Congressman Anthony Brindisi made appearances around his
22nd district yesterday, to push for The “Stop for School Buses Act”, following
the release of dramatic video in Norwich last week, of Samantha Call keeping a
student from leaving her bus, when she saw a car passing the bus illegally.
Brindisi is looking for a sponsor in the Senate, he said that the National
School Transportation Association reports that 9 to 15 children a year are
killed getting on or off their school bus.
The Bainbridge Guilford Central School District is having a
follow up Safety Forum tonight, to address a variety of Safety concerns for
students in & outside of the School, Superintendent Tim Ryan comments:

PM at the BG Junior Senior High School, parents are urged to attend &

The Chenango
Arts Council hosted the 2019 Chenango Area Student Art Show, Lucy Funke and
Chenango Music Scholarship awards ceremony last Friday. The Lucy Funke
Scholarship was awarded to Riley Webster of Sherburne Earlville & Andrea
Dempsey of the Oxford Academy, the Chenango Music Scholarship goes to Matthew
Ryan of the Sherburne Earlville district, The Chenango Area Student Show
winners in a variety of categories were Riley Webster of Sherburne Earlville,
Guin Warren of Norwich, Ashley Spooner of Afton, Samantha Emerson of Oxford,
Shanee Baker Bush of Oxford & Madisyn Stowell of Sherburne Earlville.   All eligible pieces will be entered in
Congressman Anthony Brindisi’s Congressional Art Show in Utica; the winning
entry will have a chance to be displayed in Washington for a year.

State Police & Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 36 year old Christopher Pashley of Franklin & 23 year old Samantha Ryan of Walton, for allegedly taking property in the towns of Franklin, Unadilla and Sidney. Pashley was arrested for 2 counts of 3rd degree Burglary & 5 counts of Petty Larceny; Ryan was arrested for the Criminal Possession of Stolen Property and Falsifying Business Records. Pashley is accused of stealing items, while Ryan allegedly sold them to Otsego Auto Crushers. Pashley was arraigned in the town of Unadilla Court; he was remanded to the Otsego County Jail on $10,000 cash bail or $30,000 bond. Ryan was released on an appearance tickets returnable to the town of Davenport Court on August 28th.
