The Amphenol Corporation in Sidney is celebrating their 100th anniversary in Sidney this year, with a special open house on July 19th at their facility on Delaware Avenue, Director of Marketing Communication Chris Cappello told WCDO News about the open house:

Cappello said that he has also written a book that should be ready by the time of the Open House about the history of Amphenol in Sidney entitled "Connecting History", complete with interviews & donated memorabilia.

Binghamton Police announced that 50 year old Scott Mitchell of Binghamton, was extradited from Florida back to Binghamton, Mitchell was wanted regarding the homicides of Daniel McCloe and Marshall VanOven, on February 3rd in Binghamton. Mitchell has been charged with 2 counts of 2nd degree murder, he was arraigned in Binghamton City Court and remanded to the Broome County Jail, anyone with information about the murders should contact Binghamton Police Detectives at (607) 772-7080

Binghamton Police announced that 50 year old Scott Mitchell of Binghamton, was extradited from Florida back to Binghamton, Mitchell was wanted regarding the homicides of Daniel McCloe and Marshall VanOven, on February 3rd in Binghamton. 50 Year old Scott Mitchell of Binghamton has been apprehended by law Enforcement in the state of Florida. Mitchell was located in Daytona Beach, he is wanted for questioning regarding the murders of 58 year old Daniel McCloe & 55 year old Marshall VanOven, who were found in a Binghamton apartment February 5th after they were reported missing. The Autopsy concluded that the cause of death was murder for both men, Mitchell faces extradition from Volusia County back to Binghamton shortly.

The State DEC announced that dates for the 34th annual Free Fishing Days program, which will be this Saturday & Sunday February 15 and 16, plus June 28 and 29, September 27 and November 11. While fishing during these days is free, all other regulations remain in effect. Outside of these free days, anglers over the age of 16 must have a valid fishing license to fish, more information is available at dec.ny.gov.

The Broome County District Attorney Mike Korchak announced that a grand jury has filed charges against 2 murder suspects in Broome County Court regarding unrelated homicide cases. Mitchell Lindow was charged with 1st degree murder in connection to a December 2nd stabbing, where Lindow allegedly killed David Royes while committing a felony burglary at 110 Main Street in Binghamton by stabbing him multiple times. Korchak also said that Kyle Babola is charged with 2nd degree murder for the killing of Scott Grover with a machete in Johnson City. Both face court action at a later date.
