47 year old Richard Foster of Walton was indicted in Delaware County Court from 2 related assaults that in Walton. The indictment alleges that on August 1st, Foster assaulted 2 individuals in a parking lot, he was charged with 1st degree Assault, on Count 2 also for 1st degree Assault, Foster allegedly intended to disfigure another person, the last count charges Foster fro 3rd Degree Assault against a 2nd female individual who was attempting to intervene and stop Foster from continuing the attack. Foster is currently incarcerated at the Delaware County Jail on $15,000 cash or $25,0000 bond bail awaiting the arraignment on the indictment.

Norwich City Police Department conducted a no-knock search warrant at 35 Pleasant Street as part of an investigation methamphetamine and fentanyl sales. 10 people were arrested on various drug & Criminal Nuisance charges. Arrested were 55 year old Todd Diamond, 66 Year old Charles Bates, 34 year old Todd Diamond, 52 year old Loreen Diamond, 27 year old Andrew Palmer, 24 year old Stephanie Donnelly, 58 year old Howard Grome, 37 year old Travis Foster, 42 year old Matthew Tiedemann & 29 year old Richard Garreau, all of Norwich. The arrests followed a months-long investigation into drug activity, investigators successfully conducted controlled purchases of the drugs, a search warrant executed Thursday which led to the discovery of a methamphetamine lab inside the home. The State Police Contaminated Crime Scene Emergency Response Team was called in to collect hazardous materials, Norwich Fire and Codes Department condemned the property.

The investigation led Detectives to the Town of Afton, they were able to recover the stolen UTV from that location, the UTV sustained significant damage Terrell was charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property, Criminal Mischief, and Criminal Possession of a Weapon. 49 year old Richard Foster of Middletown appeared in Delaware County Court & entered a guilty plea to Attempted Assault, Foster was originally charged with a series of crimes stemming from a domestic assault that took place on March 14th. Foster was observed obstructing traffic on State Highway 28, Officers apprehended him after he struck a woman multiple times and attempted to steal prescription pills. Foster was sentenced to one year in jail, an Order of Protection was issued for the victim for a period of 2 years.

The Delaware County Sheriff’s Department & State Police announced that 7 people were sent to jail on felony drug charges following the discovery, dismantling and clean-up of an active meth-lab at 116 East Street in the Village of Walton Tuesday night. Police executed a search warrant, 7 adults and 3 children were removed, and the children were provided medical evaluation for potential contamination of toxic chemicals and were placed into emergency foster care. Police seized an active meth lab, prescription medications, cocaine, marijuana and public assistance benefit cards. Sheriff’s Investigators arrested James Nash, of Walton; Amanda Bicknell, of Walton; James Klinegardner of Tennessee, Brooklyn Alford of Walton; Tammy Lewis, of Walton; Johnny & Emily Uhl of Swan Lake, on a variety of drug charges plus Endangering the Welfare of a Child. All 7defendants were returned to the Delaware County Jail on $150,000 cash bail or $300,000 property bond.
The Oxford Police Department has teamed up with "Truth Pharm" to try a different approach to the growing heroin problem; they will be holding a free Narcan training session for anyone interested at the Oxford High School at today 5:30 PM. Oxford Police Chief Richard Nolan comments:

Chief Nolan said that they will also be holding another session in more detail for first responders in February, they are also receiving grant money to set aside an area for people struggling with addiction to come & talk with Police & Volunteers on how to get treatment to beat the heroin addiction.

The Otsego county Sheriff's department arrested 3 people on drug charges. 33-year-old Jason Foster of New Lisbon is accused of selling marijuana from the Oneonta Wal-Mart parking lot, while also working at the store. Foster was charged along with his wife Alice for felony possession of marijuana after 12 ounces of marijuana and 11 pot plants were seized from their home, along with a scale, rifles and equipment used to grow marijuana indoors and outdoors. 28-year-old Joseph Lukeman of Mount Vision was charged with evidence tampering and criminal possession of marijuana after he allegedly removed a quantity of marijuana from the Fosters' home after the investigation began.
State Assemblywoman Claudia Tenney is now the only candidate for the 22nd following the announcement that incumbent Congressman Richard Hanna would not seek re-election to another term in 2016. Tenney announced her decision to make another attempt at the Congressional seat after losing the republican primary in 2014.
