With extreme heat forecast in the Tri-County Region over the next few days, Cooling stations will be open at various location, in Delaware County, cooling stations will be at the Sidney Memorial Public Library, the Andes Public Library, other locations may be announced, In Chenango County, designated emergency cooling centers include the Guernsey Memorial Library at 3 Court Street, in Norwich, the Sherburne Public Library, more information may be available from the Chenango County Clerk's Office. IN Otsego County, cooling centers include the Southside Mall, The Foxcare Center as well as the greater Plains & Wilber Pools in Oneonta or the Clark Sport Center in Cooperstown, more information is available at the State Department of Health

The Nate Lull Scholarship winners were announced, Lull told WCDO that there were 8 winners out of over 200 Applicants:

Lull said that the was the 4th year old of the Scholarship, which has handed out about $65,000 so far to graduating seniors.

A community-wide conversation about housing insecurity and homelessness will take center stage in Norwich next month, as leaders come together to host A Conference on Housing and Belonging. The event will take place from 9:30 am. to 2 pm. on Friday, July 17 in the Norwich High School Auditorium. The conference is free and open to the public. Registration is recommended but not required. Delaware County District Attorney Shawn Smith announced an 8 count indictment Friday has been filed against 54 year old Joseph Bellows of Downsville, from the crash that occurred in Hancock on July 17th, that resulted in the death of East Branch Assistant Fire Chief Jason McGlone. Troop C Commanding Officer Major Lucas Shuta recounted the incident at Friday' Press Conference:

Governor Hochul announced that more than $50 million has been awarded to 50 projects through the State's Restore New York Communities Initiative. Locally, the Village of Cooperstown will get $1 million to demolish 217 Main Street, in favor of a 50-unit, 3-story apartment building. The Village of Franklin will receive $1 million to rehabilitate 3 vacant properties at 438-444 Main Street to be redeveloped into 5 new commercial businesses and a new apartment. The City of Norwich will receive $1 million for the former office building at 23 East Main Street to be repurposed for a childcare center, the 2nd floor will house Commerce Chenango offices with a reception area, The site’s emergency generator and location also position it for FEMA shelter designation, further strengthening community resilience.

The Delhi Girls Basketball team won their 1st title in School History Sunday with a thrilling 54-51 overtime win over Franklinville, at the Hudson Valley Community College in Albany. Delhi was 3 points down with 5 seconds to go in regulation, when senior Logan Bruce hit a 3 pointer at the buzzer to send the game into Overtime, WCDO Sports Director Nate Lull & Color Man Dave Smith with that call:
