Broome County Sheriff's Office announced that 48 year old Joseph Maine of Endicott, was found safe. Maine reportedly left his house Saturday evening & traveled to a friend’s residence in the City of Binghamton in the & remained there for several days without contacting his family. Law Enforcement was alerted to Maine’s Binghamton location in the early morning hours today, he was interviewed by the Broome County Sheriff’s Office and voluntarily went to UHS Wilson Hospital for evaluation.

The Broome County Sheriff’s Office continues its search for a 48 year old Joseph Maine of Endicott, who reportedly left his house on foot on the evening of Saturday, April 19, and never returned home, the Sheriff’s Office has conducted grid searches of the surrounding neighborhood, Maine is diabetic, he may not have taken his medication recently and may be exhibiting confused behavior. Maine is described as a White Male, 6’0” and weighing 167 lbs. He was last seen wearing a light gray sweatshirt, dark Grey sweatpants, a black baseball cap with a fishhook hanging from it, and black sneakers. Tips can be called to 778-1196.

21 year old Christian Rogler of the Town of Maine, pleaded guilty in Broome County Court for Leaving the Scene of a Fatal Accident and Attempted Rape. Rogler's guilty plea stems from two separate criminal incidents, last September in the Town of Dickinson, Rogler struck and killed Jamel Smalls of Binghamton, and fled the scene of the crash. Rogler will be sentenced to 2 and 1/3 to 7 years in State Prison, and in 2021, in Johnson City, Rogler engaged in an attempted sexual assault of an underage person, he will receive 3 and ½ years in State Prison, followed by 10 years of post-release supervision. Rogler is also required to register as a sex offender and a final no-contact order of protection will be issued for the victim. Sentencing is scheduled for May 28th.
Chenango County Sheriff’s Office arrested 30 year old Joseph Schneider of Albany & 35 year old Samuel Smith of Hamilton on a number of drug charges, in North Norwich. Due to recent burglaries and larceny complaints Deputies were conducting property checks at storage units, when they observed a suspicious vehicle. Deputies located a quantity of Methamphetamine, packaging material, and a scale inside the vehicle. Schneider and Smith were taken into custody without incident. Both were arraigned and were released on their own recognizance. Schneider and Smith are to appear in the Town of North Norwich Court at a later date.

The Chenango County Sheriff's Office arrested 37 year old Joseph Grace of Norwich on 2 counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance & 1 count of Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia. Grace was arrested following a traffic stop, they seized Grace's Backpack & applied for a search warrant on that backpack, which contained 180 wax envelopes containing Fentanyl/Heroin, 14.3 grams of crystal Methamphetamine, a digital scale, and other materials used to sell illegal narcotics. Grace was processed & was released on an appearance ticket for City of Norwich Court at a later date.

Condon admitted that he unlawfully entered a seasonal residence in the Town of Masonville and stole dozens of weapons, a chainsaw and other items, Condon was arrested on July 2, 2023, in the Town of Maine and charged with burglary, he was sentenced to a 7-year sentence to be followed by 10 years of parole supervision.

Broome County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to reports of a stolen pickup truck from Pennsylvania Monday, the driver failed to comply & a pursuit continued at high rates of speed, until the vehicle was stuck in mud in the Town of Maine. 21 year old Samuel Pierce of Candor was taken into custody, officers seized a loaded handgun & Pierce was charged with several counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property, Criminal Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Fleeing a Police Officer, Reckless Endangerment & 17 Traffic Violations. Pierce was wanted on a warrant from Tioga County for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Sell. He was arraigned and remanded to the Broome County Correctional Facility. 2 juvenile females who were with Pierce for part of the pursuit were charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance.

Burglary, Troopers were attempting to locate another individual on a warrant on
January 28th when they spotted Audette and Schneider hiding in a
field in the town of Guilford, they discovered that the 2 were in the process
of burglarizing a nearby residence where the owner had died. Audette was detained by troopers but
Schneider attempted to flee the scene and was ultimately taken into custody
with the assistance of a New York State Police K9. Audette was arraigned & was released on
an appearance ticket, Schneider was
transported to Norwich City Police where he was wanted on 2 warrants.

State Police arrested 46 year old Joseph Fassett of Binghamton, for felony Aggravated Unlicensed Operation and several other traffic violations. Troopers observed Fassett speeding, and failing to dim his headlights, a computer check showed that he was suspended 16 times in New York on 10 different dates. Fassett was arraigned and was remanded to the Broome County Jail with no bail set. His next court date in the town of Maine is on February 28th...

Fox Hospital effective January 1st, 2016. Michael Buck of Middlefield was arraigned in Otsego county court on charges of 2nd degree murder, 1st degree assault, criminal use of a firearm and criminal weapons possession. A grand jury indicted Buck earlier this week, in connection with the murder of his father Joseph Buck on September 22nd in the town of Middlefield. Buck was returned to the Otsego county jail on $500,000 cash bail or $1 million dollars bond pending additional court action.
