State Police, United States Postal Inspection Service, Binghamton University Police, Binghamton Police, and the Broome County SIU Task Force arrested 21 year old Bryan Shin of Binghamton, for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, after Shin was found to be in possession of approximately 1000 pills and powder containing methamphetamine and fentanyl, a digital scale and packaging material. The street value of the recovered drugs was estimated to be approximately $10,000. Shin was arraigned in the City of Binghamton Court and remanded to the Broome County Jail without bail.
State Police will be gathering today at the Middletown Town Hall in Margaretville to honor Trooper David C. Brinkerhoff on the 10-year anniversary of his line-of-duty death. Directly following the service the gathering will proceed to State Route 30 to place wreaths at the NYS DOT signs honoring him. All are welcomed to attend.

State Police and the United States Postal Inspection Service announced the arrest of 22 people and the seizure of drugs, weapons, cash and one vehicle resulting from a joint drug investigation throughout Central New York. “Operation Pandora’s Box,” targeted drug suppliers from New York and around the nation -- and even overseas -- who are using the U.S. Mail to ship narcotics and synthetic drugs, along with other contraband, into the region. Among those arrested locally, 23-year-old Erica Cirzeveto of Binghamton, 24-year-old Nefateia Brink of Binghamton, both on a variety of drug charges, and 37-year-old Terry Davis of Oneonta, for Criminal Possession of Marihuana.

State Police in Oneonta want to advise the public and local businesses that multiple stores in the Oneonta area have recently received several $10 and $20 Norfed “Liberty Dollar” medallions. These medallions are privately produced products that are neither backed by, nor affiliated with the United States Government. They are not genuine United States Mint coins and are not legal tender despite their appearance. These silver medallions are only worth the value of the silver that they are made of; any store clerk who is handed one of these during a sale should not accept it.
