50 Year old Scott Mitchell of Binghamton has been apprehended by law Enforcement in the state of Florida. Mitchell was located in Daytona Beach, he is wanted for questioning regarding the murders of 58 year old Daniel McCloe & 55 year old Marshall VanOven, who were found in a Binghamton apartment February 5th after they were reported missing. The Autopsy concluded that the cause of death was murder for both men, Mitchell faces extradition from Volusia County back to Binghamton shortly.

Robert Colson pleaded guilty in Chenango County Court to burglary charges for unlawfully entering 2 businesses, he admitted to the crimes prior to the start of a trial. Colson will be sentenced to state prison for 3 to 6 years as part of a plea bargain arrangement, he will return to County Court on April 11 for sentencing. Colson was arrested by Chenango County Sheriff's Deputies in August of 2023 for allegedly breaking into retail establishments to steal tobacco products.

Delaware County Deputies investigated a two car property damage motor vehicle accident in the Town of Bovina Friday. 78 year old Maria Aron of Bovina, was driving on East Bramley Mountain Road when she failed to stop at the stop sign and County Highway 6 and struck another vehicle operated by 30 year old Robert Poprawski of Livonia. Aron's vehicle continued across the roadway and through the parking area of Town of Bovina Highway Department and struck the side of a building before coming to a stop. Aron was issued traffic ticket for Failure to Stop at Stop Sign, returnable to the Town of Bovina Court on July 18th.
The Chenango County Sheriff’s Office arrested 22 year Justin Holmquist of North Norwich and 20 year old Cody Marshall of Sherburne for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance. Holmquist and Marshall were arraigned in the City of Norwich Court and remanded to the Chenango County Jail on $10,000 cash bail, for allegedly trying to sell a controlled substance in April.

State Police arrested 57-year-old Robert Crowley of Windsor for 2 counts of 3rd degree Grand Larceny. The arrest followed an investigation for missing money from the bank accounts of the Windsor Youth Sports Programs. Crowley is accused of taking about $18,000 from the account while serving as the director of the program. Crowley was arraigned in the Town of Windsor court and was released without bail required. The investigation is ongoing.
State Police arrested 31-year-old Dax Marshall of Oneonta for aggravated driving while intoxicated with a B.A.C. result of .18%, more than twice the legal limit. This arrest occurred after a traffic stop for speeding on East End Avenue in the City of Oneonta. Marshall was issued tickets for City of Oneonta court.

25 year old Jaclyn Wesley of Binghamton was sentenced to 3 to 9 years for vehicular manslaughter Wednesday in Broome County Court. Wesley was the driver of an SUV that went off of I-88 into the Chenango River in May of 2011, killing passengers Carri Michalski, Robert Moorhead and Robert Marshall, Wesley was intoxicated at the time of the crash. An appeal on Wesley’s behalf is expected to be filed shortly.

25-year-old Jaclyn Wesley of Binghamton woman, will be sentenced Wednesday in Broome County Court, after being convicted last year for 3 counts of 1st degree vehicular manslaughter, as well as DWI. Wesley was the driver of an SUV that plunged into the Chenango River from I-88 on may 20th 2011, killing her 3 passengers: 25 year old Rob Moorehead of Port Crane, and Binghamton residents 45 year old Robert Marshall and 39 year old Carri Michalski. Wesley could receive the maximum sentence of 5 to 15 years in prison; she had Blood Alcohol Content of .13 at the time of the incident.

The trial of 25 year old Binghamton resident Jaclyn Wesley began in Broome County Court yesterday. In May of 2011, Wesley was driving her Ford Explorer when it went off Interstate 88 west in the town of Fenton and into the Chenango River. There were 4 people in the vehicle and Wesley was the only survivor. The bodies of 39-year-old Carri Michalski, 25-year-old Robert Moorehead and 45-year-old Robert Marshall were later recovered from the river. Wesley is facing seven misdemeaners including driving while intoxicated in the case. The trial continues at the Broome County Courthouse.

Wesley was originally charged with 3 counts of first-degree vehicular manslaughter and 7 other charges, including DWI.
