State Police responded Friday afternoon to a one-vehicle rollover crash on Interstate 81 in the town of Lisle. An investigation determined that an SUV operated by 59 year old Paul Veeder of Virginia was north on Interstate 81, he lost control of the vehicle, causing it to leave roadway and overturn. A 19-year-old female from Virginia, was not wearing a seat belt was ejected and became pinned beneath the SUV. She was transported to Wilson Medical Center, where she is being treated for non-life threatening injuries, Veeder and 3 other occupants were also transported to Wilson Medical Center for evaluation and treatment. Veeder was issued traffic citations. The northbound passing lane of Interstate 81 north was closed during the investigation.

Binghamton Police arrested 46-year-old Shantay O’Donnell of Virginia, O'Donnell was charged with multiple counts of criminal possession of a weapon & was wanted in Virginia & Maryland on felony charges and she was being held in the Broome County Jail pending extradition.

State Police responded to multiple accidents due to the weather again this morning, this morning at about 3:15 am., Troopers were dispatched to I-81 in the town of Cortlandville, the investigation revealed that a Greyhound bus was traveling northbound on I-81, it was rear-ended by a vehicle operated by Cheikh Mohamed Lem Abedouty of Virginia, the bus slowed following the initial collision, it was subsequently rear-ended by a car operated by Tyreck Hunte of Endicott, who did not initially stop but later reported the crash to Troopers. Abedouty was transported to Guthrie Cortland Medical Center, where he was treated and released. Hunte was not injured, The operator of the bus, Kimberly Poole of Philadelphia, did not report any injuries. None of the 43 passengers on board reported injuries. The investigation is ongoing.

The Otsego County Sheriff’s Office arrested 30 year old Victor Quisquina of Virginia following the investigation of a property damage motor vehicle accident in the Town of Otego. Quisquina was charged with DWI and several related charges, and he did not possess a valid driver’s license, he was processed and released with Uniform Traffic Tickets/Appearance Ticket and is set to appear in court at a later date.

The US census Bureau has released statistics showing that New York State lost nearly 121,000 residents to other states in 2024, yet the state's Population increased by 129,000 people. The census bureau reported that almost 14% came from New Jersey, 11.5% came from California, 9.3% came from neighboring Pennsylvania, 7% left Florida fro New York, followed by Massachusetts, Connecticut, Texas & Virginia.

A pilot and a rescue dog he was transporting to an animal shelter were killed when a small plane crashed near Windham Sunday. 49 year old Seuk Kim of Springfield Virginia was flying from Maryland to Albany, when his plane crashed, 2 other dogs on the plane survived. Kim died on impact, the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board were investigating the crash.

State Police arrested 52 year old William Harris of Richmond Virginia, Harris was operating a tractor trailer with an oversized load while impaired by alcohol and in possession of an illegal weapon, he was charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon & Driving While Intoxicated in a Commercial Vehicle. Harris was apprehneded after he failed to stop for a mandatory tractor trailer inspection stop on I-81 Harris failed Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, Police located an assault weapon in his possession, Harris was later transported to the Cortland County Correctional Facility for Centralized Arraignment.

State Police announced that a woman wanted in connection with a triple homicide was taken into custody Thursday following a vehicle pursuit in I-86. A State Trooper initiated a traffic stop, the suspect failed to comply, so pursuit was initiated into Steuben County where Sheriff's Deputies assisted. A tire deflation device was used & 23 year old Alyssa Venable of Spotsylvania, Virginia, was taken into custody. Venable was wanted on 3 counts of 2nd-degree murder and criminal use of a firearm, Venable will be returned to Virginia shortly.

The Food & Drug Administration announced that some types of ground cinnamon products sold at discount stores are being recalled because of elevated levels of lead. The Cinnamon in questions locally was available at stores like Dollar Tree and Family Dollar, under the Supreme Tradition name, sold by Greenbriar International, of Chesapeake, Virginia, the cinnamon can be returned to the stores for a refund, or should be disposed of, the cinnamon with lead has been pulled from the shelves at the stores in question.

Davis was charged in connection with the April 5th abduction of Tatiana David Ithaca, which ended in a shootout with Police in Virginia, and with David deceased outside the Davis vehicle. Davis was shot by police after he opened fire on them as they responded when he crashed his vehicle following a 25 mile chase.

The Virginia State Police charged 34 year old Michael Davis for abduction, and is now in Police custody. Davis was charged in connection with the April 5th abduction of Tatiana David Ithaca, which ended in a shootout with Police in Virginia, and with David deceased outside the Davis vehicle. Davis was shot by police after he opened fire on them as they responded when he crashed his vehicle following a 25 mile chase.
Police in Virginia have not yet charged Michael Davis of Richmond Virginia, in connection with the April 5th abduction of Tatiana David in Ithaca. Police in Virginia stopped Michael Davis's vehicle shortly after he crossed into Virginia, he fled the scene before crashing his vehicle about 35 minutes later, he shot at troopers who returned fire, Davis is still in critical condition in a Virginia hospital. Tatiana David was found deceased outside Davis's vehicle, the results of the autopsy have not yet been released.

State Police released their update on the reported abduction of Tatiana David in Ithaca Wednesday. A witness reported that David was forced into a white SUV by the suspect, 34 year old Michael Davis of Richmond, Virginia against her will. An endangered adult alert was issued by State Police, They said that the victim and the suspect were in a previous relationship and have a 4-year-old child together. At 9:25 pm, Davis's vehicle was detected crossing into the State of Virginia, Virginia State Police stopped the vehicle, at which time Davis fled the scene, leading Virginia State Police on a pursuit which ended when the suspect vehicle crashed in a wooded area at 10:05 PM. Davis began firing at Virginia State Police, who returned fire, Davis was critically wounded and was taken to an area Hospital and is in critical condition, Tatiana David was located deceased outside the vehicle at the crash location with an apparent gunshot wound, her autopsy was scheduled last night, the results will be released shortly, the investigation is continuing.

The State DEC announced that the Berry Hill fire tower in the town of McDonough is now open to the public for recreation. About $125,000 was spent on upgrades to enhance safety and accessibility for the 59 foot tower which was originally erected in 1934 by the Civilian Conservation Corps for fire protection.

Binghamton Firefighters responded Sunday Morning to a fire at an apartment house at 59 Main Street. The fire was reported at about 11:40 Sunday Morning, 1 occupant was taken to an area hospital for smoke inhalation, the cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Otsego County Sheriff's Office arrested 19 year old Anthony Kandalepas of Chesapeake, Virginia & a 17 year old juvenile from Jacksonville, Florida for Criminal Possession of a Weapon & Criminal Possession of Stolen Property. Deputies responded to a report of a vehicle disabled in The Town of Milford, which was reported stolen out of Jacksonville. A search led to the discovery of a loaded unregistered handgun, drug paraphernalia and other stolen items. The juveniles were reported missing, the 17 year old was released into the custody of his parents, and the 14-year-old juvenile was released into the custody of Otsego County Child Protective Services. Kandalepas was arraigned and remanded to the Otsego County Correctional Facility on $10,000 cash or $20,000 bond. U.S. Department of Homeland Security is assisting with the investigation and additional charges may be pending.

State Comptroller Tom DiNapoli announced that New York State leads the nation in what it pays to the federal government compared to what it gets back from Washington. New York taxpayers paid $23.7 billion more in federal taxes than the state received in federal spending in federal fiscal year 2019, for every tax dollar paid to Washington; the state received $0.91, well below the national average of $1.24. New Mexico gets the most value at $2.83 per tax dollar paid, followed by Mississippi ($2.50), West Virginia ($2.43), Alabama ($2.17) and Kentucky ($2.05).

The state has a total of 458,649 positive cases since March, there were 9 deaths, bringing the state total to 25,470. The Governor also announced Tuesday that 1 state was added & 2 were removed from the state's traveler’s advisory list. Travelers from Colorado will now have to self-quarantine for 14 days after arriving in New York, Arizona and Virginia were removed today, the full list is available at coronavirus.health.ny.gov.

State Police responded to a fatal motorcycle crash on State Route 79 in the town of Windsor. 50 year old Brian Bidwell of Virginia was traveling southbound on State Route 79 when he left the roadway for an unknown reason and stuck a ditch. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Endangering the Welfare of a Child.
Detectives arrested Browning Jr. following a complaint of an older man
looking for a room at a local Motel to bring a female victim under the age of
16. Detectives found that Browning had sexual contact with a child less than 16
years old and also possessed child pornography.
Browning is currently being held at the Chenango County Correctional
Facility on other charges and is awaiting his court date.

found to have an active warrant in the State of Virginia for Embezzlement; he

of Strasburg, Virginia Sunday, for 2 counts of the felony of Criminal
Possession of a Firearm. A trooper
responded to an accident involving a motorcycle on I-88 in the town of
Worcester, Davis told the trooper that when a tractor trailer passed him, he lost
control of his Harley, he was uninjured, it was discovered that Davis was in
possession of 2 guns illegally in the rear storage area of his motorcycle, Davis
did not possess a pistol permit. He was
arrested and arraigned in the town of Worcester court where he was remanded to
the Otsego County Jail on $2000 cash bail or $4000 bond. Davis will appear in court on July 2nd.
