Governor Kathy Hochul unveiled the State Executive Budget proposal today in Albany, totaling 252 Billion Dollars, an increase of 3.6% over last year's budget. Hochul discussed 3 plans to assist working class families in the Budget proposal:

The increase in the budget follows an 8% state revenue increase over the last year, the Governor also discussed the continuance of plans to build more housing & changing the formula for state aid to school district and to stay on top of the state's crumbling roads & infrastructure due to the tough winter weather.

Delaware County Sheriff’s Office arrested 59 year old Karen Bryant of Greene & 71 year old Nancy Nowalk of Greene in connection with the misconduct investigation by the Greene Central School District. The woman were arrested Saturday after Greene Schoo Officlas reported that a 9-year-old female student had been “physically attacked” on a school bus by a school employee while in the Town of Masonville on Wednesday, January 8th. Video evidence revealed that Bryant struck the student “multiple times”, while Nowalk, failed to report it to the district. Bryant and Nowalk have been charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child. Bryant was also charged with Harassment, they were released on appearance tickets for the Town of Masonville Court at a later date.

Chenango County Sheriff’s Office arrested 23 year old Brandon King of Norwich for Burglary, Rape, 2 counts of Menacing and Criminal Obstruction of Breathing. Deputies responded to a Trespass in progress complaint, they located the female victim inside the residence, they determined that King unlawfully entered the victim’s residence, pointed a firearm at her, then displayed a knife and held it to the victim’s throat before forcing the victim to engage in sexual intercourse, a phone call was received from family members and the victim explained the situation, they contacted Police and King fled the scene on foot, he was later located in Utica and taken into custody. King was processed & was remanded without bail to the Chenango County Correctional Facility and is to appear in the Town of Norwich Court at a later date.

Chenango County Sheriff's Office arrested 42 year old Natasha Meeks of the Town of Otselic for Criminal Possession of Stolen Property, Tampering with Physical Evidence, and Criminal Mischief. Last April the Sheriff’s Office received a complaint from a victim that items were stolen from a property in the Town of Plymouth, at the end of the investigation, the case was presented to a Chenango County grand jury, and Following the indictment, an arrest warrant was issued. Meeks turned herself into the Detectives at the Chenango County Sheriff’s Office earlier this month, she was processed, arraigned in the Chenango County Court, and was Released in her own recognizance, she is scheduled to appear in the Chenango County Court at a later date.

With the Cold Weather Advisory in effect, People who must go outside are advised to dress with many layers of clothing, wear a mask or scarf to keep from inhaling the cold air, wear a hat or hood, as 40% of body heat can escape through an uncovered head.

The American Red Cross announced that if local residents donate Blood this month, they can enter for a chance to win 2 tickets to the Super Bowl in New Orleans. There are 2 Blood Drives in Oneonta today, one from 12:00 Noon until 5:00 PM at the Oneonta Elks Lodge on Chestnut Street and another from 1:00 to 6:00 PM at the St. James Episcopal Church at 205 Main Street. Delaware County Sheriff Deputies responded to a domestic dispute at a residence in the Village of Walton on March 26th, 25-year-old Jonathan Stein had left prior to patrols arrival, he is accused of damaging property of the female victim. On March 30th, 2022 Deputies were contacted by Walton Police that they had Stein under arrest on unrelated charges. Deputies took custody of Stein, he was charged with 6 counts of Criminal Mischief, he was processed and released on appearance tickets and is to appear in the Village of Walton Court at a later date.

The American Red Cross is holding a Blood Drive today in Oneonta. The Blood drive will be from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the St. James Episcopal Church at 305 Main Street. CDO Workforce in Norwich is offering free in person training to support job seekers efforts in getting employment. the 4 day "Job Jump Start" training series will begin Monday April 11th through Thursday April 14th at the Norwich CDO Workforce facility at 1 O'Hara Drive, to register for the training, call 334-2201.

Sidney Police investigated the theft of tools and construction equipment from a local business last month. Surveillance cameras helped police in identifying the person responsible, & an arrest warrant was issued for 37 year old Peter Puglisi of Afton. On Monday, Sidney Police located Puglisi, he was taken into custody and charged with Petty Larceny, he was arraigned in Village of Sidney Court & he was released to appear back in court at a later date.

The Otsego County Department of Health will be offering an Additional Booster Dose Vaccination Clinic at the Otsego Meadows Complex on April 18th. A Registration link can be found on the Otsego County Department of Health webpage. Those eligible include anyone age 12 and older who are moderately or severely immunocompromised, they may choose to receive a second booster dose at least 4 months after the first booster dose, also all adults 50 and older regardless of health status may choose to receive a 2nd booster dose, also 4 months after the first booster dose. Several Area Fire Departments responded to a house fire on County Route 35 in the Hamlet of Sidney Center this afternoon. The house was completely destroyed, WCDO will have more information as it becomes available.

Delaware County Sheriff's Deputies, were dispatched Sunday to a Domestic dispute in the Town of Delhi. 28-year-old Michael Stein of Delhi allegedly engaged another person in a physical domestic dispute, and unlawfully imprisoned the victim in his residence. Deputies charged Stein with Unlawful Imprisonment, Menacing, and Reckless Endangerment, he was released on appearance tickets for Town of Delhi Court on a later date.

NYSEG reports that thousands were still without power this afternoon, following last night's Thunderstorm & High Winds, Which knocked down trees & Power lines. NYSEG Crews were working to restore the power as quickly as possible, almost 10,000 were without power in the Tri-County Region this morning, the number was down to around 6600 by mid-afternoon.

Delaware County Public Health Services and Friends of Recovery- Delaware Otsego will be sponsoring a Recovery Coach Academy & Ethical Considerations training, April 11th through April 16th from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM in Delhi. State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation arrested 24 year old Austin Kuczek of Newfield for 2 counts of Disseminating Indecent Material to Minors, for allegedly sending inappropriate images to juveniles. Kuczek was formerly a member on the Newfield Town School Board and a teacher’s aide in the Ithaca City School District. He is currently the Recreation Director in the Town of Newfield, he was released on appearance tickets to the Newfield Town Court at a later date.

The Otsego County Sheriff's Office arrested 33 year old Felix Hartman of Unadilla for Burglary, 3rd degree assault, Attempted Rape, forcible touching Stalking & Criminal Impersonation for an incident in the Town of Unadilla Friday evening. Hartman claimed to be with a fire department, he allegedly sexually assaulted the victim, who sustained an arm injury & was treated & released at A.O. Fox Hospital in Oneonta. Several hours later, State Police received an additional sexual assault complaint in the Town of Otego. Hartmann was located by Troopers at his residence, he was arraigned & was remanded to the Otsego County Correctional Facility on $15,000 cash bail or $30,000 bond. An order of protection was issued, more charges are expected.

The DRI program in Norwich will hold the 2nd Local Planning Committee meeting virtually today at 3:00 PM as they plan what to do with the $10 Million Dollar Award from the state. Commerce Chenango President & CEO Kerri Green explains:

Former Oneonta Mayor David Brenner passed away Friday at the age of 90. Brenner served on the Otsego County Board of Representatives for many years, in 1985 he was elected Mayor of the City of Oneonta, a position he held for 12 years. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 PM Friday, at the Lewis, Hurley & Pietrobono Funeral Home, 51 Dietz Street in Oneonta. Binghamton Police & Broome County District Attorney Mike Korchak are investigating claims of sexual harassment regarding an owner of the Colonial Restaurant on Court street. The Colonial, and 2 other Binghamton restaurants; Dos Rios Cantina & The Stone Fox Bar & Pizza closed down Friday after the accusations hit social media & The investigations began, Protesters marched outside the Colonial Saturday night. Fire Departments from Harpursville, Ouaquaga & Windsor responded Sunday afternoon to a trailer fire at 2636 State Route 79. Firefighters were able to keep the fire from spreading to a nearby house, no injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.

The New York State Common Retirement Fund will invest $2 billion in an index focused on reducing the risks of climate change and capitalizing on the opportunities arising from the transition to a low-carbon economy, according to State Comptroller Tom DiNapoli. The decision is part of the State Comptroller's Climate Action Plan to get to net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2040.

The Delaware County Board of Supervisors has decided to remove the Delaware County Chamber of Commerce as the tourism promotion agent for the County, even as visitor spending & sales tax revenue has increased in recent years, Delaware County Chamber of Commerce President Ray Pucci told WCDO News Friday that the Chamber Board fears that the decision will hurt the county economy:

Pucci also said that the chamber has been transparent with their finances, and recent audits showed no issues, Delaware County board of Supervisors Chairperson Tina Mole was unavailable for comment on the Chamber Decision on Friday.

The Town of Guilford is holding a special election today at the Town Hall on Marble Road from 12:00 Noon until 8:00 pm. Guilford Voters will decide on a proposition regarding the possible opting out of the state's new Cannabis bill that that allows for dispensaries & places of consumption for marijuana.

An American Red Cross Blood Drive is being held today in Gilbertsville, at the Christ Episcopal church & Sponsored by the American legion auxiliary Unit. The drive runs from 1:00 to 6:00 PM today, appointments are requested at 783-2232.

Zephyr Teachout has officially dropped out of the race to be New York’s attorney general, days after incumbent Letitia James decided to seek reelection. Teachout lost the 2018 Democratic primary for attorney general to James, She also ran for the Democratic nomination for governor of New York in 2014, losing to Andrew Cuomo, and lost a congressional race in 2016 but Republican John Faso in the general election.

Otsego County Sheriff's Office arrested 50 year old Aaron Chianta of Oneonta following the Execution of an Arrest warrant on November 30th. Chianta was charged with Resisting arrest, Obstruction of Governmental Administration, he was released on an appearance to appear in the Town of Oneonta Court at a later date.

Governor Cuomo announced that over 55,300 people were tested for COVID on Sunday, with only 290 positives, of .5% of all tested.  Hospitalization, ICU Patients & Patients on Ventilators continues to trend downward, there were 3 deaths attributed to the virus Sunday; one of those was in Chenango County.  Just fewer than 72% of New Yorkers have had at least 1 Vaccination, 65% have completed the series of shots.

Pessagno said that they had to plan for smaller attendance at the Concert & at other events throughout the week, as they were planning this event earlier in the year when the COVID 19 pandemic still had high infection rates; they hope to be back to normal attendance figures in 2022.

A New Jersey fugitive was arrested June 19th by Delaware County Sheriff's Deputies following an incident in the Town of Colchester.  Deputies responded to a report of a vehicle in the East Branch Delaware River near the Corbett bridge, the Investigation revealed that a New Jersey couple were attempting to drive their pickup across the river when it became partially submerged and disabled in deep water, also a passenger, 30 year-old Brian Olin, of New Jersey was wanted by authorities in Hunterdon County, New Jersey, on an outstanding warrant for failure to appear in court on a felony drug charge in September, 2019.  Olin was charged with being a fugitive from justice and was later arraigned and remanded to the Delaware County Correctional Facility without bail pending his extradition by New Jersey.

The National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum announced that Josh Rawitch has been named President; he will begin serving in that capacity on September 9th.  Jeff Idelson will continue in his current role as Interim President until September 9th.  Rawitch was the Arizona Diamondbacks Senior Vice President of Content and Communications for the past 6 years; he previously served for 15 years as part of the Los Angeles Dodgers’ front office.

Attorney General Letitia James announced an agreement with Johnson & Johnson that will deliver up to $230 million to New York state, it resolves claims made by James for the company's role in helping to fuel the opioid epidemic and would allocate payments over 9 years, it also requires J&J to pay $30 million more in payments in the first year if the Governor signs into law new legislation that creates an opioid settlement fund, and other criteria are met.

Otsego County Sheriff's deputies arrested 36 year old Thomas Palmatier of South New Berlin, for Fleeing an Officer in Motor Vehicle, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation, Unregistered Vehicle & several other similar charges, following a recent traffic stop in the Town of Pittsfield.   Palmatier allegedly drove off from the traffic stop while emergency lights were activated; he was issued appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Pittsfield Court at a later date.

Otsego County Sheriff Deputies arrested 48 year old Brett Brooks of New Berlin after providing Deputy’s with false information of his identity in the Town of Pittsfield on June 13th.  Brooks was a passenger in a vehicle that had been stopped; he had an active bench warrant issued out of Chenango County & gave a false name to law enforcement. Brooks was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Pittsfield Court & was turned over to the custody of Chenango County Sheriff Office for the warrant.

The State Board on Electric Generation Siting and the Environment will meet on Thursday at 10:30 AM in Albany, the meeting will be available for public viewing at dps.ny.gov, The Siting Board agenda includes the Application of High Bridge Wind, LLC for a Certificate of Environmental Compatibility and Public Need to Construct a Wind Powered Electric Generating Facility in the Town of Guilford.

SUNY Chancellor Jim Malatras announced that intercollegiate athletic competition within SUNY will resume March 20th.  The approval is based upon a detailed collaborative plan that was developed by more than 50 athletic administrators, coaches and sports information directors and meets guidance provided by SUNY, the NCAA, and state and local departments of health. 75 year old Martin Gugino of Buffalo has  filed a federal court lawsuit against the city of Buffalo and 2 Police officers, who pushed him to the ground, he suffered a fractured skull & spent a month in the hospital recuperating.  Gugino's incident was captured on video, in which the officers pushed him during a protest.   Charges against officers Aaron Torgalski and Robert McCabe, were dismissed by a Grand Jury,  Gugino has filed a lawsuit against the 2 officers,  the city of Buffalo, Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown, Police Commissioner Byron Lockwood, & others of violating his civil rights.

Former Aide to Governor Cuomo, Lindsay Boylan, gave more details regarding her accusation last December, about unwanted advances from Governor Cuomo, when she worked as Vice President of the Empire State Development & as a special adviser to the Governor from 2015 to 2018.  Boylan first made the accusations during a failed run for Manhattan Borough president last year; she refused to elaborate to reporters last year, but released details today on Medium.com.  Governor Cuomo said that there was no truth to the accusations in December.

CWA Union Members at Acco Brands in Sidney approved of their latest contract proposal Tuesday.  Union officials said that 187 approved of the contract while 49 opposed.

The State Department of Health informed Delaware County Public Health that the U.K. variant of COVID-19 has been identified in 1 case in Delaware County. There is currently no evidence that this strain is more dangerous. It just spreads more easily.   The County had 8 more positive tests out of 170 tested, there are 114 active cases, 24 hospitalized & 211 Quarantined, and there have been 41 deaths.

19th District Congressman Antonio Delgado will host a "town hall” meeting through Zoom at 6:15 PM.  Delgado will discuss the COVID-19 relief package, & will answer questions, constituents can participate at (855) 905-3295 to join the town hall, or view it on the Congressman's Facebook page.

State Attorney General Letitia James announced that a Grand Jury in Rochester declined to indict the Police Officers involved in the incident that led to the death of 41 year old Daniel Prude in Rochester last March.  Police officers could be seen in the video putting a hood over the head of Prude, who suffered from mental issues, they held Prude on the pavement until he stopped breathing.

Governor Cuomo today announced that the number of Coronavirus cases in New York State went up to 222,000 people; Hospitalizations remained at over 17,000, with an average of 2000 new cases discovered daily on average.  The Governor said that the key to restarting the economy and sending people back to work is a lot more testing, with federal financial support;

State Budget Director Robert Mujica said that 70% of the state taxpayers filed by the usual April 15th filing date, most of those were getting refunds, those who have to pay, will wait until the July 15th extension, causing a cash flow problem:

Governor Cuomo said that another 606 people died from the Coronavirus Thursday, bringing the total to 12,858, about 60% of the deaths are male, and 50% of the deaths are age 70 and up.

Governor Cuomo signed an Executive Order announcing that New Yorkers MUST wear masks or face coverings on public transportation systems and while taking private transportation or riding in for-hire vehicles. Additionally, all operators of public systems, private carriers and for-hire vehicles must wear a mask or face covering at all times while working. The Executive Order is also requiring everyone in New York to wear a mask or a face covering when out in public and in situations where social distancing cannot be maintained. The order will go into effect tonight at 8:00 PM.  Governor Cuomo is also signing an Executive Order directing all public and private labs to coordinate with the State Department of Health to ensure prioritizing diagnostic testing for public health and for restarting the economy.

Delaware County Sheriff's Deputies responded Thursday to a report of an unresponsive man in a parked vehicle at the Franklin Mirabito convenience store, the vehicle's operator regained consciousness and fled the scene at a high rate of speed.  Deputies stopped that vehicle on County Highway 21 in the Town of Walton after observing the driver pass another vehicle in a no passing zone.   Deputies identified the driver of the vehicle as 29 year-old Casey Killian of Walton, he was charged with passing in a no passing zone, unlicensed operator, aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle & driving while ability impaired by drugs, he was released & will appear in the Town of Walton Court at a later date.

Chenango County Health Department announced today that they have 73 confirmed cases of the Coronavirus.  9 people are hospitalized, 39 people have recovered & 189 are quarantined, after conducting 435 tests.

State Attorney General Letitia James and Governor Cuomo announced that the state has renewed a previous order from March 17th that halted the collection for another 30 days, of medical and student debt owed to the State and that was specifically referred to the Office of the Attorney General for collection, in response to growing financial impairments resulting from the spread of coronavirus.  The new order took effect this morning and will run for an additional 30-day period, at that time, the Office of the Attorney General will reassess the needs of state residents for another possible extension.

Delaware County received 1 new positive test result for the Coronavirus Thursday, there are 59 confirmed positive cases, with an additional 73 people under mandatory quarantine and 1 person under precautionary quarantine, 7 confirmed cases have been transferred out of the county to the patients home county. Of the 52 confirmed positive cases in Delaware County, 6 are in a hospital, 24 are recovering at home, 3 people are deceased and 18 have fully recovered.

this month as Part of the Binghamton Philharmonic’s yearlong celebration of

Special Olympics New York and
Glens Falls officials today announced the return of State Fall Games, which is
expected to draw nearly 1,300 athletes, coaches, and families from throughout
the state to Glens Falls this October to compete in seven fall sports: bocce,
cycling, golf, equestrian, soccer, softball, and cross-country running.  State Fall Games was eliminated from the
Special Olympics New York budget five years ago due to financial constraints,  The return of State Fall Games was announced
today at a press conference at City Hall. The Games will be held Friday, Oct.
23 and Saturday, Oct. 24 at sporting venues throughout the Glens Falls and
Queensbury area.

Volunteers for the Susquehanna Society for the Prevention of
Cruelty to Animals will host a Brooks' BBQ Chicken Dinner today at Christ

Governor Cuomo unveiled his State of the State Agenda &
the Executive Budget proposal to a joint session of the legislature this
afternoon:

The Legislature has until April 1st to pass the budget for
the start of the next fiscal year, the 2019 session officially ends on June
19th.

Governor Cuomo proposed a number of reforms Monday,
regarding limousines, busses, taxis & school busses, following the October
6th accident in Schoharie last year that took 20 lives.   The vehicle involved in the crash in Schoharie
was a re-manufactured SUV, Cuomo proposes banning remanufactured limousines,
the bill also would require drivers to hold a Commercial driver license to
operate a for-hire vehicle with 8 or more passengers;  Make it a felony to remove an out of service
sticker placed by a DOT inspector without having the vehicle re-inspected by
the DOT; Explicitly authorize DOT and DMV to seize suspended license plates
& make it a felony for any owner/operator to tamper with a Federal Motor
Vehicle Safety Standard tag or vehicle inspection sticker; among several other
proposed safety requirements.

The State Legislature passed several new voting rights bills
Monday in Albany.  The bills allow for
early voting, pre-registration for 16 & 17 year olds, Same-day registration,
No excuse absentee voting & combining state/federal primaries, the package
of bills now goes to the Governor for his signature.

29 year old Naythan Aubain of Utica has been declared unfit
to stand trial, on 2 counts of murder in Oneida County.  Aubain is accused of killing his 90 year old
Grandmother Katherine Aubain & her landlord, 87 year old Jane Wentka in
Utica on January 6th.  Aubain was
examined by 2 mental health experts, who declared that he say that he is not
fit to proceed in a court trial, in accordance with the State Criminal
Procedure Law.

The Binghamton Rumble Ponies and United Way of Broome County
are holding a "Soup"er Bowl Can Drive. Fans are encouraged to donate
non-perishable canned goods including soups from January 25th – January 31st at
The Armory Team Store at NYSEG Stadium, which will be donated to the Southern
Tier AIDS Program.  The Armory Team store

Bridge was demolished into the Hudson River this morning.  The portion was imploded; remaining parts of
the old bridge will be removed from the site for recycling.

State police are asking for the public's help in locating 39 year old James Sitts of Oneonta, who is wanted in connection with a grand larceny investigation. Sitts is described as a white male, 5 feet 10 inches tall, 165 pounds with brown hair, blue eyes and a beard, he has several distinctive tattoos on his neck and right arm, his last known address was in the Lantern Hill Trailer Park in Oneonta. Anyone with information is asked to call state police at (607) 561-7400.

Federal law Enforcement officials arrested 41 year old Justin Hobbie of Springfield, on child pornography charges. Hobbie was working as a physical education teacher & was formerly a girls’ soccer coach in the Cooperstown School District. District officials alerted parents of the arrest this morning, they did not believe that any incident involving a Cooperstown Student occurred, the investigation is continuing.

60 year old Lynn Beilby of South New Berlin has been charged with animal abuse, for allegedly torturing an animal and failing to provide sustenance to an animal. Beilby is scheduled to appear in the Town of Morris Court on January 14th to answer to the charges.

State Police arrested 37 year old Michael Collins of Butternuts, for Unlawful Imprisonment, Criminal Obstruction of Breathing and Criminal Mischief, after Troopers were dispatched to a residence on Wilbur Hill Road in the town of Butternuts for a domestic dispute. After an investigation, troopers determined that Collins and a victim were involved in an argument that turned physical, where Collins is accused of choking, taking a phone away when the victim attempted to call for help and not allowing the victim to leave. Collins was arraigned in the town of Butternuts Court where he was released on his own recognizance. The judge issued an order of protection to the victim.

The first lawsuit has been filed in connection with the October 6th Limo Crash in Schoharie. Thomas and Donna Rivenburg, the parents of Amanda Rivenburg, have filed a lawsuit Prestige Limousine & Chauffer Service & others, for the use of the limousine that failed an inspection and was in violation for having 18 seats, which exceeded the limit of 10 seats for that vehicle, and that the driver did not have a proper license to operate the vehicle. The Rivenburgs are seeking monetary damages for gross negligence, pain and suffering, and wrongful death, 20 people died in the crash& the investigation is continuing.

The Oneonta Department of Public Service announced that they are repairing a water main break on Chestnut Street until about 5:00 PM today, from Morgan to West End Avenue. Some local residents will be without water for a portion of the project. Parking on the street will not be permitted, and the street will be closed to traffic for the duration of work & a detour has been set up for motorists. More information is available at 432-2100.

Governor Cuomo announced that temporary lane closures for road and bridge construction projects on New York State highways will be suspended beginning tomorrow morning at 6:00 AM through Monday, November 26th at 6:00 AM to accommodate travelers during the busy Thanksgiving Holiday Weekend. Some work may continue behind permanent concrete barriers or for emergency repairs. New Yorkers are also reminded that state and local law enforcement will be participating in an impaired driving enforcement campaign from Wednesday through Sunday; motorists also need to remember to follow the state's Move Over Law.

Schoharie County Judge Richard Mott finished deliberations today, he found Cal Harris NOT GUILTY of killing his estrnaged wife Michelle Harris in September 2001. Harris was convicted twice before in Tioga County Court, the 3rd jury trial ended with a deadlocked jury.

The statewide unemployment rate for April rose 1/10th to 4.9%, the State Labor Department has released the local unemployment rates for April. Chenango County equaled the state rate at 4.9%, Delaware County had a 5.5% rate & Otsego County had 4.6% unemployment.

Oneonta Mayor Gary Herzig announced that the city of Oneonta has filed an application for 10 million dollars as part of Governor Cuomo's Downtown Revitalization initiative. The DRI would invest 10 million dollars each in 10 communities with development project needs; a copy of the Oneonta application can be viewed at oneonta.ny.us/city/government.

Governor Cuomo announced that road and bridge construction projects on State highways will be suspended from 6:00 AM Friday, to 6:00 AM Tuesday, May 31st, in order to accommodate travelers during the busy Memorial Day holiday weekend. Some work may continue behind permanent concrete barriers or for emergency repairs. AAA predicts that of the more than 38 million people traveling more than 50 miles from home this weekend, an estimated 34 million of them will be traveling by car. The Otsego County Sheriff's department is continuing the investigation into Monday's Bank robbery at the Edmeston NBT bank branch. The suspect is described as a white male, in his mid-to-late twenties, 5 foot 7 to 5 foot ten, with a thin build, he was last seen wearing light-colored pants, a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt, dark-colored shoes, a dark-colored knit hat and dark-rimmed glasses. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Otsego County Sheriff’s Office at 547-4273.

The Village of Sidney announced that work would be performed on the Main Street Bridge today from 9:00 to 3:00 PM. The bridge will be open for 1 lane for traffic during the work.

The State DOT will hold a public meeting Today, regarding plans to rehabilitate a bridge on State Route 28 in the town of Milford, The meeting will be held at Milford Central School, the Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and a formal presentation will be conducted at 7 p.m. The bridge was built in 1985 and carries State Route 28 over State Route 7 and the Norfolk Southern Railroad Main Line. The purpose of the meeting is to share and exchange information with the public regarding the project and its potential impacts, including proposed work zone traffic control options to manage traffic during construction.

State Police arrested 29-year-old Gregory Flanagan of Oneonta for felony DWI and several other traffic tickets Saturday. Flanagan was observed moving from his lane unsafely as he was driving on State Route 23 in the Town of Oneonta. An investigation determined that he was driving while intoxicated. This arrest was a felony because Flanagan has a prior conviction for DWI within the last 10 years. He refused to submit to a breath test to determine his blood alcohol content. Flanagan was arraigned in the Town of Oneonta court and was released without bail required. His next court date in the Town of Oneonta is on April 7, 2016.

Over the past 10 years, state aid to school districts has increased $6 billion to $23.3 billion in 2015-16, according to a report issued today by State Comptroller Tom DiNapoli. Over the past decade, school aid has averaged 23.6 percent of state-funded expenditures. The Division of the Budget projects this share to increase to 25.6 percent over the next three years. This year's Executive Budget proposes a total school funding increase of $991 million, including $266 million in Foundation Aid and the elimination of the GEA entirely for 200 mostly high need districts and reducing it by at least 30 percent for the remaining districts. The Chenango County Sheriff’s Office arrested 50-year-old Clifton Brooks for multiple drug related offenses in the Town of Norwich. Brooks was brought to the Chenango County Correctional Facility on drug related charges by the Village of Greene Police Department, While being processed into the facility, Correctional Officers located Crack Cocaine and Heroin, some of which was in a foot bandage. Brooks was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, Introducing Prison Contraband, and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, he is being held in the Chenango County Jail and will appear in the Town of Norwich Court for arraignment Thursday.

The Suicide Prevention Network of Delaware County is sponsoring a free educational forum, “Let’s Talk-Mental Health Awareness” tonight from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the O’Neil High School at 47-49 Stockton Avenue Walton. There will be refreshments and a resource fair at 6pm and the presentation and panel discussion will begin at 6:30pm. The Otsego County Sheriff’s Office arrested 35 year old Robert Guitierrez of Oneonta for allegedly performing sexual acts with a 14 year old female in the town of Milford. Gutierrez is charged with 2nd degree rape & endangering the welfare of a child, He was arraigned in the Town of Otsego Court and was sent to the Otsego County Jail on $2,000 cash bail, he posted bail & is scheduled to appear in the Town of Otsego Court Wednesday.

Afton Firefighters are credited with avoiding an escalation of a fire Monday afternoon in a storage garage behind Interstate Batteries on Route 7 in Afton. The fire was reported at about 2:00 PM & was under control in about 20 minutes. The Investigation into the cause of the fire is continuing. No injuries were reported.
