Broome County Sheriff’s Office investigators responded to a report of animal abuse in the Town of Lisle with possible animal sexual abuse. 32 year old Kenneth Carman of Lisle, admitted to multiple instances of animal sexual abuse and attempting to perform sexual acts with his female pitbull. Carman was taken into custody and charged with Sexual Misconduct with an Animal & Animal Cruelty, Carman was also arrested on a warrant for violation of probation and was remanded to the Broome County Correctional Facility.
Recently Expelled Long Island former congressman George Santos announced he is running for Congress for a different seat than the one he held previously. Santos was charged with Conspiracy, Wire Fraud, False Statements, Falsification of Records, Aggravated Identity Theft, and Credit Card Fraud. A trial is expected to begin in September.

The Broome County Sheriff’s Office attempting to identify a white female, who attempted to fraudulently cash a $4,000 check at a bank using an ID stolen from a vehicle in Otsiningo Park in Binghamton on February 22, There was also an apparent attempt to cash a check in Vestal using the same victim’s ID. Anyone with information on the identity of the female suspect is asked to please contact the Broome County Sheriff’s Office at 607-778-8861, the picture of the suspect can be found on the Broome County Sheriff's Office Facebook Page.

Craig Ross Jr. pleaded guilty Wednesday to 1st-degree kidnapping and predatory sexual assault of a child, according to the Saratoga County district attorney, and faces 47 years to life in prison. Ross abducted 9 year old Charlotte Sena on September 30th from Moreau Lake State Park, as she was riding her bicycle while picnicking with her family, she disappeared and a search led to Ross 2 days later when state police troopers and an FBI SWAT team stormed a camper Ross was staying in. Rescuers found the girl alive in a cabinet. The guilty plea comes prior to a trial that was scheduled in April, Ross will be sentenced on April 17.

The case of Ganesh "Remy" Ramsaran of New Berlin will go national tonight on NBC's Dateline. Ramsaran pleaded guilty last year to a reduced charge of Manslaughter fro the 2012 killing of his wife Jennifer Ramsaran. NBC Dateline will devote 2 hours of airtime to the the case entitled “The Perfect Life,” at 9:00 PM, More information and a preview for the episode can be found at nbcnews.com.

The Coventry Fire Department's EMS unit is holding classes in the coming weeks, as they try to get more people involved, Spokesman Kyle Button told WCDO News that they have free classes coming up on March 17th for those interested in the basics of life saving techniques:

The Otsego County Sheriff’s Office arrested 43 year old Brian Boore of Oneonta following the investigation into a complaint at the Otsego County Correctional Facility. Boore was charged with 3rd & 4th degree Criminal Mischief, he is accused of intentionally damaging property at the Sheriff’s Office property, he was arrested and issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Middlefield Court at a later date.

Governor Cuomo held a COVID 19 briefing today, he outlined how the state will try to keep hospitalizations from COVID at manageable levels, and the state will have to work to get everyone vaccinated against COVID, once the vaccines physically arrive in the state:

The Governor said that over 193,000 tests were conducted Tuesday, with over 8900 testing positive, about 4.6% of all tested.  Hospitalizations continue to increase, with 3924 hospitalized, 742 are now in an ICU bed & 373 are on ventilators, there were 69 deaths Tuesday.
The tree lighting ceremony at Rockefeller Center will be held virtually tonight. There will be no public viewing of the lighting ceremony, but New Yorkers can watch it on NBC at 8:00 PM.  Starting Thursday, December 3rd, the tree will open to the public with protocols in place to manage crowds.  This Year's tree came from West Oneonta.
The State Division of Consumer Protection reminds consumers that New York’s gender price equity law protects shoppers this holiday season.  This new law eliminates the “Pink Tax,” otherwise known as the practice of charging different prices for "substantially similar" consumer goods or services that are marketed to different genders, now, similar products must have the same price.

The controversy continues in the 22nd Congressional District, which showed that Republican Claudia Tenney had regained a slight lead over incumbent Democrat Anthony Brindisi.  State Supreme Court Justice Scott DelConte ordered each of the 8 counties in the congressional district to submit a final, unofficial count to the court by Monday, however 55 more uncounted absentee ballots were discovered in Chenango County, the next court action is expected next Monday December 7th, when Judge DelConte is expected to rule on 2000 disputed ballots & the new Chenango Ballots.

Governor Cuomo announced that the state continues to see an increase in COVID 19 positive test rates, hospitalizations, patients in ICU beds & on ventilators.  There were 154,434 tests conducted yesterday, with over 5294 positive tests, which was about 3.4% of all tested.  There were 35 deaths from COVID Tuesday, 2202 are hospitalized, 433 are in an ICU unit & 192 are on Ventilators.
The 75-foot Norway spruce from West Oneonta is getting set up at Rockefeller Center in New York City. It will be illuminated on December 2nd, but there will be no public viewing of the tree lighting ceremony because of the pandemic. The tree lighting will instead be broadcast nationally on NBC.
Norwich Theater Company has teamed with Chenango Arts Council to stage a 10 year retrospective in the Mariea Brown and Raymond Loft Galleries. The exhibit, “Norwich Theater Company’s 10th Anniversary Show” displays costumes, props, photos, posters and more from the theater company’s shows, as well as details about this year’s virtual season. Governor Cuomo signed a bill designed to provide support for women facing maternal depression during pregnancy and following childbirth. The new law provides information and guidelines on maternal depression screening; information on follow-up support and referrals; and public education to promote awareness of and de-stigmatize maternal depression.  The legislation is also intended to ensure that New Yorkers are informed of the public health services that will help them understand, identify and treat maternal depression.
A Wall Street Journal/ Marist College/ NBC News poll released Monday showed that Governor Cuomo's favorability rating decreased by 5% points compared to last month, down to 53%. Republican Rob Astorino's ratings were down by 1% to 22%. Cuomo's drop in numbers is attributed to a controversy that Cuomo's aids may have interfered with the 2012 Moreland Commission on ethics reforms, Astorino's numbers remained low as 53% of those polled, had never heard of him.

Governor Cuomo holds a wide lead over his potential Republican challengers in the 2014 gubernatorial race, according the latest Polls. A Wall Street Journal-NBC-Marist poll found that Cuomo leads Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino 65 to 23%, with similar leads against Assemblyman Steve McLaughlin and former Republican gubernatorial nominee Carl Paladino. A Quinnipiac University Poll shows Cuomo over Astorino by 56 to 25% margin.

Chobani CEO Hamdi Ulukaya will appear twice on NBC news programming today, he appeared on the “Today” show this morning, and will appear on “Rock Center” this evening.  Ulukaya started Chobani in Edmeston after buying a shut down factory in 2005, he credits his employees & the dairy farmers of the region for their success:

Ulukaya said that the company’s employment has grown by large numbers in the last few years, a new factory is opening in Idaho shortly to help service West Coast demands, and they opened a retail store in New York City earlier this year.
