Otsego County Sheriff's Office arrested 23 year old Kristian Deloatch of Oneonta following a traffic stop Sunday in the Town of Oneonta. Deloatch was charged with Reckless Driving & Speed Over 55 mph, he is accused of driving at approximately 40 mph over the posted speed limit, he was issued an Appearance Ticket and scheduled to appear in the Town of Oneonta Court at a later date.

On Monday at the DEP Offices on Smith Street in Kingston, community leaders gathered to announce a new initiative to improve wireless connectivity across the watershed. New York City DEP Commissioner Aggarwala discussed the project’s aim to build wireless infrastructure that will not only enhance DEP operations but also address the gaps in connectivity affecting local communities. The project will help fill in "dead zones" along critical roadways and ensure better communications for first responders, in areas where cell service is unreliable. The DEP's ability to create this infrastructure on their land will allow private wireless carriers to also utilize it to provide much-needed service boost to residents and businesses.

Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies received a complaint last week regarding a stolen vehicle from a driveway in the Town of Tompkins. Deputies were contacted by State Police, as they had located the vehicle parked at a residence in the Town of Bainbridge. 37 year old Aaron Howard of Walton was charged with Grand Larceny, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property and Unauthorized use of a Motor Vehicle. 36 year old Courtney Condon of Walton was charged with Grand Larceny and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property.

Otsego County Sheriff's Office arrested 68 year old Frederick Pangburn of Schoharie for 2 counts of Grand Larceny, following an investigation in to a report of possible extortion. Pangburn allegedly threatened to post intimate photographs of a victim online if he was not given the victim’s vehicle and additional cash, he was located in Worcester and taken in to custody & was being held at the Otsego County Correctional Facility to await Centralized Arraignment. A request for an order of protection was made on behalf of the victim.

Otsego County Department of Health reported that a bobcat in the town of Unadilla tested positive for Rabies Saturday. Officials said that 1 dog was exposed but was vaccinated, it received a booster shot & was treated for wounds suffered from the bobcat. 4 people are also undergoing post rabies exposure treatment, DEC officials were looking a for 2nd possibly rabid bobcat in Unadilla. The American Red Cross has 2 more blood drives today, as blood supplies remain critically low. 1 drive will be held in Walton from 12:00 Noon until 5:00 PM at the Watershed Agricultural Council, at 44 West Street, another will be held in Cooperstown from 12:30 to 5:30 PM at the Clark's Sports Center, 124 County Highway 52. Governor Hochul announced that approximately $110 million was awarded to 86 projects through 2 grant programs to improve water quality across the state. Locally, Town of Chenango will get $10 Million for a new treatment technology at its Northgate facility to help meet State standards and improve water quality by reducing the amount of phosphorus entering the Chenango River and the Chesapeake Bay watershed.

State Attorney General Letitia James released a list today of the top complaints her office has received in 2022. Over 5200 complaints were received regarding price gouging defective merchandise & poor customer service at retail establishments, over 3,000 were landlord or tenants complaints. over 2800 were about credit, banking & mortgage issues, over 2700 complaints were about consumer services organizations like COVID testing facilities, dry cleaners, restaurants or movers, and over 2500 for automobile sales & service.

The Broome County District Attorney's office announced that 53 year old Robert Randolph of Endicott was sentenced after pleading guilty to felony Criminal Possession of a Controlled substance. Randolph was caught with large quantities of methamphetamine, heroin, and fentanyl when police raided his motel room in Endicott in August of 2021, he was on parole from a previous conviction for selling methamphetamine. Randolph was sentenced to 5 years in state prison followed by 2 years of post-release supervision.

There is still a lot of work to be done before The High
Bridge Wind Farm Turbines are built in the town of Guilford, after last week’s
open forum where town citizens asked question about the project directly to
Calpine representatives, who are seeking to put up to 30 turbines there,

American Red Cross Blood drives are scheduled today in
Walton & Oneonta. In Walton, a blood drive is being held from 12:00 Noon
until 5:00 PM, at the Watershed Agricultural Council, 44 West Street; In
Oneonta, a blood drive is scheduled from 2:00 to 6:00 PM at the Quality Inn on
State Highway 23.  Donors of all blood types,
especially type O, are urged to make an appointment to donate using the Blood
Donor App, at RedCrossBlood.org or by calling 1-800-RED CROSS.

Supplies are needed & pets are ready for adoption, at
the Delaware Valley Humane Society in Sidney, Director Erin Insinga and a few
children from Dewitt Drive in Sidney stopped up to visit WCDO this morning,
they raised $100 selling lemonade & donated it to the Shelter.  Erin Insinga told WCDO news where the shelter

6 players were inducted into the National Baseball Hall of
Fame Sunday at the Clark Sports Center in Cooperstown:

The inductions started with the induction of 2 starting
Pitchers, 1st up was Mike Mussina who played 18 years for the Baltimore Orioles
& The New York Yankees, who won 270 games without putting up some of the
gaudy statistics that other Hall of Famers did:

The 2nd starting pitcher inducted Sunday was the late Roy
Halladay, who died in a small plane crash in November 2017; on the baseball
field among his achievements, he authored only the 2nd no hitter in post season
baseball, his wife Brandy struggled through the speech, but believed her
husband would have said the following in his speech:

This year, 2 Designated Hitters were inducted into the
Baseball Hall of Fame, 1st up was Harold Baines, who was known for his quiet
leadership over his lengthy career, he simply followed the advice of his late

Edgar Martinez played his entire career with the Seattle
Mariners, he was so prolific as a DH, that the Annual Award is named after him;
he said that it was a long wait to get in the Hall Of Fame, but it was worth

The last 2 to give their speeches for induction into the
Baseball Hall Of Fame were two of the greatest “Closers” in baseball
History.

Lee Smith pitched for a number of teams in his career &
when he retired, he had more saves than any one on baseball history, and he

Sunday was delivered by New York Yankee Great Mariano Rivera, who joked about
always being “Last”  & thanked
friends, Family, Teammates & even the President of his home country of

Officials estimated that about 55,000 fans attended Sunday’s
Hall of fame Inductions in Cooperstown.

Supporters came from all over to show their support for the residents of Islamberg in the town of Tompkins, as a group of Bikers known as the "American Bikers United Against Jihad" planned a rally, against the Muslim group who have been targeted in certain media as being a terrorist training ground. Julia Reischel of the Watershed Post was at yesterday's rally; she told WCDO News that the rally was a lot smaller than expected:

Reischel said that state Troopers & Delaware County Sheriff’s deputies were on hand to insure the safety of the community & the supporters. Islamberg had also been targeted by Robert Doggart of Tennessee, who vowed to get a militia together to burn down the community and kill the residents; he was arrested earlier this year by the FBI for making terrorist threats.

Governor Cuomo announced that he is advancing legislation to end the HIV/AIDS epidemic in New York State. The legislation would Increase the number of individuals who will be linked to and remain in care by allowing HIV-related information to be shared with care managers. It would Streamline HIV testing efforts and extends the upper age limit of the beyond the current age of 64. It would Make clear that minors have the right to obtain life-saving HIV treatment and preventive services without parental consent & it would Expand the opportunities for STD screening and access to post exposure prophylaxis to prevent infection.
