The Chenango county sheriffs department arrested 25-year-old Tanya Osman of Coventry on a Bench Warrant and Resisting Arrest.   Osman is wanted on the warrant from Chenango County Court for failing to comply with the conditions of her probation following a conviction for Aggravated DWI.  Osman is accused of refusing to open her door to the deputy and then attempted to hide once the deputy entered the residence.  Osman was arraigned in the Town of Coventry Court  & was remanded to the Chenango County Jail on $500.00 bail, pending future court action.

A state judge threw out a lawsuit challenging the wording of New York's casino ballot proposition, ruling the challenge was filed too late and didn't have legal merit. The ruling from state Acting Supreme Court Justice Richard Platkin clears the way for the referendum to stand as is, with New York voters going to the polls to approve up to seven private casinos on November 5th.
