State Troopers will be out in full force with the St. Patrick's Day celebrations coming up later this month. The STOP-DWI campaign will kick off Thursday, March 13 and last until Tuesday, March 18. St. Patrick's Day is on Monday, March 17th this year. In 2024, the troopers ran their St. Patrick's Day campaign from March 15th through March 17th. In that time, troopers issued over 5,500 tickets during that time. State Troopers also made 132 arrests for DWI infractions and they also investigated 199 crashes during that weekend.

State Police at Deposit responded Thursday to a fatal crash in the 4100 block of State Route 26 in the town of Nanticoke. Troopers, Maine Ambulance and Glen Aubrey Fire Department found that a Ford pick-up that had crashed, with the driver pinned underneath the tire. It was determined that the driver was already deceased by the time the first responders arrived. The driver is identified as 22 year old Sethe Menta of Lisle, Members of the Bureau of Criminal Investigation and the Collision Reconstruction Unit also responded to the scene.

The Delaware County Sheriff's Office arrested 27 year old Ford Bailey-Banks of Davenport for 2nd degree Burglary, criminal trespass. On March 5th, 2024, Sheriffs Deputies received a complaint that Bailey-Banks had entered onto another’s property and into dwelling, where he stole multiple items as well a firearm, he was transported to the Delaware County Sheriffs Office to await Centralized Arraignment Processing and will be scheduled to appear at the Town of Harpersfield Court at a later date to answer for the charges.

On December 8, 2023, State Police received a report of an unknown individual requesting indecent material from a minor over text message and social media, he was arrested earlier this week, and was transported to Chenango County Jail.

State Police today announced that it issued 5,576 tickets during this year’s St. Patrick’s Day enforcement initiative. State Troopers arrested 132 people for DWI and investigated 199 crashes, which resulted in 25 people being injured and no fatalities. Troopers ticketed 1788 for speeding, 406 tickets were issued in the Troop C area.

34 year old Patrick Kain of Norwich pleaded guilty in federal court to 3 counts of sexual exploitation of a child and 1 count of committing a felony involving a minor by a registered sex offender. Kain admitted that from about 2016 through 2019 he created sexually explicit images and videos of 3 different victims, each of whom was about 5 years old, he also possessed about 90 videos and 10 images of child pornography not involving his own victims, on a laptop and at an online storage account, Kain faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 35 years and a maximum sentence of 160 years, a $250,000 fine and restitution to the victims, when he is sentenced on October 6th -

Otsego County Sheriff's department arrested 27 year old Brandon Doyle of Sharon Springs after an investigation into an animal cruelty in the Town of Westford last month. Doyle was charged with Overdriving, Torturing and Injuring Animals & Failure to Provide Proper Sustenance following a cattle complaint reported from the Susquehanna SPCA Doyle was issued an appearance ticket returnable to Town of Westford Court at a later date.
The Community Cultural Center of Sidney will have their official Ribbon Cutting ceremony this Saturday at 1:00 PM, at the corner of Bridge & Main Street. The 1st use of the building will be for an art exhibit, and then many other options will be available, according to Executive Director Pat Cristelli:

Just after 4:30 p.m., Jason Johnson was taken into custody near a river bank off State Route 79 in Colesville.
EARLY AFTERNOON UPDATE:
Broome County Sheriff’s Deputies and State Police responded to East Windsor Road in Colesville to check on the welfare of an individual at 8:35 PM Wednesday night, . Law enforcement did exchange gunfire with Johnson, State Trooper Becky Seager was shot in the hip & was taken to Wilson Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Multiple agencies are looking for 34 year old Jason Johnson this afternoon, he is described as a white male, 5’7 and 160 pounds with a Mohawk style haircut, he was last seen in the East Windsor Road area near Thorn Hill. He is considered armed and dangerous, It’s possible that Johnson may be operating a 1996 Ford F-250 pick-up truck, blue in color with the NY license plate HZV7759, Police said that the public should not approach him and should call 911 immediately.

A Delaware County Grand Jury handed down Sealed Indictments last Thursday relating to 4 separate narcotics trafficking investigations conducted by members of the Delaware County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Unit. Sheriff's Office Investigators and Deputies arrested 30-year-old Gregory Shamus of Delhi, 28-year-old Cody Warner of Trout Creek, 31-year-old Patrick Ford of Delancey, & 38-year-old Jennifer Fogliano of Masonville on Sealed Indictment Arrest Warrants on a variety drug charges. All of the defendants were arraigned today in Delaware County Court and were remanded to the Delaware County Jail without bail pending further court action.
The Bainbridge Guilford Girls Volleyball Team won the New York state Class D Title this weekend in Glens Falls, with an exciting win over defending Champions Panama from Western New York. B-G Coach Tami Selfridge said that the team made school history with this win:

Delaware County Sheriff's Deputies arrested 30-year-old Patrick Ford of Delancey, on a Bench Warrant issued by the Town of Delhi Court as a result of Ford’s failure to appear to answer charges of Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree and Petit Larceny. Ford was arraigned in the Town of Delhi Court & was remanded to the Delaware County Correctional Facility on $250 cash bail.

Delaware County Sheriff's Office arrested 2 men Friday, in connection with a Town of Delhi burglary and a traffic stop in the Town of Kortright. 37-year-old Patrick Burnside of Bloomville and 43 year old George Robinson of Delhi, were charged with 2nd degree Burglary, 3rd degree Grand Larceny plus Conspiracy & Criminally Possessing a Hypodermic Instrument. Robinson was also charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle as Deputies observed him operating a motor vehicle in Kortright with a suspended license. Both men are accused of entering a Town of Delhi residence on July 17th and stealing a safe containing cash and jewelry valued at $6,000, they were arraigned and were remanded to the Delaware County Jail on Bail pending further court action. The Investigation is continuing.

Delaware County Sheriff Deputies arrested 30-year-old Patrick Ford of Delancey, Saturday for Grand Larceny & Petty Larceny, following a report of a stolen wallet in the Town of Delhi. Ford is alleged to have stolen a wallet containing a credit card and a sum of cash from a residence in the Town of Delhi; he was arraigned in the Town of Delhi Court & was remanded to the Delaware County Jail on $1,000 cash bail or $2,000 bond.
