Delaware County Sheriff Deputies’ observed a vehicle traveling 90 miles an hour in a 55 Mile an hour zone, on State Hwy 17 in the Village of Hancock on March 22nd. Deputies identified the operator as 24 year old Malik Oliver of East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, Oliver’s operating privileges in New York had been suspended for failure to answer a summons in Brooklyn & there was an active Arrest Warrant for Oliver, issued by the Johnson City Court. Oliver was charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle & Speeding, he was released and is to appear in the Village of Hancock Court to answer the said charges at a later date, he was turned over to the Johnson City Police Department on the Arrest Warrant.

The American Red Cross has resumed testing all blood, platelet and plasma donations for COVID-19 antibodies. Plasma from routine donations that have high levels of COVID-19 antibodies may be used as convalescent plasma to help meet the needs of COVID-19 patients with weakened immune systems. The Red Cross reports that blood supplies remains low & individuals are urged to schedule a blood or platelet donation. The next blood drive locally will be in Sidney today from 2:00 to 6:00 PM at the Sidney Elks Lodge at 104 River Street.
