New Yorkers will vote on School Budgets in New York State Tuesday, as well as Board of Education seats, school bus purchases or other ancillary costs associated with education. Sidney Superintendent Eben Bullock told WCDO News about their 35.5 Million Dollar Budget with 0% tax levy increase:

Voting will be at the Sidney High School from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Bainbridge Guilford Superintendent Tim Ryan told WCDO News that they had to deal with a $1 Million dollar gap before sending the proposal to voters:

The BG total budget is 26.9 Million dollars, the Tax Levy Increase is 1.59% Voting will be at the Greenlawn & Guilford Elementary school buildings. In the Unatego School District, Dr. Dave Richards told WCDO about their budget:

Voting for Unatego area residents will be from 12:00 to 8:00 PM at the Jr. Sr. High school.

State Police arrested 30 year Patrick Mott of Homer following an investigation into a child sex abuse case. Mott was charged with Rape, Sexual Abuse, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, for allegedly, having inappropriate sexual contact with a child under the age of 11. Mott was processed and was being held for arraignment.

Binghamton Police arrested 36 year old Patrick Shea for 2nd degree murder & 4th degree arson, following the investigation into the fire February 12th at 1 Main Street, where Binghamton firefighter John Gaudet died. The fire was ruled as an arson, Shea was arraigned by a Grand Jury in Broome County Court on Friday, he was remanded to the Broome County Jail without bail.

55 year old Jeffrey Kaufman of Downsville was sentenced to 364 days in jail for each count of 3rd degree Assault. Kaufman admitted to attempting to assault Police Officers, on July 28, 2024. Officer Bryanna Houck of the Colchester Police Department was engaged in an unrelated traffic stop, Kaufman exited his residence & began to yell obscenities at Officer Houck, who called for & received assistance. the officers placed Kaufman under arrest for Obstruction of Governmental Administration and Disorderly Conduct, Kaufman attempted to damage the cruiser & spit on & kick at an officer & was still combative at the police station.

41 year old Patrick Ladd of Walton, was convicted in Delaware County Court for Attempted Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, with intent to sell, Ladd appeared Monday for a conference on his pending indictment, he then pleaded guilty to the charge, he admitted that he possessed 2 grams of methamphetamine and 13 bags of heroin in Walton on December 17, 2023, he also admitted that he planned to sell those drugs. Judge Hubbard ordered Ladd to serve 4 years in state prison and 2 years of post-release supervision. The defendant was remanded to the Delaware County Correctional Facility to begin serving his sentence.

Delaware County Sheriffs Deputies responded in December to an address in the Town of Franklin to assist the Delaware County Probation Office with a search of a residence. Deputies secured a quantity of drugs & paraphernalia from 43 year old Ryan Vandeusen of Franklin. Vandeusen was on Probation at the time of the possession, Vandeusen was charged with 2 counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminally using drug paraphernalia, he was released on an appearance ticket returnable to Franklin Town Court at a later date.

The 55th annual Binghamton St. Patrick Day’s parade returns to downtown tomorrow. City officials announced that 5 bagpipe bands will march tomorrow, Binghamton Police will be enforcing open container laws, thousands of spectators are anticipated.

In the 19th Congressional District, the Democratic Party Primary candidates are Jamie Cheney & Josh Riley, the winner in that race will appear on the Ballot in November for the term starting January 1st 2023.

A special Election Day will be held tomorrow, starting at 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM. A Special Election is being held locally to fill the 19th Congressional District, following the appointment of Antonio Delgado to Lieutenant Governor, the candidates are Republican Marcus Molinaro and Democrat Patrick Ryan, the winner will fill the position through the end of this year. Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a 911 call
for a burglary in progress on Seeley Wood Road in the Town of Walton.  Deputies were informed that 40 year old Ryan
Kite of Walton fled from the scene; Kite is accused of forcefully entering the
residence & allegedly stole prescription medication and choked a female
victim.  Deputies located Kite in Walton
Tuesday evening, he was charged with 2nd degree Burglary, Criminal
Mischief & Criminal Obstruction of Breathing or Blood Circulation, he was
arraigned & was released on his own recognizance pending his appearance in
the Town of Walton Court on a later date.

A State Budget Presentation will be held by Commissioner of
the Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services Major General Patrick
Murphy in Norwich today.  The presentation
will be held at 12:00 p.m. at the Northeast Classic Car Museum, Rexford Street
in Norwich.

State agriculture commissioner Darrel Aubertine announced that Thomas Ryan of Little Falls would replace Dan O'Hara as director of the great New York State Fair, on February 1st.  Ryan is the current serves in the Thruway Authority, he has also held positions with the U.S. General Services Administration, the Federal Transit Administration, and has served in a variety of positions for the late New York Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan and former Governor Mario Cuomo.  O'Hara was the director of the last 6 state fairs starting in 2007, when he was appointed by then-Governor Eliot Spitzer.

The Delaware county sheriff’s Deputies arrested 29 year old Patrick Ladd and 30 year old Walter Lewis of Pennsylvania, after the two men allegedly sold 73 bags of Heroin to a confidential informant under the supervision of the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office. The drug deal and subsequent arrest took place in the parking lot of the Downsville Country Store Friday; Both men were charged with one count each of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree. Both men were arraigned at the
Town of Colchester Court and remanded to the Delaware County Correctional Facility in lieu of $100,000.00 cash bail each.

State Police at Sidney arrested 24-Year-Old Ryan Olsen of Guilford, for Petty Larceny and 4th degree Criminal Mischief. The arrest resulted from an investigation into the theft of five hens and damage caused to a chicken coop on Crest Drive in Bainbridge; Olsen was issued an Appearance Ticket returnable in the Town of Bainbridge Court today.
