Congressman Anthony Brindisi announced a more than $1 million grant for Opportunities for Chenango. The funds are administered through the Department of Health and Human Services, & will be used for the Head Start Program.

Nick Libous is once again running for the Republican Party nomination in the 122nd Assembly District, following the announcement that Cliff Crouch was retiring after 25 years in the Assembly.  Libous Told WCDO News what his priorities are:

Otsego County is in receipt of hand sanitizer from New York State to be distributed to businesses that prove they have completed the business affirmation required on the NY Forward website.  Any business may request and receive two gallons of hand sanitizer and one pump for their business.  Businesses can contact the Otsego County Office of Emergency Services at 547-4227.

Attorney General Letitia James announced that the state has renewed an order to halt the collection of medical and student debt owed to the State that has been referred to their Office, for an additional 30-day period, starting tomorrow through Thursday, July 16th. After this 30-day period, the Attorney General will reassess the needs of state residents for another possible extension.

The American Red Cross is holding a blood drive in Sidney today.  The drive will be held from 2:00 to 6:00 PM at the Sidney Elks Lodge, at 104 River Street, appointments can be made by downloading the free Blood Donor App, visiting RedCrossBlood.org, calling 1-800-RED CROSS or enabling the Blood Donor Skill on any Alexa Echo device.

Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 46-year-old Jeannie Bame of Hobart Tuesday on a bench warrant issued by the Delaware County Court for failure to appear for a scheduled compliance conference relating to a felony DWI conviction.  Bame was committed to the Delaware County Correctional Facility pending her appearance in Delaware County Court on Wednesday.  Bame was arraigned before County Court Judge Richard D. Northrup, Jr., on Wednesday morning, via remote teleconference, and was released on recognizance.
Republican Assembly Candidate Nick Libous released a statement today regarding the "Cease & Desist" order from retiring Assemblyman Cliff Crouch.  Libous's statement said that it is outrageous that Mr. Crouch cannot be discussed during this campaign, and he said that he will stick to his Job Creation message during the campaign.  Assemblyman Crouch has endorsed former Norwich Police Chief & Decorated Marine Veteran Joe Angelino for his 122nd Assembly district seat. 2 other Republicans are also running for the seat, Vic Furman & Jim Powers, the Republican Primary is June 23rd.  1 Democratic Candidate is running for the 122nd District Assembly seat: Richard Shaw.
