Bainbridge Initiative is a group that started last summer, to try to deal with various issues facing Bainbridge & elsewhere, like substance abuse, homelessness & helping area youth making healthier choices. The group has invited Truth Pharm to Bainbridge this Saturday for Narcan training, according the Bainbridge Initiative spokesperson Carole Kanzer:

Kanzer said that the training is for all over the age of 16, at the Bainbridge Town Hall from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, it is free & open to the public.

Truth Pharm will be holding a free Narcan training at the Afton Free Library, at 105 Main Street in Afton, at 10:00 AM today The training is open to the Chenango County and surrounding communities, and will teach participants the science of substance abuse and addiction, as well as how to recognize an overdose, and how to respond to an overdose using Narcan.

State Police CNET arrested 24 year old Thomas Cole of Whitney Point for 14 counts each of Identity Theft & Falsifying Business Records, as well as 10 counts of Forgery, 4 counts of Scheme to Defraud and 14 counts of Criminal Impersonation. The arrest followed an investigation into the purchase of pseudoephedrine between last September & November, where Cole allegedly used driver’s licenses belonging to 2 separate individuals for the purposes of illegally purchasing pseudoephedrine at Broome County Pharmacies, in order to illegally manufacture methamphetamine. Cole was arraigned & was returned to the Broome County Jail.
The Tri-Town Coalition On Substance Abuse Prevention will hold their next Meeting tonight at the Sidney High School Library, from 6:00 to 7:30 PM. Agenda items include the Truth Pharm programs, reviewing the "Chasing The Dragon" Documentary & set up plans for 2018.

The Oxford Police Department has teamed up with "Truth Pharm" to try a different approach to the growing heroin problem; they will be holding a free Narcan training session for anyone interested at the Oxford High School at today 5:30 PM. Oxford Police Chief Richard Nolan comments:

Chief Nolan said that they will also be holding another session in more detail for first responders in February, they are also receiving grant money to set aside an area for people struggling with addiction to come & talk with Police & Volunteers on how to get treatment to beat the heroin addiction.
