Frazer of Yonkers, they were both arrested for 2nd degree criminal trespass, after Troopers were dispatched to a dispute at a residence on County Road 44 in the town of Plymouth. State Police said that Frazer and Cubbedge entered the residence without permission and remained inside unlawfully; they left prior to the trooper’s arrival and were located in the City of Norwich. Cubbedge & Frazer were released, and will return to Plymouth Town Court on October 27.

players for the annual Gus Macker 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament this weekend,
organizer Tom Revoir said that they still need volunteers for a variety of
necessary functions:

State Police arrested 28 year old Rosa Bautist-Pena of
Yonkers for Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs, after she arrived at the
State Police barracks in Oneonta to speak to a trooper on an unrelated
matter.  She was arraigned in the town of
Oneonta court where she was remanded to the Otsego County Jail on $50 cash bail
or $250 property bond.  She will appear
in the town on Oneonta court on July 11th.

State lawmakers will begin the 2019 session today in
Albany.  Both Houses of the legislature
and the Governor's position will be in Democratic Party control for the first
time since 2010.  History was also made
today, as Senator Andrea Stewart Cousins of Yonkers, became the First Woman
Senate Majority Leader in State History.

Yonkers Republican John Cahill announced his intentions to run for the state Attorney General position this year, against incumbent Democrat Eric Schneiderman. Cahill formerly served as a top aide to former Governor George Pataki, who joined Cahill at his press conference yesterday.

Attorney General Eric Schneiderman announced that his office would sponsor a gun buy-back in Utica on Saturday, as part of a new statewide program. The Attorney General's Office will be accepting working and non-working, unloaded weapons in exchange for compensation on site. This Saturday's gun buyback will take place at the Utica Memorial Auditorium, from 9:30 AM to 1:00 PM.  Other gun buybacks will take place in Binghamton,  Poughkeepsie, Yonkers, and the Buffalo region in the coming weeks.

Delaware County Sheriff Deputy’s arrested 25 year old Patrick Power of Yonkers for 2nd degree Harassment following a physical domestic incident along the side of State Highway 30 in the Town of Colchester. Power was arraigned in the Town of Andes Court and released on his on recognizance, he will appear in the Town of Colchester Court on July 16th.

The Delaware County Sheriffs Office responded to a one car motor vehicle accident Sunday on County Highway 22 / East Brook Road in the Town of Hamden. 52-year-old Anthony Triarsi of Yonkers left the roadway and struck a utility pole.  Triarsi was not injured; he was issued a traffic summons for the unsafe tires.
