Hartwick College President Margaret Drugovich said that the idea stemmed from a Hartwick student working as an intern at Brewery Ommegang in Cooperstown 3 years ago, it snowballed into the $250,000 legislative grant that led to the establishment of the Center:

Assemblyman Magee noted that New York state has experienced a renaissance in craft brewing thanks to new state laws that he helped author, that now allows for micro breweries, farm Breweries & Cideries to open across the state.
Governor Cuomo announced the New York State Public Service Commission's approval of a 10-year, $5 billion Clean Energy Fund to accelerate the growth of New York's clean energy economy, address climate change, strengthen resiliency in the face of extreme weather and lower energy bills for New Yorkers starting this year. Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested a Walton man Thursday following their investigation of an accident on State Highway 10 in the Town of Delhi. 61-year-old Darren Pilch of Walton is accused of driving at an excessive speed when he lost control of his vehicle, which left the roadway and over turned. Pilch was transported to O’Connor Hospital in Delhi, the investigation revealed that Pilch was intoxicated at the time of the accident and had been convicted in February 2015 of Driving with .08% or more Blood Alcohol Concentration. Deputies charged Pilch with 1 count of felony DWI, reckless driving, failure to keep right, moving from lane unsafely, speed not reasonable and prudent and unlawful possession of marihuana. Pilch was arraigned and was remanded to the Delaware County Jail on $1,000 cash bail or $2,000 bond pending a future court appearance.

On Saturday, a multi-agency active shooter drill will be conducted at the Unatego High School on State Route 7 in the Town of Otego. The drill will start at 8:30 AM and run Until 4:00 PM, It will be conducted by members of the State Police, Wells Bridge, Franklin, Otego, & Unadilla Fire Departments, Cooperstown Medical Transport, Life Net, Otsego County 911, Otsego County Emergency Management, & the Oneonta & Sidney EMS squads.
State Police at Binghamton responded to a 3 vehicle accident with a fatality on Interstate 81 northbound; near exit 2, in the Town of Kirkwood Thursday 37 year old Clever Agudo of Flushing was driving a tractor trailer when he struck the rear end of a Chevrolet Cobalt driven by 27 year old Kyle Shaffer of Endicott. Shaffer’s car struck the rear of a conversion van being driven by Theresa Mandigo, of Fort Edward, and then went off the shoulder of the roadway. Shaffer was pronounced deceased at the scene, no other injuries were reported, the investigation is continuing.
GOVERNOR CUOMO announced the confirmation of JANET DIFIORE as Chief Judge of the Court of Appeals and head of New York’s judicial branch. Judge DiFiore becomes the 2nd woman to lead the state’s highest court.
