The National Weather Service has now confirmed a record setting 28 tornadoes hit New York State this year, following a tornado confirmation in St. Lawrence County over the past weekend. the previous record was 25 in 1992, more than 20 of the tornadoes touched down in the month of July.
Governor Kathy Hochul today announced that an additional $200 million is now available to school districts and bus operators for zero-emission school buses through the second installment of funding from the Clean Water, Clean Air, and Green Jobs Environmental Bond Act. The funding provides support for the purchase of electric buses, charging infrastructure or fleet electrification planning. To date, 250 districts have started developing these plans, and more than 100 additional districts are in the process of applying for fleet planning in coordination with their local BOCES districts. Governor Cuomo told reporters last night, after he returned
from his meeting with the President, that Trump was open to discussing the SALT
issue.  Cuomo said that  The president’s Economic advisor Lawrence
Kudlow said that he we would sit down and go through the issues, President
Trump said that he would like to see a package of reforms together.  Governor Cuomo refers to the SALT tax
exemptions being removed from New York Property owners as a tax on taxes.
NYSEG representatives will be in
the region over the next several months conducting a safety inspection of natural
gas meters and services to ensure the safe delivery of natural gas to homes or
businesses.  The inspections are
mandatory by the New York State Public Service Commission to look for routine
leaking problems and corrosion inspections. The inspections can quickly be
completed.  NYSEG will be using the firm
DDS and Heath Consultants, and they are legitimate contractors conducting this
work on behalf of the company, they will introduce themselves and show green or

The Otsego County Sheriff’s department arrested a Level 1 sex offender from Virginia for failure to notify authorities that he moved to New York State. Lawrence Green was found living with a relative in the town of Butternuts for a few months, without reporting his move to authorities. Green was remanded to the Otsego County Jail on $2,500.00 cash or $5,000.00 bond.

25 year old Ryan Lawrence of Syracuse, was sentenced to 25 years to life for murdering his 21-month-old daughter Maddox Lawrence earlier this year. Lawrence pleaded guilty in September in Onondaga county court, for fatally beating his infant daughter to death, and leaving her remains in Onondaga Lake.
The Chenango County District Attorney's office announced that 42 year old Melissa Crispell pleaded not guilty to 2 counts of 2nd degree murder, in connection with the death of 58-year-old David Green of Oxford at Green's home. Jeremy Coates pleaded not guilty to 1st degree murder in connection with Green's death, both are being held at the Chenango County Jail.

Ryan Lawrence of Syracuse has been indicted for 1st & 2nd degree murder, First-degree kidnapping & Tampering with physical evidence in Onondaga County. Lawrence is accused of kidnapping & killing his 21-month-old daughter Maddox & leaving her body in the water near the Syracuse Inner Harbor.
The State Inspector general’s office announced that 27-year-old Timothy Green of South New Berlin pleaded guilty to 3rd degree Grand Larceny in Chenango County court. Green will serve six months in jail and five years under probation supervision. He received pay of more than $39,000 for hours he never worked, at the State Office for People with Developmental Disabilities.
