The race for governor pits incumbent Democrat Andrew Cuomo, against Republican Rob Astorino & Green Party candidate Howie Hawkins is on the ballot again. In the State Attorney General's race, Incumbent democrat Eric Schneiderman faces Republican John Cahill. In the race for State Comptroller, incumbent Democrat Tom DiNapoli faces Republican Robert Antonacci. In races of local interest, for the 19th Congressional District, Republican Incumbent Chris Gibson faces democrat Sean Eldridge. In the 52nd State Senate district, Incumbent Republican Tom Libous faces Democrat Anndrea Starzak. In the State Assembly in the 121st Assembly District, incumbent Democrat Bill Magee faces a challenge from republican John Salka. In Sidney, Republican Loddie Marsh is running on the Democratic party line, while Jody Proffitt carries the Republican spot on the ballot for a town council seat. Insurance company AIG has agreed to pay New York state $35 million to settle claims that two former subsidiaries did business without licenses and misled regulators about their operations in the state. The deal was announced by the state Department of Financial Services. It comes after a $60 million settlement in March with MetLife, which purchased the subsidiaries from AIG. Authorities had alleged subsidiaries American Life Insurance Co. and Delaware American Life Insurance Co. sought customers in New York without licenses and without telling regulators. Under the settlement, AIG will drop a legal challenge to the state's probe and the state will not proceed with charges or a lawsuit

Governor Cuomo leads Rob Astorino 54-33% with Green Party candidate Howie Hawkins up to 9%. A New Siena poll on the Governor's race was released, it shows incumbent Democratic Governor Andrew Cuomo with a 29-point lead over his Republican Challenger Rob Astorino. The poll also shows Cuomo leading by 71 points within the democratic party and Cuomo's still popular among Republicans only trailing Astorino by 10 points within Astorino's own party. Republican gubernatorial candidate Rob Astorino wants to reduce income tax rates while lowering the number of tax brackets from eight to two. Astorino discussed his proposal yesterday in Manhattan. He would also cut the corporate franchise tax and eliminate the estate tax. A Wall Street Journal/ Marist College/ NBC News poll released Monday showed that Governor Cuomo's favorability rating decreased by 5% points compared to last month, down to 53%. Republican Rob Astorino's ratings were down by 1% to 22%. Cuomo reported $6.8 million in campaign expenses, Republican Rob Astorino, raised $3.4 million in the past 6 months, with a current campaign balance of $2.4 million.
The Delaware County Local Development Corporation closed on 2 loans totaling $118,000. The loans were made to Natural Gardens LLC and the Andrew Hinkley Insurance Agency, which together anticipate creating approximately 22 new jobs in Delaware County over a 2-year period. Natural Gardens will turn 80 acres of land into a teaching farm & event center for parties, weddings and corporate events, which will be complete with a microbrewery. Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 22-year-old Peter Minko of Franklin for possession of a hypodermic instrument, following an incident that led to Minko being arrested for violating the terms of his probation. County Probation Officers searched Minko’s home; they found hypodermic needles & drug paraphernalia, Minko will return to Franklin Town Court at a later date to answer the charges.
