New York’s new coronavirus testing requirement for travelers began today. Those traveling to New York must have proof of a negative test dated within 3 days of arriving in the state & they must quarantine for at least 3 days upon arrival and get another COVID-19 test on the 4th day, if that test is negative, the quarantine ends. If the test is positive, the mandatory quarantine continues and contact tracing efforts will be deployed. The full list of regulations is available at coronavirus.health.ny.us.

With most ballots counted, winners are being projected in local races of interest. In the 22nd Congressional District, Claudia Tenney is leading over democratic incumbent Anthony Brindisi, in the 19th District, Brindisi won that seat over Tenney 2 years ago. Antonio Delgado wins re-election over Republican Kyle Van De Water. In local State Senate races, in the 42 District Republican Mike Martucci defeats Democratic Incumbent Jen Metzger, in the 51st district, Republican Peter Oberacker defeats Jim Barber for Jim Seward's seat, and Fred Akshar wins the 52nd district over Libertarian Thomas Quiter in a landslide. In the State Assembly, in the 122nd District, Joe Angelino has a comfortable lead over Rick Shaw with most of the votes counted, in the 121st District, Republican incumbent John Salka wins re-election over Dan Butterman.

State Officials are waiting to see if any federal aid will come to the states to help with large deficits associated with the pandemic & subsequent shutdown.  Crouch is retiring after this year, Voters will decide between Republican Joe Angelino & Rick Shaw to fill his seat.
