Governor Kathy Hochul today announced that her administration has reached contract agreements with the New York State Public Employees Federation and with the United University Professions. The agreement with PEF is for a three-year term running until April 1, 2026 for more than 51,000 New York State employees in a in a wide variety of professional, scientific and technical titles. The agreement with UUP is for a four-year term running until July 1, 2026 for more than 37,000 SUNY system faculty and professional employees. Both agreements are subject to ratification by union membership.

Governor Cuomo today announced the ratification of a 6-year labor agreement between the state and United University Professions, the nation's largest higher education union, representing more than 35,000 SUNY employees. The agreement won the approval of nearly 98 percent of union members, the agreement includes a 2% wage increases each year through 2021-2022 fiscal year, it's the first labor union agreement with the state that includes Paid Family Leave benefits since the policy took effect on January 1st.

Governor Cuomo and United University Professions announced a tentative contract agreement between the state and the union representing more than 35,000 SUNY employees. UUP members had been without a contract since 2011. The agreement is tentative pending ratification by UUP membership later this spring.  According to the State Budget Office, the agreement will save approximately $87 million in wages through a Deficit Reduction Program over the contract period.
