The grants are from $14 million in capital funds for public library construction and broadband infrastructure projects provided in the current state budget. Locally, the Edmeston Free Library will receive over $92,000 for 3 projects, the Kinney Memorial Library in Hartwick will receive $9,000 for a roofing project, & the Sidney Memorial Public Library will receive over $32,000 to renovate the parking lot.

State Police issued 12,169 tickets and arrested nearly 240 people for DWI this Memorial Day weekend, as part of the STOP-DWI traffic enforcement period. The initiative targeted impaired and reckless drivers, between May 26 and May 29. State Police and local law enforcement increased patrols and conducted sobriety checkpoints to deter, identify and arrest impaired drivers.

The Sidney Rotary announced that another Heroin & Opioid Forum would be held Wednesday evening in the Sidney High School Library. Spokesperson Lorraine Keckeisen told WCDO News about one of the guest speakers, Sergeant John Capellini:

Locally, the Kinney Memorial Library in Hartwick will receive $25,035 to Replace old windows and add insulation, the Unadilla Public Library will receive $35,475 to Replace inefficient windows and light fixtures and interior renovations, the Village Library of Cooperstown will receive $23,327 for Interior renovations & the Worcester Free Library will get $23,606 for insulation.
