Veronica Taft of Binghamton has had her murder conviction dismissed, she was convicted previously for 2nd degree murder, manslaughter, and endangering the welfare of a child, for the death of her 2 year old son Lyric in 2010. An appeals court has ruled that there was conflicting proof went against the weight of the evidence presented on the murder & manslaughter charges, the convictions for endangering the welfare of a child stand.

Veronica Taft of Binghamton was sentenced to 25 years to life in prison, for the murder of her 2 year old son Lyric in December of 2010 in their Binghamton home, the toddler died from severe trauma.  Taft was given the maximum sentence in Broome County Court.
